Piece has original leaded glass in the upper section of the doors with a floral pattern and an overall organic motif. All original glass(wavy) and in excellent condition. It has an oak exterior with chrome plated exterior screws and a chrome plated surround, which is plated on solid brass. The interior is mahogany veneer with adjustable mahogany veneered shelved. There are tubular steel feet and chrome pater bar handles. It comes the the original lock which has a tall bolt on the inside running vertically. I will try and get a key made for it before delivery. This is very rare. The only place I have seen this artists work is on http:www.zeitlosberlin.com and they are all sold. Also. They have only sold plain wardrobes and this is a more complicated and usable piece with very nice compact proportions. Prices look to be around 4k euros. Hello. Up for auction is this striking antique solid oak, leaded stained glass, double door bookcase with scroll feet, with four adjustable shelves, and original hardware, with key for locking. It is solid oak, and in great shape for an old piece, including the original finish. Book case was made by Larkin soap company, of Buffalo, NY at the turn of the century, although there are no manufacturer's marks on it. It is indeed a Larkin. No breaks, or cracks in glass. Larkin was an early 20th Century soap manufacturer, who started giving away furniture as promotional items, and had so much success, they started making, and selling their own line of furniture. This is in original finish and the finish is worn, all original glass, missing 3 of the brass knobs for the doors, the back side of a couple of the sections the outer layer of wood is missing, this is not visible when against the wall, One door unit does not slide well, something with the roller on the right side. This beautiful removable crown sits upon the crown moulding on the bookcase top. The bookcase top has two large adjustable walnut shelves that measure 10” deep by 36 ¼” long and the wavy glass in the doors appears to be original. An intact working lock with key is found on the right door. Elegant vertical linear raised burl panels accent the sides of these doors while lovely scalloped scroll moulding is found beneath them. The bookcase top is removable for shipping purposes and sits on the handsome burl cylinder roll base. The handsome burl cylinder base is accented with fluting on the sides and the burl clad cylinder roll door is graced with ebonized knob pulls which appear to be original.
