Antique hand painted toleware turned wooden humidor in the form of a lidded barrel. Original Circa 1880 hand painted toleware motifs on the lid along with around the sides of the jar. Good condition. There is a crack that runs up the side of the jar( see photo# 7) and a number of thumbprint size spots of white paint along with areas where the finish is shows ware. Incredible 19th century tole painted folk art primitive box with original paint. This measures 9 1/4" x 12 1/4" x 5 1/2" and features a tufted upholstered padded black silk upper lining The exterior has a wonderful original handpainted old finish depicting a flower and leaf motif front and a swan on one side. The lid is delicately trimmed and bears the monogram F.A.H. The most appealing aspect of this box is the patriotic eagle with a stars and stripes decorated shield on the side. Very folky. The scoop is hand carved and able to be hung by the leather strap. There is a small hole in the back of the handle that would accommodate a small nail, should you want to hang it flat on the wall. Nice lot of four vintage dating from the 40's Italian Florentine Wood Gesso Boxes in various sizes and shapes and one entirely hand painted pottery box from the 50's. Three of the Florentine boxes are the typical kind with gold gilt and paint and the fourth one is off white with painted vine leaves all around. The smallest of these is 3" square and the largest is 6" X 4" All are in good vintage condition with very mild gold loss. The pottery box that dates from the fifties is all hand painted with a nice Italian landscape on the top of the lid. The same lid has a floral design on the inside also. The box is numbered and signed on the bottom and it is also marked"Italy" It measures 3 1/2" long X 3" wide X 1 1/2" high. Big Tole Toleware Painted Floral Primitive Wood Wooden Spoon Fork/Spork Vintage
28" wooden primitive toleware spoon and fork(which is more like a spork really) They have orange-ish painted flowers on there. They sorta look like poinsettias but the color seems wrong. The finish or lacquer? has turned gray and is crazing/flaking off. It does give it a very shabby chic look. Some paint has went with it but not bad. They feel very"dry" but it is because of the flaking finish. I would leave them exactly like they are but spray with a clear polyurethane to preserve them in their current state and keep them from further deterioration. In AS IS condition. I have never seen a wood stand like this as they are usually metal. Each foot is brass tipped. And all of the suction cups where the tray sits are still there although I don’t know how much suction they would still have in them. The stand is in very good condition. It looks as though there has been a repair to one leg when it joins on the bottom, but the repair was good and the stand is sturdy. The stand folds flat for storage, but when fully open, the stand is 18 ½” across and 17 ½” tall. The floral and fruit painting on the tray is beautiful and vibrant with still rich colors. There is a brown fleur de lis border painted around the floral. There is wear to the black around the ... moreedges. But none to the painting. The tray measures 25 by 19 ½” I ship most of my items.
