This has no damage with minor surface wear to the wood. The barrel he is leaning on is empty so I think this is a tooth pick holder or cocktail stick holder for a bar. Really well carved. The sharpness of this makes me confident this dates from the 1920s 1930s period. He has a moveable head which is great so he can'cock his head' to one side and look really drunk! This measures 4.75inches high to the top of his head and sits 3inches deep. I would say the origin of this is Austrian/ Switzerland as it has'Wien' painted on the barrel. Please see all photos provided. This is one of two I have, unfortunately the other chap's head fell off and so needs some attention, but these were purchased together and you can see them side by side in the last couple of photos. This other chap has sold so you are only bidding on the one with the dark wood barrel. Size: 12in Tall x 9in Wide x 7in Deep. Which is very large for such a piece. Hand carved wooden Black Forest Dwarf(elf or forest leprechaun) I believe carved in European Beech and stained with an Ebony colored stain. This magnificent collector's piece is one of a kind. Not sure as to it's age. Possibly the 60's and 70's. There is a crack in the base which has not"moved" for many years. shows that it is real wood. Weight is about 5 lbs. Antique Black Forest Wood Carving Sculpture - Mader's Restaurant - Milwaukee WI
This great old hand carved sculpture stands just about 13" tall on a which measures 6 by 8 inches. It's in good condition but does have some flaws and restoration. There is a chip off the woman's foot and the bow in back of her dress. But the worst damage is in the neck area where her head was re-attached. Even with these flaws. However, the sculpture retains its strong European flavor and historic import. Dealer scuttlebutt traces the carving to the World Famous Mader's restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the end of Prohibition in 1933. German restaurants and bars throughout Wisconsin threw parties which many say lasted for days. Vintage Wood Kyowa Black Forest Style Cuckoo Clock Parts Restore Japan
This is a small vintage black forest style cuckoo clock. It measures approx. 6 1/2" x 10" and will extend from the wall 3 1/4" The clock case and top piece are made of wood. The 2 cuckoos are plastic, the face and hands are made of metal. The cuckoos would bob up and down. The face has a black painted finish, the numbers and makers mark are ivory colored and it is marked Kyowa Mfg Co Tokyo Japan Cuckoo. The top piece has 2 staples on its back that slip over 2 large staples at the top of the roof. The back coverslips down and slides easily. There is a hanger attached to the top of the back to hang it with. This clock is dusty and I have not cleaned/polished any of it. I do not see any splits or cracks in any of the wood. The clock works are inside of the clock, the chains that hold the weights are intact but I do not have the ... moreweights. There is a hook to hold the weight on one end of the chain, the other end just has a ring. I do not know if it works and it is being sold as is for parts/repair. This clock would make a nice display piece. Up for auction. We have a restored vintage 8 day A. Schneider Sohne Black Forest German cuckoo clock manufactured in 1972. Decorated with hand carved leaves and birds, this is a lovely clock! It is complete with chains, 1500 gram weights, a crown, and a pendulum. It also has a night switch on the side so that you can silence the cuckoo at night if you wish. We cleaned and oiled the movement, refinished the frame and crown, adjusted the gong, cleaned the chains, and tested it for several weeks in our home. It now has a new lease on life; looks beautiful and runs and cuckoos perfectly on the hour and half hour. This is the highly desirable 8 day Regula movement; you only have to pull the weights up once a week instead of every day. The dimensions are 14" X 9 1/2" X 6" including the crown. I have had this old. Vintage black forest wood cuckoo clock for a good number of years. I had visions of taking this in to the local clock'guy' But I just never got around to it. When the weights are attached and the clock is hung on the wall, the clock ticks. Winds and runs for several hours until the weights run down. The cuckoo and little man behind both doors do not work. There is some sort of music box inside the clock. It would be really nice for someone to get this working again or maybe just use it for parts. It measures 13" high from the top of the wooden cuckoo to the bottom leaf. Measurements don't include chain. Pendulum, etc, just the length of the clock itself. This vintage cuckoo clock comes from the Black Forest region of Germany. It measures 11" tall overall(6 1/2" from the flat base to the top of the roof) 7 1/4" wide and 8" deep. The face of the clock is marked'Germany. The deer's antlers are missing and the cuckoo bird's door won't close. There are no weights or pendulum but the chain is all there. Antique Black Forest Germany cuckoo clock with bird & acorns AS IS
This antique cuckoo clock comes from the Black Forest region of Germany. It measures 12" tall overall(7 1/8" from the flat base to the top of the roof) 7 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" deep. Vintage German Black Forest Working Cuckoo Clock Regula Wooden
This vintage German Black Forest clock is in good working condition. The clock features super nice Black Forest linden woodcarvings as seen in the pictures. The bird's door opens and"cuckoos" once at the bottom of each hour and"cuckoos" at the top of the hour(once for each hour) Two pinecone shaped weights are suspended on long chains and power the Regula one-day movement. Before the weights reach the end of the chains. Simply pull the chains to raise the weights back up the bottom of the clock carving to continue clock use. The clock parts are in very good condition. The bellows(which are like flutes that produce the cuckoo sound) chime, chains and weights are in great shape as seen in the pictures. The top piece shows an age split that was repaired at some point, but has nice carvings on it. The time movement is ... moreworking fine and keeps good time, but once moved, the clock may require some adjustments or service(typical for these types of clocks) The clock has a back door that is used to make adjustments and the leaf carving attached to the swinging pendulum slides up or down on the shaft(up for faster and down for slower) to help fine tune the time movement. The main part of the clock measures 15 high by 11 wide. Made in Germany.

This auction is for a German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock. The clock has a sticker that reads Quality Clock Von Hagos Hrastnig K.G. Furstenfeldbruck. Made in Germany 114 AM 8/1960. The movement is a Thorens movement. It also has a small music box to the side and the sticker for that is Wein, Weib und Gesang Faust Chorus. Made in Switzerland. This clock is the trumpeter flute clock the flute is by the side of the clock and it has a fan that blows through the flute when it is attached, which is a very hard clock to find with all its intricate carvings. I purchased this clock from an estate and it was stored in a plastic tote so it is in pretty good shape. It carries 3 large weights and the cuckoo is a bird in one door and a german boy reading a book in another door. Measurements are 13 1/2" tall without the elk and gun plate. the elk and ... moregun plate measures 4" tall by 12 1/2" wide. The width of the main cuckoo clock where the bird and rabbit are is 12" and measurement of the roof width is 10" wide. The number 10 is missing, The trumpet bell has been reglued a long time ago so it will be easy to clean it off and reglue it. One gun sling has been broke with a clean break all is there and easy to reglue. There are 2 pieces to the side I think one is the flute. I do not know if the cuckoo clock works or not. This is a very useful clock or vase bracket, which was still in daily use over 100 years after being made! ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST GHS CUCKOO QUAIL CLOCK
Up for auction is this beautiful antique black forest cuckoo quail clock made by Gordian Hettich and Sons(GHS) circa early 1900's. The clock is in very good condition with only a few minor old repairs and a few chips here and there. The is a small part of the vine missing on the right side near the rabbit. see pictures) The antlers have some losses as well. They should be a bit larger than what is shown. The clock is large, 26 inches high and 18 inches wide. These measurements do not include the weights and the pendulum. The heavy cast brass movement, stamped GHS, has been cleaned and oiled and is in good running condition. The bellow tops have all been recovered and give off a nice deep sound. The 5 1/2 inch dial has it's original nailed on roman numerals and a beautiful set of carved bone hands by(bonehands.com) The 3 weights and ... morethe pendulum are included with the clock. eBay Listing Vintage Black Forest Hunter Cuckoo Clock Original Colored Hunter Model- Made in the Black Forest of Germany This is a beautiful example of a German. Black Forest Hunter Cuckoo Clock in excellent condition. This clock runs very well and has a bird. Which pops out of his door every half-hour; he cuckoos once on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour. Prior to his familiar“cuckoo” song, the clock chimes on a gong. When the cuckoo sings, the bird bobs up and down, then goes back in and slams the door! Also you can see the carved maple leaf pendulum swing with each passing second. The best thing about this clock is the beautiful hand painted colored front! Also rather rare is the signed maker"Bachmaier& Klemmer"on both the case and the movement. In hundreds of cuckoo clocks I have worked on or sold. I have never ... moreseen another one by this maker! The weights are heavy and shaped like pinecones– making this cuckoo clock run a full day before you need to pull them back up! The case. Dial, and movement are in great condition and the clock keeps excellent time. The handmade case is made of solid wood in great condition with the original multi-color finish. There are lots of large carvings. Complete with leaves, rabbit, pheasant, crossed rifles and a deer head on the front. These carvings make up the“Hunter” style cuckoo clock. The dial is in excellent condition with original numbers and signed Germany. The gong is original. As is the entire clock. It includes the colored leaf pendulum. Also included are the two weights to the clock. You can adjust the time to slow and fast from the pendulum. The signed(Bachmaier and Klemmer) movement is in perfect condition and has just been cleaned. Oiled and checked for proper operation. The clock looks to be all-original. I don’t know the exact age of this clock. But it was made before plastic was put into the movement and bellows. Probably made in the late 1940's or 1950's.
