Large Vintage Cream Tole Painted Toleware Serving Tray w Handles Flowers in VGC
This is a beautiful tole painted. Metal serving tray featuring gorgeous flowers and gold scrolls. The tray is large measuring 16.5 inches tall(up and down) by 25 inches(side to side) I sell a lot of tole tv trays and they are usually in more distressed condition. This tray, while not perfect, has only minimal wear to the tray itself-very few and light scratches. Unfortunately the handles have some wear to the outer edges. One has light wear and the other has more paint loss/tarnishing-no rust though. Back side shows a very minor dent and only minimal wear. Please magnify and see all photos. Apologies for the shadows. Sticker on the back tell us Fine Arts Studio HAND PAINTED PHILA. 6 PA I can not say for sure when it dates to, but others on the Internet with the same sticker on them are being identified as 1940s- 1950s, so that would be my best guess. Metal tray is most likely either tin or steel. Both sides have been painted so it is difficult to know for sure which metal is under the paint. The hand painted flowers are in very good condition without chipping or wear. But there is some wear to the black paint, particularly on the edges and bottom corners. There are also some small spots of pitting or rusting on the front of the tray. Generally very good condition for age though and wear is conducive with age and use. Nice vintage Toleware Green Metal handpainted Serving Tray with a slight scalloped border. It is in very good pre owned condition and measures 18 3/4" x 13 1/4" and 3/4" high. The tray is a deep sage green with handpainted orange poppies on each side with green leaves and the initials"B.C. at the bottom. The back of the tray is a little lighter green and sits flat. The tray has no dents and is clean with some minor paint loss but a nice solid impressive tray.
