Fresh out of an estate in Philadelphia comes an Original Late 1700's or early 1800's Colonial Hand Forged(not one part of this tray has been machined) Tole Ware Tray with Hand Painted Stencil work(with checking and Crazing one would expect from a painting of this age) You can actually see the hammer marks as well as the plier marks to the hand cut binding pieces. This is truly a conversation piece. This is a large tray(much larger than the reproductions of the late 1800's) It measures 26 in wide and 19 in. tall. Vintage Tole Ware Hand Painted Bowl and Pitcher
This auction is for both the hand painted tole ware bowl and pitcher. The bowl is painted featuring apple and cranberry?clusters with leaves on two panels and(what appear to me to be) dogwood blossoms on the other two panels. There is a signature on the back of the bowl of"A.E. Loomis Jan.18. 1960" There is some minor paint loss of the gold paint on the edge. The bowl measures approximately 12 inches in diameter and about 3 1/2 inches high. The pitcher is painted with a floral design in multiple colors. The design does not match the bowl. But is definitely complementary. The pitcher measures about 4 inches high and 4 inches from the tip of the spout to the widest part of the handle. Allitems are previously owned. The lamp has metal flowers and leaves in various soft pastel colors. Below the flowers is a marble and gold painted wood base. The marble is very nice and has a translucent quality to it. It has an embossed"MADE IN ITALY" attached metal tag. This is an authentic piece of vintage Italian tole. Not a modern reproduction. The lamp measures approx. 22 1/2" tall from the base to the top of the socket. With the shade it is 33 inches tall. This is from an estate sale in Boone. Iowa and it is in great condition for its age of over 50yrs. The only signs of age I could find is that there is a very shallow chip to gold paint on the wooden base, which could be easily repaired with a little acrylic paint. These are two vintage tole ware lamps which are very unusual. They measure about 13" in diameter. They are table lamps and the flat round green piece in the center is where the electric part is. These four tole ware painted trays are very pretty. They have a black background with flower blossoms and leaves painted in the center. You get 4 of them with your purchase. They measure approximately 9 1/4" long and 6 3/4" wide. They are vintage so the black on the outer area of the tray has some wear places but the painted flowers are in great condition. The black could easily be touched up with paint if you wanted. I did not touch up any of the paint on the trays. The trays are not dented or cracked and overall these are in very good condition.
