Hello. And welcome to my auction. This auction is for a spectacular poinsettia red Ransburg Daisy cookie jar. It is a model number 706 cookie jar. The pattern is"Daisy on Red" This cookie jar is hand painted from Era I in the Ransburg Collection and Era I is from the 1930's through the 1950's. It measures 8" x 7.5" x 7.5" The cookie jar is in excellent used vintage condition. The base paint is barely worn. The daisy pattern has some minor paint loss. Clearly seen in the photo's. There is some minor thinning around the top part of the handles and some thinning to the base paint of the from. There are no chips or cracks on the jar. This jar is structurally sound. Stunning Hand Painted Large Tole Covered Bucket Large Cabbage Roses Pink Red
Available for auction/purchase is an incredible hand painted large covered bucket. It measures 14 1/4" tall by 15 3/8" in diameter at the top and 121/4" diameter at the bottom. I have owned this for about 18 years and have never seen one like it since. The spotless clean bucket is not metal like traditional tole painting is done on. But instead it is a very hard and dense cardboard. It is super rigid and you cannot dent it by pushing on it. very strong. The over all color and patina of this bucket is so warm and always looked like rich worn leather to me. The top lid, as well as one side of the large bucket, are adorned with beautiful cabbage roses done in pinks and reds along side chartreuse green ferns. Both the cover and bucket appear to have been polyurethaned in order to preserved the wonderful hand painting. I have used ... morethis for many things over the years(Evergreens at the Holidays, hung the cover on wall as artwork, sewing.knitting supply storage, displayed on top of hutch) and have always gotten many compliments on it. Along the way someone said that it was a butter bucket, but I was ever able to confirm that. Overall, the condition of the painting is very nice and well preserved, although the brown metal rim at the top and bottom of the bucket does show paint loss and chips. I don't know the age of this piece- but the previous owner(of a very high end estate) told me it was an very expensive piece purchased at a high-end Atlanta antiques store.
