This is a beautiful and unusual lamp. I think it's solid brass-there is a slight crack down at the bottom which is old and not compromising the lamp's integrity. ART DECO UNIQUE AKRO AGATE TOWER LAMP
This Art Deco lamp is unique and rare in design and form. It is cylindrical translucent glass mounted on an akro agate base. With an akro agate cap and topped with a metal finial. The lower part of the cylinder has hand painted decoration that has peeled off in some areas. In my opinion, this hand- painted decoration can easily be restored. A part of the metal ring where the cap rests is broken; and that part of the base where the cylinder stands is chipped in several places. These issues do not however. Affect the external appearance of the lamp. The lamp is from the 20's to the 40's. Maker is unknown. Vtg Art Deco Gazelle TV Lamp Ceramic Mottled Green & Black
For your consideration is this lovely Art Deco Gazelle TV Lamp. I don't know who made it. Perhaps Haeger, or some other company. The lamp is a mottled green and black in color. It works perfectly. there's a push button switch on the lamp socket. It has a 58" cord that's in nice condition. Our gazelle measures 9 3/4" high x 13" wide x 4 1/2" deep. It does have a flaw. There is a flat chip on the back of his hoof. see last picture) It is on the back of the lamp. So no one will notice it. Someone painted it black, maybe with water colors. This is most likely a unique piece. This lamp is a marriage of a cast iron gooseneck base and neck and what appears to be an Emeralite fixture and unmarked Emeralite shade on the end. The fixture has an"E" on the on/ off knob and is an Eagle fixture that has"UNO" and Pat Dec 24. 12 on it. The shade is very high quality and has ground edges and is quite heavy and has a great glow when the lamp is on. This lamp appears to have been done by someone who was very good at what they do as everything is tight and solid. This is just an awesome piece with the Art Deco designed pair of Afghan hounds! There is a glaze flake in the front on the"tail" of the dog laying down. Doesn't appear to be any pottery missing.
