LIFE'S JUST A BOWL OF CHERRIES.AND FRUIT. Just in time for seasonal home decorating winter needs comes this vintage small sized NashCo Products. New York hand painted small scalloped Tin Tole Tray featuring hand painted fruits in the center depicting a plump orange, seed dimpled strawberries, and highlighted grape clusters. PLEASE NOTE this piece is NOT marked but is identical and came from same NJ estate as the fruit tray that sold last week. They were probably once a pair. Nashco Products made a line of colonial revival hand painted tin serving trays in the period 1920-1950 post war years reminiscent of the antique pieces sold by peddlars house to house in the horse drawn wagon days. Now. In a growing homeowner America, where consumer demand for retail products grew, they found their niche in creating lovely tin articles for kitchen ... moreuse and display. Many of their production wares are easily found, but tend to be overized trays difficult to store and use in today's smaller dwellings. This petite tray is only 7" x 8" with a scalloped gilded edge all original as made.a nice little winter fruit salad grouping of yellow gold and dark red colors of the season all on matte black surface front and back fully painted. This little gem is in excellent perfect condition for the tole collector complete with wire stretch wall hanger ready to go for any small space anywhere in your home. The hanger was twisted during photo shoot. I have straightened and tightened it now to perfection. Also, the fingerprints and dust have been corrected and removed with a terry cloth towel scrubbing after photo shoot as found. Unusual. Miniature Toleware hand painted tin tray. This tray has some age and a little paint wear on some of the cherries. There is also some over rub marks as you can see in the photos. It is also is about 1 1/8” deep. The handles left and right are circular rolled under. Please refer to the scan of the underside for reference. The stenciled design in cream. Green and red paint on both left and right sides is beautiful and carries over along the top and bottom sides. There appears to be an under wash of a copper color that shows through the paint in various areas and quite a lot on the reverse side. The piece of older tape on the reverse mentions the fact that at one time the piece had four balled feet, one at each corner. These however are no longer present. The character of the tray does not suffer with them missing. ... moreThe seams of the tin are tight with the exception of one ¾”slight split in the tin seam running from the base of the tray diagonally to the top corner. Nothing really serious. There are a couple of older light scratches in the base area. A great addition to any Toleware, Tole, Tin Painted Tin, Tableware, Primitive or Americana collection. Tin Tole Tip Tray Black Hand Painted Flowers Vintage
I don't know much at all about these things. its yard sale season and I try to grab vintage items no matter what they are) I actually had to search eBay just to figure out what to call it and to see what section to put it in. The tray is roughly 7 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches. I would give it a 94 to 95 out of 100% in condition. There are some small scratches that you have to hold the tray at an angle to see on the front. And a couple spots on bottom, but as you can see from pics it is a BEAUTIFUL- SOLID piece. I believe these are HAND Painted and this one is signed by the painter. TOO you can see on the back there is a HALLMARK stamp but I have no idea what company it is from. Thanks for looking!

This tray has an open work rim with a delicate pattern of tiny holes called lacy or lacework in gold. The trays were usually blank and the decorating was known as flowering. Individuals or companys who hired painters produced works of art known as toleware which means painting on metal. Very large trays such as this were called butlers. Tray measures 18" in diameter& 1 1/3" high. Condition is excellent for its age- some paint loss and scratches on the rear and a few rough spots on the front. Vintage Hand Painted toleware bread tray tin ND1728
Unusual tole painted tin tray or bread basket measures 11" x 6 3/4" and is 2" deep at the center point. The design is done in dark green. Mustard and two shades of a russet pumpkin color. The finish is rough and aged but there is no paint loss and no dents in the tin. Tole painting became popular again in the mid 20th century and we believe this to be an example from that time period. Vintage Black Tin Toleware Tray Gold Fruits Flowers
This is for a vintage octagonal shaped tin tole ware tray that is decorated with mostly gold fruits and flowers. With a little red and green on a black background. The tray is 18 1/4 inches long and 13 1/2 inches wide. It is in very good condition, there is scratching to the back side, due to use, there is no rust and the front may have a small thin scratch or two and slight chips of paint missing here and there, as is common with these items. Vintage Rectangular Hand Painted Tin Tray ND880
Very pretty 12" x 17" tole tray. The design is done in gold powders and gold leaf highlighted in umber and etched to define the flower petals. The work is reasonably well-skilled and done by M.B. in 1954 as indicated in the signature on the reverse. It shows some signs of use: scratches on the back. Two small areas of paint loss on the rim one of 1/4" x 1/16" and one 1/2" x 1/8" There is a rough mark on the floor of the tray just above the large flower which can be seen in photo#3 and a tiny dent with no paint loss that appears as a gray dot on photo#3 to the right above the leaf spray.
