Spectacular SOLID WOOD walnut cabinet with glass doors and handmade drawer pulls. This is a unique. One of a kind piece. We have never seen another one like it. No veneer. This is a very heavy solid cabinet. It has always been greatly admired by visitors; we hate to part with it. The wood is smooth and beautiful. It could be a china cabinet or collectibles cabinet or a bookcase. We don't know the age of this cabinet but it was made long ago when things were carved from solid wood. Please see pictures. Curved glass doors and large heavy, sturdy shelves. It also has 2 large drawers that open easily. There is a hole drilled in the back so electric lights or stereos can be put inside. With a curved apron on the bottom front and both sides. Cabinet is built with quarter sawn white oak with a warm patina finish. The back and shelves are straight grain white oak. As well as the door edge rollers. It operates as it was designed to do. The Government cases generally came with square knobs. This bookcase has all original knobs. When this set was delivered. Large 2 Glass Door With Bins Antique Vintage Bookcase Selling a very unusual large antique bookcase that I have never seen one like it before. It is a 5 shelve. Double glass door bookcase that also has two nice bins that open up at the bottom of the bookcase. I do not know the age but I would guess early 1900’s. We have had it in our farmhouse for over 25 years. It measures 82” high(just 2” shy of 7 ft) 69 ½“ wide and 16” deep. It has 2 wonderful glass doors with the original glass. The two bins measure 34” wide and 16” deep. It is one piece and quite heavy. I am no expert on wood but it may be pine although the wood appears heavier than pine. We are also selling the 200 plus books that fit the shelves. The books are early 1900 novels and really help set the bookcase off. We are downsizing and selling our farmhouse. The rich dark mahogany changes to a glowing hue in the direct sunlight as you will see in the photos! Overall dimensions are 23 1/2" square and 48" high. The top two levels have sections measuring 10" high. 13 1/2" and7 3/4" deep. The bottom level sections measure 12" high(for larger volumes or collectable) 13 1/2" wide and 7 3/4" deep. Hand planing and chisel marks. Traditional moldings and carved wooden pegs at the joints are authentic on this historic furniture from France. The old finish has warm antique patina. Waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its rich glow is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. There are various restorations over the centuries. The crown is removable for easier moving. Doors have a working double throw lock and key. Old but not original. Massive lift off hinges are original.
