Large, Black Forest Cuckoo clock with a Large Eagle on the top Pediment, the Eagle itself has a wingspan of 11" Nice 5 3/4" dial with Bone Hands, Large Lyre shaped movement that is clean and working well. One of the bellow tops have been changed at some point in its life. There are no breaks or repairs to the carvings that I see, there is a age crack on one wing of the Eagle but it doesn't go thru and doesn't show from the front! Real nice Articulated cuckoo bird. VINTAGE DOG SHAPED INKWELL CARVED WOOD TREEN - POSS BLACK FOREST
Nice vintage. Possibly Schnauzer dog inkwell made of carved wood. This may be Black Forest- I'm not sure. As the pictures show, the carving is good and this definitely has some age(see picture 6 showing the hinges) The dog is missing its porcelain or glass liner and it needs one that is about 1" in diameter. He is about 8 1/2 cm tall from the tip of his ears. No damage, just a little light wear on the wood commensurate with age which I'd guess at the Deco period so 1920's/1930's. Rare Emil SCHMECKENBECHER Black Forest HOFBRAUHAUS Musical Animated Cuckoo Clock
A rare vintage 1973 Emil Schmeckenbecher Blackforest Hofbrauhaus musical animated cuckoo clock in excellent cosmetic condition and good working condition. Inspired by Oktoberfest. This gorgeous triple-weight Schmeckenbecher is made to look like a Hofbrauhaus and is colorfully trimmed with hand painted flowers. There is a wooden balcony just below the dial and two hinged windows with red shutters on each side and heart shapes in each. The lower wooden balcony is complete with rail fences on either side. This clock is hand made and all hand painted in fine detail depicting the Oktoberfest celebration. There are two colorfully animated painted German figures that lift their beer mugs as the music plays to the tune of“Drink” Drink! The cosmetic condition of this musical cuckoo clock is excellent. Much better than usually found, see the closeup ... morepictures! the original colorful paint is nearly 100% complete, the only tiny loss is at the front edge of the green balcony where persons would have touched the clock to set the hands on it. It would not be easy to find another in this excellent cosmetic condition! The clockworks have been cleaned. Oiled and adjusted and work well– if you want to see a video of this Schmeckenbecker working please email me! The pendulum. Dial, weights, case and movement and bird are all original to the clock– new bellows and hands have been carefully installed to ensure good operation. The caseworks measure 12 inches tall X 12.5 wide X 6.3 inches deep, the pendulum measure 6.9 inches and each of the three pine cones are 4.6 inches long. The dial is 3.3 inches in diameter and the brass chains are about 73 inches long. The clockworks are a good quality German Regula series#25(one Day=30 Hour) movement. This is a 1 day 30 hour clock which needs to be wound daily by pulling the chains on the pine cone weights. One small spring has been added to the clock to ensure the bird closes properly. Thank you for looking at the vintage Willy Neef Black Forest Cuckoo Clock made in Triberg Germany. This adorable little cuckoo clock measures 7in high and 5in wide. It looks like all parts are there including roof top ornament. Pendulum, two weights, two chains, and the back door along with what you can see in the pictures. The bellows are intact and the bellow tops are not torn or ripped from what I can see. I haven't found a actual maker or numbers on the movement itself. The cuckoo movement seems loose from its mounting screws. I'm guessing the clock can run and cuckoo after servicing because when the pendulum is off and I gently pull on the time chain the pendulum arm swings back and forth. When I put some pressure on the cuckoo chain the bird does not come out but I can hear the gong arm move and it makes a cuckoo sound but it ... moredoesn't sound like the bellows are receiving enough air to produce a loud enough cuckoo(bellow tops are not damaged) It does not run or cuckoo as it should therefore I've listed it for parts or repair. Looks like the original box which has some writing on it as you can see in the pictures. I collect clocks and bought this one recently just to sell it over Ebay. Here is a nice rare specimen of the mineral schapbachite from the Type locality for the species(the location this mineral was first found and identified) Black Forest, Baden-Wurhemberg, Germany. This has been a fun piece for me! The original label states the specimen came from the Henensegen Mine, Wildscharbach, Germany, and that the specimen is"Scharbachite" which led me to do a lot of research to find the truth an, required me to and correct the mis-information on the original label. There is no mineral Scharbachite, and there is no Hemensegen Mine, nor any Wildscharbach in Germany! To further make things more interesting, this is what MINDAT has to say on the subject: Schapbachite was named after the locality in the Black Forest ... moreof Germany where it was originally thought to have existed as a species. The original specimens were found to be a mixture of galena and matildite(Ramdohr. 1936) Redefined in 1982 and retained the original name, but not confirmed in nature until 2004(Walenta) So I really can't tell you if this is indeed schapbachite or if it instead matildite, or something even more strange. But either way, this might be a good one for those who love the challenge of doing your own identification on rare mineral species! The specimen measures 2.5 x 2.4 x 1.0 cm in size and comes professionally labeled and mounted in a 1.25 inch square plastic case for display with Marty's original label attached to the bottom of the case! Large Antique ca. 1930 Black Forest Cuckoo Clock
This large clock– measuring 11” by 17” With a 1 3” wide bird top- is in excellent condition. The carving is intact, the bird top is present and undamaged, and the cuckoo bellows work nicely. The movement is a 30-hour count wheel mechanism. The cuckoo bird, which is wooden and has moving wings, cries once on the half hour, and as many times as the time of day on the full hour. On the full hour, the clock also gongs out the time, in alternation with the cuckoo’s cry. No maker’s name is to be found on the movement, but an indistinct and illegible stamp exists on the inside bottom of the case. Inside the back door are clock repairmen’s handwritten notations of cleanings or adjustments done in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It is likely that the bellows tops were replaced in one of these sessions. The clock is running. Keeps good time, and cuckoos and ... moregongs as it should, when it should. The clock came from my dad. Who likes clocks. Beautiful Hones Black Forest German cuckoo clock that needs a bit of attention. The clock is not running. And one of the band members(accordion player far left) in the front row needs to be glued back onto his base. The clock has been evaluated by an expert who said that there is a lot of dust in the mechanism and once cleaned, the clock will run, and no other damage noted. He said that it was an expensive clock when new, and perfect for a hobbyist, and that the repairs needed were simple. There are three weights and the clock will play two songs: Edelweiss. And It's a Small World, probably alternating between each song on the hour. The chains are about six feet in length. There is mechanical movement on the top of the clock where four band members move in a circle, and there is a cuckoo bird who comes out of the tiny door. LOOK Very rare Vintage key wind cuckoo clock. measures approximately 22 1/2" tall x 19 in. wide 30" from top of clock to bottom of pendulum. Beautifully carved detailed birds etc. all wood is in excellent shape just a little dusty. Some wear to white finish on clock face numbers. Cuckoos once at bottom of each hour and calls out the number of times for the hour of the day at the top of each hour. It cuckoos and gongs very loud. It appears to be all original. Bone or celluloid type hands and huge matching pendulum. Clock was made by Reguladora clock co. in Portugal, has label on back stating this. I looked at the movement could only see what looks like 7 30 88 RM and a number 26.Deffinatelt a quality made clock. I Purchased from a local estate sale. I wound clock installed ... morependulum and clock ran flawlessly for about 36 hours kept perfect time. I rewound the clock after that and now clock will only run a short while then stop. If you take the pendulum off the movement will tick just fine. I would guess this just needs a good cleaning as like I said this clock kept perfect time for about 36 hours. This is an awesome vintage clock. I AM SELLING THIS CLOCK AS IS NO RETURNS. This is the only clock like this I have ever seen so if someone has info let me know. Up for auction working 8 day hunter style Black Forest cuckoo clock from Germany or parts or repair. The clock has roof damage. The top piece and horn parts are missing. The clock has a regula 34 movement. The clock also has new bellow tops and new hands. The front face says West Germany. When I got this clock I was looking for another case but parts for this clock are expensive so I am selling for someone else to fix. I have got the hard work done which is the clock keeps good time.Sounds good and looks good when it is on the wall. The clock is 11 inches tall. 7 1/2 inches wide 4 1/2 inches deep. The clock does weigh a little more so I charge a little more for shipping-more than my one day clocks. This does come from a smokers home but I will wipe down before shipping. Up for auction is a old working one day black forest cuckoo clock GM Angem. This is the last of my old cuckoo clocks. The clock is in good working condition. The clock keeps good time. The clock cuckoos and gongs when it is supposed to. The clock has old brass movement. One of the bellows has a piece of tape on the back of it. This might be holding the paper on. The roof shows fading. I will try to show this in the pictures. Overall condition of the clock is good shape. The top piece has been repaired a few times and has nicks and chips which makes it look pretty poor. The clock has new hands. The dial is has a dark brown backdrop and features raised or embossed arabic numerals to mark the hours and the hands are white. Matching, and very fancy. ... moreThere are four goldtone metal chains affixed to the front and two have faux pinecone shaped weights on the ends and the other two have brass rings. The weights are for decorative purposes only and have no bearing on the clock operation; nice touch. Though! The clock is equipped with a key wind. Mechanical movement that winds through an arbor hole on the dial; lasts for about two days on a single wind. The back has a plastic case surrounding the movement equipped with a sliding back that easily slides open to allow access to the mechanical movement. The movement is signed by“A Taron. This clock is one of the nicest. Real clocks I’ve ever seen. It’s the ideal size too measuring about 5 7/8” high(not counting the chains or pendulum) About 1 3/4" at its deepest point, and about 4 3/8” wide. I set it up. Wound it up, placed it on the wall and it works perfectly, keeps good time, and the pendulum is fascinating to watch.
