It probably ... moreneeds some hydraulic fluid. But will work. The chair is porcelain and metal. the porcelain does have some discoloration, In the photos it looks perfect, but the that is the flash. There are some scratches to the porcelain also. The material on the seats is probably original. I did not see any damage. Only light ware. There is no head rest. The foot base was broke at some time and you can see the pieces in the picture. There is a green piece that rests across the chair. I did not find any other examples of these, so I am not sure if they are rare or not. The chair is in good condition for its age. The foot rest would need to be fixed. Stop by and take a look. Antique Barber Chair BETZ
Betz Cast Iron Barber/Surgeon Chair. This is a really neat chair and I was told it is from early 1870,not sure you be the judge. The back folds down to a reclining position. The seat part can be elevated with the original crank handle on the side which is removable. There is also a pedal type operation on the back. The head rest looks to be original. I think the really special thing about this chair is that it looks to be the original finish that has never been touched. I have tried to photograph the detail art work on the chair. It really needs a good cleaning. There is scrapes, paint worn off on different parts of the chair, mainly on the arm rests which is expected given the age. The leather seat and back look to be original. There is a rip to the back and a small rip in the seat part. Carpet missing from the step part of the chair. Antique Child Barber Chair Seat Restored Original Game Room
Very Nice restored Childs Barber booster seat. This was used for a young child to sit in while having his hair cut in the old style barber chair. The hooks went over the back of the chair. That is the purpose of the rubber over the top section of the frame(so the large chair did not get damaged) The metal been wire brushed, primed and painted. Due to the age the metal frame has pitting(see pictures) The seat has new padding and new black vinyl fabric, not marine vinyl, it. feels and looks like leather. Up in this auction is an antique dental chair. It was manufactured by the Shampaine company. St. Louis, MO. in around the 1940's to 1960's as best I can tell. I can't seem to find any real detail on the chair itself. The tag in the rear of the chair is stamped with the model number of"S-1531" and a serial number of"9150" The company was later purchased by Affiliated Hospital Products, Inc. in 1967. Beyond that I don't know where it goes. This chair has been restored but not to it's glory. All of the functions work so that the chair can be positioned any way the doctor wanted. The pump takes is up and down. The wheel reclines the seat area of the chair. The back is mechanically adjusted as is the leg rest. Please look at all of the photos(I don't know why some of my pictures are blurry. I think it ... moreis the lack of proper lighting. The back and seat cushions are in very good shape. The green porcelain is also in good shape. The lower cushion does have a tear as seen in pictures. This chair also comes with the foot cushion that is not pictured. I can send extra pics if requested. There are some normal wear and tear marks around the chair. Antique Vintage Adj Barber Chair Headrest 1909 Universal Paper Roller - Works!
Vintage Uholstered head rest for antique barber chairs. The silver colored metal cylinder is the holder for the paper roll and the upper part of the paper roller attached at the top backside of the headrest holds the loose end of the paper. Paper is held secure until the unwanted portion is pulled through it and ripped off easily with it's jagged edge. Clearly imprinted on it says"UNIVERSAL PAT OCT 5 1909" It appears to be in fairly good shape for being 105 years old. Overall length is approx. 16" and width is approx. 7-1/2" The metal upright is 14" X 2-3/8" Please look at the pictures and ask any questions. I see some extra screw holes so it appears over the years that some adjustments for continued use have been made etc. The bar is also vintage and has the old adjustable set up on it. My fathers shop had a different style in the photos as these came out well before the Paidar porcelain-enamel ones. These were advertised in all the barber journals and by local sales distributors with their ads. This authentic reproduction was used to price. Market, and order their supplies to the barbershops.
