Vintage Antique Paidar Barber Chair w/Headrest-Porcelain Base, Cast Foot Rest
Vintage/ Antique Emil J. Paidar Barber Chair I believe this chair is from the 1930s. It does have the original headrest. I do think it was reupholstered with the blue. It has the original green porcelain base and original green porcelain hand rest. Hydraulics still work to go back and forth. I do not see and up and down lever on this one. Also has the original cast iron foot rest. There is a very small crack in the foot rest. With a little spit shine this chair could look good and new. It is hard to find them with the hydraulics working and with the head rest! Local Pickup or Shipping at buyers expense and arrangements! This is an as-is sale. I am not an expert. There is an old repair to the foot rest and there is a crack at the very bottom of the foot rest as shown as shown. The piece is solid throughout and would make a nice addition to any collection. Antique Vintage Copper Restored Comfy Reclining Barber Chair FREE USA SHIP
Antique Vintage Copper-Plated Barber Dentist Man Cave Reclining Chair FREE USA SHIP This is truly a one of a kind piece! About 20 years ago this piece was purchased at an antique store and the owner restored it by having it copper plated and reupholstered with a cool looking copper colored velvet or velour fabric. Very different indeed. During the restoration. The hydraulics were removed from the chair so there would be no chance of any oil leaking from anywhere at any time. This ensured the chair would be leak-proof and would never have any oil leaking on his carpet and he wouldn’t end up in the dog house. He also had the turning mechanism stopped so his grandchildren would not get their fingers pinched in the spinning of the chair. These features can be restored by the new owner if he or she chooses at some time in the future, but for now ... morethe chair does not raise and lower nor will it spin. The back of the chair as well as the headrest are fully adjustable. The back reclining angle is controlled by a ratchet type mechanism very much like the old style lawn chairs. You lift the brace, select the angle you want to be in and put the brace back in the lock and voila, gravity and pressure does the rest. The neck/headrest can be adjusted up and down as well as forward and back by the use of two oversized wingnut type fasteners. Just adjust the angle and height of the headrest to your perfect relaxing fit and presto, instant comfy chair for a nap or to watch the game in. Just add a beverage and a snack and you are in sports heaven! Besides the copper color and the Vintage look of this piece there are a couple of more facets of this piece that just make it more different and cool… first. Is that the typical style of barber or salon chair has a round foot, this one does not. It is footed with four feet made of cast metal and having been copper plated as well, just look really cool. Great OLD BARBER CHAIR. This chair was made by KOKEN BARBER SUPPLY CO. Patented in the EARLY 1900S. This chair has been PARTIALLY restored, the black leather upholstry is original, and still in pretty good condition, there are 3 patches to the seat as shown, the mohair head rest is original. the finish has been restored. every thing works as it should. The chair still has the original label on the back, there is a little of the side molding missing, as shown, but could be easily covered with a bracket to hold the strop. The metal has been painted copper, overall a great old barber chair. Weighs about 200 pounds but it will seperate into 2 pieces. so it would not be real hard to pick up. Antique Horse Head for Children's Antique Barber This is an original wood horse head off a Child's Barber Chair. Bought in France. I do not know the maker(would love it if some one does) We believe he is circa 1900. Based on others we have had. He is all hand carved. Both side of the head are the same, mane on both sides, black bridle, nice big round black eyes, red nostrils. The clamp on the bottom is original. A butterfly turn to tighten. He does have some normal wear and rubbing of the paint. And what look like an old repair of a crack in the wood, but you really have to look hard to find it. The Horse Head measures 16 inches high. And a little over 2.5 inches deep, and 7-8 inches front to back. Glad to answer any questions.

This heavy metal barber shop chair part has been used. It is just about 7 pounds unwrapped. Metal has wear as you see in the photos. Including rub and scuff, scratches, a few dips in the metal in places like upper left corner and bottom under Chicago probably from the pressure of someone's feet. Patina surface has discoloration and soiling even though I tried to wash it. I don't know hold old this part is, since Koch dates to the 1800's and I see mention into early 1900's. I'd say circa 1900 and if someone has more information to share I welcome your input, since I am not an expert in antique barber shop chairs.
