Marked Heco 8 Day, Made in Germany, Black Forest Cuckoo Clock! Very solid, it is a large cuckoo clock that is made of beautifully carved wood with a Regula internal clock mechanism and 2 cast iron pine cone pendulums along with a matching wood leaf pendulum. The clock does not play music, it chimes when the baby blue bird comes out and the clock when tested did work also! The carving depicts many carved leaves. A hanging hunting bag or satchel, as well as a glass eyed rabbit and a glass eyed quail like bird and a carved ... morehorn surrounds the roman numeral circular clock portion. The top of the clock is chalet style, the theme is animal/hunting. The parts are all intact. And are all together on the clock minus the white roman numeral 10 on the face of the clock. There are a few minor, very minute, scratches on the wood but very, very noticeable at all. We did note the wooden leaf pendulum had some scratches, I believe due to sitting next to the heavy pine cones and being rubbed in the box when moved.again not very noticeable and easily repairable it's cosmetic only. The detail is amazing and again the clock is solid with all necessary parts to function! The movement mechanism inside is stamped"Regula" on the bottom.GM" on the right and left side, A 34-82" in the middle, Made in Germany" in the middle, and"164900, 1674539" on the left side, 1704075, 1709294" on the right side. When you wind up the clock, it starts to work but stops after about 10 minutes or so. I am not sure if I am not winding it up enough or not. Switzerland and it is totally carved from oak. Oak is a rare commodity in Brienz carvings but it does exist. The chair is very intricately carved by hand with great detail to carving finesse. There are garlands of flowers, leaves, even the inside arm rests are carved with a square detailing and it makes it look a little Art Deco! Somebody spent a lot of time carving this hard wood into such a beautiful product. It has a super long back which makes it very comfortable for a tall man to sit ... morein. It is upholstered in a hand embroidered petite point pattern showing stags in various motions. Lying down and running. The seat is covered with petite point motifs of flowers and leaves as well as four hearts to form one big flower. It makes me think that it was probably a labor of love. German Black Forest Railroad Train Station Cuckoo Clock Working Restore Project
This is a fabulous clock. It just needs some case work. I hung this and put the weights on and it sprang to life. The original bellows still work well, the cuckoo bird pops out and bows, and the gong strikes appropriately. The face is split in two and there is an age crack in the case. There is some trim work needed and one of the hooks is missing from the chain. The hands were broken when I got it, but they seem to be the easiest to replace. A very nice antique Victorian Era shelf. Just found this at an estate sale. The little lady who passed had these 2 houses just to store her collection/addiction. The shelf is hand carved from mahogany wood and is from the Black Forest region of Germany. Marked under shelf is the numbers 393. Measures approx 10" tall and 6" in depth. It was made by either of the foremost makers of cuckoo clocks.Johann Baptist Beha of Eisenbach or Ketterer of Furtwangen,who are widely recognised to have produced some of the finest cuckoo clocks ever made. They have always been very collectable but in recent times they have become very scarce. The arched top case is of typical form and is decorated with a hand painted floral motif which contrasts very nicely with the ebonised case. The wood plated double fusee movement is in full working order. and the bird itself is complete and articulates correctly.It is original to the case. As with all untouched antiques of this age there are minor ... moreareas of detriment namely that I suspect that the cuckoo door is probably a replacement and that there is a little damage to the porcelain dial around the left winding hole and around the centre hole.There is also scratching at 4 o clock. Offered is a Black Forest wooden works. Weight driven wall clock. The case is 16" tall and 10.5" wide. The case is ebonised black with colorful paint. Porcelain convexed dial has some chips, cracks and repairs. Porcelain columns. The case has white paint over spray on it. Mostly on the right side of the case. The right side door is missing 1/2 of its hinge. The back of the case is missing. The time and strike movement is complete, but filthy dirty. It needs a complete servicing. The pivot holes are full of old green gunk. The mechanism strikes when the hands are turned. The clock has been lightly oiled and has been running for a number of hours. In EXCELLENT CONDITION for it's age, and KEEPS PERFECT TIME. This cuckoo clock is made of solid wood in a rich walnut finish. And has beautifully detailed wood carvings. To the right and left of the dial are a pheasant and a hare. Framing the dial is a hunting horn, with a game bag underneath. The clock housing is also adorned with beautifully detailed wood hand carved oak leaves. The cuckoo bird pops out of door at top and calls(cuckoos) on the hour and the half hour. The clock comes with it's original ... morebeautiful large oak leaf pendulum and two 1260g pine cone shaped cast iron weights with the original wire hooks. The bellows have been replaced. The Roman Numeral numbers of clock dial are nailed on the clock housing(not glued) The quail and cuckoo bird are made of wood. The clock comes with it's original beautiful oak leaf antique pendulum and three antique pine cone shaped cast iron 420 weights with the original wire hooks. The bellows have been replaced with genuine sheepskin leather to give it a deep rich sound. This is a brass movement. The quail comes out of left door at top of clock housing. And"calls" on the quarter hour, the half hour, the three quarter hour, and the full hour. The cuckoo bird comes out of right door at top of clock housing, and"calls" the hour of the day(1:00=1 call, 2:00=2 calls, etc. This cuckoo clock measures 18 inches tall. 12 inches wide. Wooden Vintage German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock 1940's
Wooden Vintage German Black Forest Cuckoo Clock 1940's This splendid cuckoo clock belonged to my aunt and I believe it was purchased in the mid to late 1940's. As a youngster. I clearly remember listening to the tick tock and cuckoo sounds. There are fine wood details and carvings to the clock. The vintage piece starts with a clock housing cabinet. And then attached to it is a frame of many hand-carved items. The body of the clock, which resembles a bird house, measures 9 1/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and has a depth of 3 7/8 inches. Attached to this is a decorative frame, measuring approximately 12 1/2 inches wide. On this decorative frame are carved tree branches, leaves, and a large bird and rabbit. These figures are flat on the backside for mounting, and three dimensional on the carved front. Another carved item, below the rabbit ... moreand bird, looks like an old horse collar. An easily removable 15 1/2 inch top piece is secured in place with metal latches and screw eyes. The measurement from the top of this piece to the bottom of the pendulum is approximately 20 inches. We do have some issues to report. The deer antlers have broken off. We have one original and two replacement antlers. None has been re-mounted. The upper assembly with the deer has a section of a branch where you can see it was glued back. Hopefully. This shows in our picture. To the left of the deer head on the mount, below the first two leaves, you can see a glue up to the branch. Most likely, the branch and antlers breaking occurred in one accident. The upper portion was removable and you could then dust around the clock top. That's a guess, but obviously, it was dropped. The clock tick tocks away after setting the weights in place and swinging the pendulum. The bellows cuckoo when I lift by hand. Sometimes it will work and other times. Not. The lifting mechanism needs to be looked at. Everything is here belonging to the clock. The clock. Metal chain for the two pine cones, locking weights and the pendulum are ready to restore this

Not very loud& back to front- on the hour(single) and the half hour(multiple) so almost certainly needing a service or overhaul& is being sold as such. The case has been beautifully hand made from oak and is in the form of a castle. With a stepped rectangular base, an arched'door' bordered by twin tower shaped gatehouses, beautifully hand carved'stonework' an overhanging battlement with a crenallated top and turret. and brass or bronze fittings& detailing. The dial is in a brass bezel with bevelled glass. And has roman numerals, ... morea seconds subsiduary dial, and is signed Junghans. There is rubbing to the numbers& minute ring at 6 o'clock. The movement is accessed via the hinged rear door. And has a knob for setting the hands, a fast/ slow lever, two square rods for winding by key( W T& H S- clock& chime? and is signed Junghans. The bell is underneath the base. Condition: One gate house is missing a spire& a ring. The'door' looks as if it should have'hinges' the turret needs glued back on(it's not broken& was originally glued) one crenel has been lost, and the back door won't stay closed- nothing major and overall a very good case- please see all photos& click to enlarge. It was made in West Germany and was purchased in that country by a soldier stationed there. The unique thing about this clock is the two birds on the bottom move whenever the clock strikes the hour. In addition. Of course, the cuckoo bird also calls out the time on the hour and marks the half hour with one chirp. The clock has been in storage for a long time. But it is working just fine and keeping good time. I think the carving on this clock is more detailed and accurate than many cuckoo clocks sold today. There is no damage to the clock whatsoever. And the movement is clean. The movement is marked GULA. And also Helmut Kammerer. There are numbers on the movement. This Fabulous Very Old German Hand Carved'8 Day' Cuckoo Clock was part of a collection of old clocks recently found at a private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) This rare clock was totally hand carved from solid Black Forest wood. Not like the newer plywood cuckoos. Probably created sometime in the early 1900s and is very impressive in size with a overall length of 24" from tip of Stag's antlers to bottom of pendulum with a width of 11 1/2" at the widest point. The focal point of the clock is the large'Life Like" Stag's head displayed on a plaque at the center peak of the clock. The Head is beautifully carved and has large antlers. He even has glass inlaid eyes. Accenting the head on both sides are large carved Maple tree leaves and tree branches. The center front of the clock is framed with ... moremore of the large carved leaves and branches. The face of the clock was also carved from wood and numbered in White Roman numerals. The hands are also very decorative and done in White. The back access wood panel is solid wood and marked"Made in Germany" In the peak of the front is a little carved hinged wooden door. That displays lovely Golden script lettering that says" SHATZ 8-DAY" The movement was created from solid Brass metal and powered by two Large metal pine cone shaped weights that hang on Brass chains. The Movement is operated by a carved wooden Leaf pendulum that swings back and forth beneath the clock. The Cuckoo bird( Also carved from wood) will appear when the little door opens up top on the half hour and hour. He will coo coo once on the half hour and on the hours, as many times needed for the hour of day. When he is coo cooing, there is a musical chime that sounds in the background. If you have been looking for one of the old German Hand Carved Cuckoo clocks, then this one is in very good condition for it's age with no repairs or cracks I can see anywhere. As they were made in far fewer numbers. This clock is in great overall condition. And functions beautifully. It measures 28 inches tall, 14 inches wide and 7 inches deep. The movement is cast brass signed Hubert Herr. Triberg Germany. The clock dates to the late teens or early twenties. The hands and numerals are original celluloid. The antlers appear to be replacements. However they are well carved. This clock. Like all antique clocks, will require set up when it arrives. This great Musical Cuckoo is being relisted because the previous listing stated the clock was 24” tall and not the correct size of 34” The person who purchased the clock bought it for a specific place in their home and the larger size didn’t fit. The clock was never been shipped. It is being relisted with size correction. This clock is amazing and would be the center piece of almost any Black Forest clock collection. The clock measure 34 inches tall and is 22 inches wide and almost 15 inches deep with an 8 inch dial and large bone hands. These are a quite stunning pair of gothic wooden oak carved corbels with the carvings of the green man with the horns of which: During our research we have been informed they date from the gothic period of the early 19th century and are of black forest origin. Date about c1820. Both are carved in an oak. Wonderful rectangular shapes. Centrally is: the head of the green man with the tongues poking out of their mouths. Curved horns to the top of the heads. Other intricate decoration with the relief carvings. To the top of the rears: intricate flower decoration. The corbels have an overall size of about 13.5 x 2.25inches. Max depths of about 6inches. Vintage Hubert Herr Cuckoo Clock Black Forest Germany For Parts Or Repair 1950s?
Up for bid here is what I believe to be a Vintage Hubert Herr Cuckoo Clock from the Black Forest in Germany. It looks like some others I've found that say that they are from the 1950s. I get Cuckoo Clocks at auctions every now and then and they always seem like confusing contraptions. So. Keep in mind that I don't know much about them. However, I'm quite sure that the main problem with this one is that one of the two chains got pulled completely through and out. There are two empty holes on the bottom of the clock and an unattached chain included. I have pulled the chain that is still in the clock and the clock appears to work right. As you can see in the one photo, you will get the pine cone weights and the pendulum is included. The birds on the roof clip on and you can detach them if you wish. Featuring detailed workmanship and fine quality this piece is in great condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The hand carved and painted Cuckoo Bird comes out and cuckoos. Counting the hour at the top and once on the half hour. It sounds great and keeps good time. The bellows are in working condition. The brass movement is stamped with Regula and Germany. There are only a few very small damages to note. A crack in the frame of the eave where the Stag head hangs that seems to have been repaired years ago. It does not detract from the appearrance or operation of the clock. Some of the nails holding the ornaments on are loose due to the wood drying over the years, but they are holding. ... moreExtra care should be taken when handling to prevent damaging these items. The finish. The painted dial and the hand carved wooden cuckoo bird all appear original. Measurements are 20" tall x 12" wide and 7" deep. The face is 3 1/2" in diameter. It is a very classy cuckoo music clock in need of a warm loving home. Was made in Germany in the Black Forest circa 1960s. It has a 3 WEIGHT 30 hour time and strike with music movement.
