Because they were made in St. Nicolas d'Aliermont at Haute-Normandie region or province Picardie in Northern France but most American customers refer ... moreto all French provincial tall clocks as“Morbier” even Morbier(or Morez) clocks come from Comté region and are named after the place where they were produced and not the clock or movement type, as many people believe. St. Nicholas clocks. Due to the short pendulum, have an elegant and very narrow case, compared to Morbier cases, which commonly have violin-shaped sides in order to accommodate a large pendulum and St. Nicholas clocks are much more rare and hard to find. Because of its narrow case. This St. Nicholas clock can easily fit in the corner of the room and will take up minimal space there, but will look great in the center of the wall too– in both cases we recommend to attach it to the wall with a couple of screws for stability. This early 19th Century classical example of a St. Nicholas clock measures about 87” tall. 19” wide at the widest point and protrudes about 6” However, it is only 11 1/4” wide in the middle part because it is constructed for a short pendulum and the lower case is for the weights only. Antique American Tall Case / Grandfather Clock in Cherry c. 1815
Well. You may never find a more desirable early clock so you should consider this one. Here's the story; this clock has been sitting in a corner since 1963 and the movement is dusty but intact and runs/strikes properly when pressure is applied. The tin can weights are only half full with stones so some melted lead would take care of that. These 30 hour wood and brass movements are reliable when clean. The case is solid cherry. Never refinished in 200 years, original lock and key, original turned feet and finials, dovetailed bonnet, four delicate columns. It is likely Ohio or Pennsylvania. So. It looks to be 99% original. The brackets securing the dial to the seatboard are not original but functional. A lot of these clocks with convex dials did not have doors. I'm starting this relatively low. Here is an absolutely stunning AMERICAN TALL CASE CLOCK c 1830 in a mahogany case with BARLEY TWIST COLUMNS and carved corinthian caps. Sitting on delicate turned feet(original) This clock measures 100" to the top of the middle finial. The sender. Graceful form is typical of EASTERN U.S. CLOCKS and is likely NEW JERSEY. The dial is in original. Untouched condition showing one small paint loss. The dial and movement are original, on the original seatboard, and original to this case. The clock runs and strikes fine; the date(not uncommon) does not. I see one repair, to the trunk(see pics) All in all this is a classic SURVIVOR showing superior casework. Grandfather Clock Face Antique Hand Painted, Case also available
Stunning old clock face. In good vintage condition. This would make a great wall piece, or a simple craft-store movement could be fitted and it could be a clock again. The case is also available. It is crafted of hardwoods and has fine marquetry designs on it. Also beautiful. Needs some work to repair, but very restorable. $200 for the case only, plus shipping. I have now included pictures of the case. Please be forewarned. It is in bad condition with all the joints loose, some marquetry missing, the lock and key gone, and the finish needing attention. That said. It is a fine handcrafted case from what looks like the mid-1800s. All the marquetry is solid wood, hand cut and fitted, and the case has some nice bronze fittings, and is complete save for possibly some back pieces that are not seen. If you are interested. Antique Joseph Richmond, York, Tall Case Grandfather Clock c1757-1829
This is a Stunning Tall Joseph Richmond Grandfather Clock c1757-1829 Time& Date. From my research I believe Joseph Richmond of York made clocks from c1757-1829 and I believe this wonderful cock was made in the 1700s but I'm not 100% sure it is extremely old.This is a stunning case it has a fantastic burl wood on the lower part and a wonderful inlay trim. I believe the weight and pendulum are original but I think the chain has been replaced. The porcelain dial is still very nice a few areas of finish loss but over all it is still very beautiful. This clock is not perfect is has wear and some repairs over the years. The backboard has splits there old repair on the door and one on the upper edge of the hood. One piece in the center finial block or post is missing a but it could be removed and turned to the back. The one issue that confuses ... moreme is the second hand is not hooked to anything so it does not function. The clock runs and chimes and the date works also but the second hand is pretty much a decorative thing now. This is a very tall Grandfather Clock it stands 92" it is about 21" at widest point and it around 9 1/4" at deepest point. Antique English Tall Case / Grandfather Clock by George Slater
Here is a nice English tall case clock by George Slater and made 1841-1863 when Slater was in business in Burslem(Staffordshire) A professionally restored dial depicts. I suppose, King Lear. The oak case has a few small areas of veneer missing and is cross-banded with mahogany. It rests on turned feet and stands 95" tall. The movement has been cleaned and runs fine although the date gear is absent. The clock strikes on the hour on a cast iron bell. Shipping may be arranged at buyer's expense. Pickup is free. Conn Movement 1of 3 from Collector: Up for auction is the first of three Antique Seth Thomas Mantel Clocks which I have recently discovered here in New Hampshire from a single collector. Its wonderful to come across one of these early Seth Thomas clocks let alone three of them which were all proudly displayed together. I am uncertain as to the reason these three Seth Thomas clocks were collected by this individual but it makes me wonder if possibly a relative had worked for the company and these clocks were passed along through generations or if the collector had the intentions of working on these clocks to to bring them back to pristine condition or perhaps just the look and appeal of these beautiful antique clocks were enough for him to want to put them on display. Ingraham, Antique Black Mantel clock in excellent, running condition. It is quite old and made circa 1900. It is becoming very hard to find these clocks in near original condition. But here it is! It has a signed E. Ingraham Co. 8-day time and strike movement” which chimes on the half-hour on a bell and counts the hours on the hour on a cathedral gong with a mellow sound. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned. Oiled, and checked for proper operation. This clock will not need servicing and comes to you ready to enjoy. And is ready for the next 100 years. The case is made of a solid wood with a dark black finish. The dial is original. It is signed with"The ... moreE. Ingraham Company. Bristol, Conn. U.S.A. The finish is in great condition for almost 100 years old, with a few faded spots(see pictures) as would be expected. The moldings and columns are all original as are the cast trim parts. This is very handy so you don’t have to take the clock down off the shelf in order to adjust it for fast and slow. The metal(solid brass) around the dial is the original fancy. Beautiful old seth Thomas empire mantle clock! Brass an glass crystal regulator! It has a very nice faux mercury pendulum and the glass has no chips or cracks. Small discoloration on some of the brass but can be easily cleaned! I don't know why but I can not get it to work and I am no professional on these things but the verge seems not to catch you could say? But the pendulum does swing but only for a short while. I figured let someone who knows what they're doing work on this beautiful clock! This is being sold not working but totally worth the price! There are few imperfections throughout this clock. The front glass I believe has a small piece of paper in along the inside of the beveled glass it does not show unless opened. The movement barrels with sprig in them have some separation between the gear and the barrel. The faux mercury ... morependulum seems flawless. When polished this will be a show stopping mantle piece! This nice 48s movement could use some cleaning and the hammer does strike when moving the minute hand. Clock measures almost 10" tall and 7" across I believe it to be well worth 10x what I am starting it for but I love taking chances with auctions! This antique kitchen clock is an estate-sale find. It is in"as found" condition and needs work. But is 100 percent original and"un-messed-with. The glass is good, with its original Art Nouveau stenciling intact; the paper clock face is poor. Replacements are available from Klockit and other clock-repair supply houses. The cast-metal pendulum is ornate and depicts a scene with what appears to be a castle. This clock runs a few minutes. Then stops. The spring for the chime is broken or detached. The single"ding" on the 1/2 hour works; there's also some sort of key-wind alarm at the bottom. You wind it up and it hits the chime until it has unwound, I'm not certain how that feature is supposed to work! There are parts missing from the top, and the original finish is very dark and dull. A remnant of the instruction ... moretag remains on the back. No manufacturer's marks(you have to remove the face to see the clock works, I have not done that so I don't know if they are marked or not) Measures 21.5" tall by 14.75" wide, by 4.75" deep. I am looking to sell this L.Boivin Wall Clock. I am not sure of it's age but was told by my father that it was over 100 Years old when he purchased it in NYC in the 1970's. Below the 12 say's"L.Boivin" and above the 6"Sainpuits" Since my wife and I enjoy Burgundy. We surmised it was from the town of Sainpuits but cannot find any record of this clock maker. Perhaps someone can help identify and valuate this clock and be able to fix it.The internal clock does not work. But worked for the 30 years that we owned it and the hourly chime works well. This superb clock strikes on the hour and half hour. It is made by Aubert er Klaftenberger. The fine Swiss horologists of Geneva Switzerland, circa 1850. It is in perfect working order and keeps good time. The dial is perfect. Original, undamaged and unrestored, there are no cracks or chips whatsoever. There is a Sevres porcelain panel inset under the dial. The shape of this gorgeous clock is known as balloon. This fine time piece sits on a marble base with four fine ormolu feet. To find a superb example of this type of clock even having its original material back and finely pieced door is very rare. Here is an antique Ansonia Clock Co. wall clock in an mahogany case. The clock was acquired at an estate sale and was in the parlor for ages I was told. The face plate is 11 1/2" with a brass ring on the inside and the original glass dome glass is chip and crack free and also in a brass frame. The winding ey is included also. The case is clearly marked by the ansonia makers on the inside. The case however needs a bit TLC. The height of the case is 32"

Beautiful and very rare Antique Gustav Becker Wall Clock from around 1908 This stunning clock is an original German Gustav Becker Wall clock from about 1908. It has an 8 day movement and is spring driven. It has a beautiful gong striking at the full and half hour with GB logo. The clock is in good condition for his age. But has some wear and some woodworm holes. The wood is treated against woodworm, so now there are only decorative holes. The Case is made of solid Wood with Walnut veneer finish and beautiful decorated. At the left and right side there is a long right-angular glas s window where you can inspect the movement. The door has 3 faceted gla ss es. Which is very rare, where you can see the movement of the brass pendulum.The dial is in excellent condition and has red 24 hour numbers. Glass looks to be original with waves in the glass. The bent wood glass holders have been replaced but was done well. Paper over metal dial looks original with some staining. The glass face opens upward via a large latch and hinge system for winding. Inner case appears to have the original cream factory paint. Up for bids at auction: Up for bids today is this antique/art-deco Sessions electric alarm clock. This old clock was a find from an old estate in Southern Iowa and is just as found. It measures roughly 6 inches wide. 4 ¾ inches tall, and 2 ½ inches thick. The body is Bakelite and in great condition with no visible damage. The cord is frayed at the back of the clock and will need rewired. So I did not plug it in and test. The dials on the back turn the hands- one of the knobs seemed loose but I'm not a clock expert. The back plate is marked"MODEL 3A- 60 CYCLE- AC 110V- 25 WATT" and"THE SESSIONS COLCK CO- FORESTVILLE. CONN" along with old patent numbers. Just a great looking early clock for restoration.
