The lamp works great. The leaves and stems are made of a metal and the whi te roses are a ceramic material. T he base looks like some kind of hard press board with paint. S o me of the pai nt has chipped on the edge of the bottom. I don't k now if all of the roses are there. There might be a couple missing. I see some stems without flowers on the ends. The r oses were applied to the stems and many are loose but they don't come off. There are 3 patches of flowers on the base of the lamp and one has a broken peddle. You are bidding on a fantastic vintage tole lamp in the French Bouillotte style. The lamp measures approximately 25.75" tall from bottom to top of finial. The base is approximately 7.25" wide at it's widest point. The shade meaures approximately 15" in diameter and is approximately 6.5" tall. This lamp features 3 candle style sockets that take standard size bulb stems. A classic tole metal shade, and the original arrow shaped finial. It's black in color with fabulous gold detail embellishments. The lamp works beautifully. The switch can be twisted to 4 different positions-off. 1 bulb lit, 2 bulbs lit, or all 3 bulbs lit. One of the plastic candle socket covers has some cracking. This could easily be replaced or positioned to be conspicious. The lamp itself is in very good condition with only minor marks& dings ... moreconsistent with it's age. Vintage Toleware PARTRIDGE In PEAR TREE Metal Leaves Tole Table Lamp Chippy 1950s to 1960s tole metal painted lamp with partridge/bird in a pear tree with a planter's pot base. The mid century lamp is wonderful; we think it started out it with a gilded pot base that was painted white- probably in the 1960s to late 1970s. There are 2 pears and 1 partridge amidst the leafy limbs. We think it was spray painted as redidual paint appears on the main stem and at least one lower leaf. Please see pictures. The lamp is fully functional and we believe the socket has been replaced- recently. We recommend rewiring or at the very least an electrical inspection. It is in great chippy paint condition and there may be a leaf or two that is missing- it is not obvious. So we do not know. The lamp measures approximately 24" high including harp. It has an embossed"MADE IN ITALY" attached metal tag. This is an authentic piece of vintage Italian tole. Not a modern reproduction. The lamp measures approx. 22 1/2" tall from the base to the top of the socket. With the shade it is 33 inches tall. This is from an estate sale in Boone. Iowa and it is in great condition for its age of over 50yrs. The only signs of age I could find is that there is a very shallow chip to gold paint on the wooden base, which could be easily repaired with a little acrylic paint. As it is now it is 20"H. Two condition notes. One. There is a very shallow dent on one side. Does not stand out at all. It's very minor. The other is that I believe there was a metal frame that held up the shade. For now it works to just rest it atop the bottom half but the bulb peeks out above the top this way. Jerry rigging a couple old wire hangers would work. The base is weighted for support. You could always repaint it if you don't like the original yellow finish. Vintage Mid Century Black And Gold Toleware Metal Wall Lamp
Up for auction is a nice Vintage Black and Gold Metal Toleware Wall Lamp. The shade has scalloped edging around the bottom of it and gold leaf around the center. There is a light scuff on the shade and a couple of places around the edge that the black paint has been rubbed off. It may have had a gold reticulated piece that went around the top edge but is missing. I have seen others listed that do not have that piece so that is why I am not sure it originally had it or not. The shade measures 7 7/8" across and is 4 1/4" high. It has the key style on and off switch. The sconce part that mounts to the wall has gold leaf pattern on the wall plate. It looks like the gold final has been replace. All the paint to this piece is original. The lamp has been tested and it does work. The chimney is included.
