This has been in storage and has some surface dust. It has Swiss Musical Movement.Also on the side of the clock it has a sticker that reads: Holzhackerbubs mar sch Edelweiss. That is what I can make out anyways. Everything else looks fine. I see no damage. I really do not know much about the clock. I do not know the age. Please look at all the pictures and enlarge them.

A beautifully carved Bahnhausle Design Black Forest Cuckoo Clock featuring an 8-day Regula Movement. The Bahnhausle Design was inspired by Friedrich Eisenlohr of Furtwangen. Germany who modeled the fine design after a railroad guard's house overrun by vines and leaves. The Bahnhausle Design was popularized in the 1850’s by one of the best known Clock Maker’s of that time, Johann Baptist Beha. This clock was purchased in Luxembourg during the 1990s, has little noticeable wear and is in excellent condition as seen in the pictures. The many intricate Black Forest Linden Wood leaf carvings are in great condition.The bird's door opens and"cuckoos" once at the bottom of the hour and at the top of the hour to announce the number of hours. Two large pine cone-shaped weights suspended on long chains power the clock for 8 days. Or moving eye clocks, then this lovely little clock could be the perfect addition to any collection. Carved in the form of a very sweet looking dog. As the clock ticks away, the eyes revolve(about one full rotation per minute) thus changing the expression on the little dogs face. One minute a guilty looking puppy, the next the soulful, pleading eyes of man's best friend.superb. While the eyes rotate. The time can be read off the clock dial set to the chest of the dog. The clock runs well, even keeping fairly good time, wound from the rear by the fixed winder. It stands 8 inches high, 5 inches wide and just 3 inches deep. As I hope the pictures show. The condition ... moreis wonderful. No damage to speak of, and a glorious colour and patina earned over 100 years. I have guessed the age to be c1900, but as there is no makers marks I can't be definite, although the naive carving and wonderful colour could put it a little earlier. Certainly a talking point. The movement is badly wormed, it would require extensive skilled work to put it into working order. The dial also has worm holes to a lesser extent. P revious poor repairs have been made. I think with an epoxy resin glue- the dial appears to be stuck to the movement. The carved detail on the dial surround is very crisp. The clock works but it is missing the pendulum and weights(easily found on ebay) The horn above the game sack and the back door. I manually tested the clock and it cuckoos on the half hour and hour at which time it also does a full count. The clock measures approximately 25" tall from the top of the antlers to the bottom of the pouch x 15” across at its widest point x 10 1/2" deep. The hand carvings on this clock were done with exquisite detail! Both the hare and pheasant have intricate carvings and measure 11” long and each eye appears to be glass. The face of the clock has a 4” diameter and is in perfect condition. Clearly marked W. Germany. ... moreThe Roman Numerals and hands of the clock are in excellent condition. There are no bends to the hands. The cuckoo, complete with full tail comes out the door when opened. On the top of the clock is the deer head with glass eyes centered on 4 large leaves framed by two large crossed rifles each measuring 11" long. The head dress is wood. The antlers are plastic and two of the very top of the tips are off. Near the bottom of this magnificent clock is the hunting or powder bag that measures 5” tall x 4 1/2” across. The chains are very clean and intact with no kinks having 48 links to a foot of chain. This clock. Even with the few missing parts is just a beauty! As you can see from the pictures, the interior of the clock is very clean. Marked on the mechanism is“the number 3471 Regula, Made in Germany, G.M. 1649JJJ and 1674539, 1704375 and 1705294, E. But I was told that it was made in the 60s. Recently serviced. A couple of white numbers on the dial are replacements. It is in working condition. However, we were told that it needs a heavier weight to keep time better. Both original weights are included. Rare Black Forest Carved Mantle Cuckoo, Old Pinned Movement
This is a wonderful old well carved mantle cuckoo that is over 20“tall. I will try and describe this great cuckoo as best that I can; but again this is one of the many Black Forest clocks I inherited. It stands 20” tall is 14” wide and 10” deep, When placed on a level surface it seems to run and cuckoo but I know it is in need of a good cleaning and adjustments. The old pinned movement seems to be in good condition and the bone hands and nailed numbers seem to be original to this clock. It also has the old original wooden bird with wings that flap. The carvings seem to be almost perfect except for a little loss on the one of the eagle’s wing and leaf tip which is almost unnoticeable. Wonderful Black Forest Carved Chair Grape Vine& Grape Motif Brienz. Switzerland Wonderful Black Forest Carved Chair Grape Vine& Grape Motif Brienz. Switzerland This auction is for this amazing hand carved Black Forest chair. It was certainty carved by a Master Carver. It is carved from walnut and everyone knows how hard that is because it is a hard wood. It was carved in Brienz. Switzerland and the walnut wood has a rich walnut patina. The back of the chair is carved in the shape of a grape vine with a cut out filigree pattern. It is carved in high and bas relief and very richly decorated. The simulated grape vine carving is covered with grape leaves and the whole background of the smooth wood is decorated with pointillism. There is not one inch of the wood that is not carved or decorated. The center of the back of the chair is decorated ... morewith floral motifs- some of them looking like roses and some Lily of the Valley flowers. The seat of the chair is carved to simulate the bark of a tree and it is also framed by a caving looking like a grape vine and decorated with grape leaves. This is the most amazing chair I have ever seen! There was a small crack in the seat which has been repaired and is not noticeable anymore and a small repair on the top carved grape vine. The legs are turned legs and also carved to simulate leaves. This is a wonderful one of a kind chair and would make a great decoration in a wine cellar. These types of chairs in Switzerland were typically called, Stabellen" The wood has a beautiful rich patina. It measures from floor to top 34" high. From floor to seat it is 16" high, the back from seat to top is 16.5" high and the seat is 17.5" wide and 14" deep. Very sturdy and sit able. Please call or email us with any questions you may have. Cuckoo Clock west germany black forest bavarian blaue donau style not working
my mother claims it was wound too taught/tight and is therefore stuck and not working. As for the history my mother said it had been to a professional for repair for the same reason once before. Whatever the problem please assume its not working.
