This is a vintage. Gold gilt florentine magazine holder. Recently purchased at an estate sale, I am unsure of it's age. It is unmarked. In good, used and vintage condition, there are a few issues worth mentioning. Most importantly, there is a small dent and crack in the wood on one of the bottom edges. This can be seen in the second picture. In addition, it looks like there is another hairline crack on one of the feet. I can't tell if it is a manufacturing thing of a flaw. Finally, the entire piece has some paint loss and some small chips. The rack measures about 14 1/2" across, 17" tall and 7" deep. Still very pretty, it will make a useful addition to any room. 3 Antique Italian Florentine Gilt/Tole Fleur de Lis Green&Gold Shelves-RARE-VGC
Offered is a set of three(3) Antique Italian Florentine Fleur de Lis shelves. These shelves belonged to a man I bought a house from and I was told they belonged to his grandfather. The gentlemen I bought these from was about 70 years old then(I didn't ask his actual age. But he was pretty old and had never lived in another house, other than the house I bought from him) Now, this was back in 1990, when I bought the house and I literally fell in love with these shelves and although I was just a novice collector, the previous owner knew he had something special. I had more money than brains, back then, and I paid him whatever it was he wanted for them.I do not recall the actual $ amount, BUT I recall having to go to a bank to acquire the funds. Anyway, I got them and since hubby and I are trying to downsize, these just have to go. They are ... morenot without flaws.There are some scratches/place s missing paint. As shown in the photos but I don't feel any of the mars distract from the overall lovliness of the shelves(that is my opinion) There is a pattern to the top of the shelves. As shown in the photos and one shelf has a pretty good scratch on the shelf top. There is a piece of tape on the back of one of the shelves and that shelf's back sticks out maybe 1/8" or so from the shelf top. It is securely attached and the hanger is also attached to the back, but not to the corner where it belongs.please see photos and be sure to ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Finding three matching shelves from over 100 years ago, probably closer to 150 years ago is rather unusual, if not unheard of.

Shabby Italian Florentine Vintage Tole Wood Romantic Couple Jewelry Trinket Box
This lovely antique Florentine trinket box has been in the family for many years. It was a gift to my great aunt when she moved to New York from Italy. It is in excellent. Clean condition for its age. The technique used to make this box is more laborious than others you might find today. The wood box is prepared. A layer of gesso is brused on and a layer of deep red base paint. The red base paint is used to being out the rich color of the gold leaf. The raised designe is a glue gesso mix, a little thicker than Elmer's glue, and hand applied. Once dried a layer of tacky glue is brushed on and the gold leaf is then applied to that. Often a coat of wax is rubbed on, or tinted varnish, to protect the gold leaf and give it an antiqued look. I'm very fond of this piece. But it's time to downsize and this gem needs a new home. This auction is for a total of 6 used vintage"Shabby Chic" Florentine Italian Tole items. I have a small tray. A small trinket box, 3 coasters, and a small holder with a lid. The tray, box and coasters all have red coloring and gold gilt, and look like they go together. I believe the items(except for the little holder) are made of Balsa wood. The little holder is made of simulated leather that is laminated onto cardboard. TRAY The small hand painted tray is decorated with a patterned design of gold gilt set against a red background. It has gold gilt trim with small black accents. The edges are scalloped. It measures approximately 12" by 8 1/4" It has some paint ... morewear and scratches on the red and gold gilt decorations. There is an area with a dark stain mark. There is wear underneath the tray. TRINKET BOX The small hand painted wooden trinket or jewelry box is decorated with a patterned design of gold gilt set against a red background. It has gold gilt trim with small black accents. Unpainted wood is on the inside of the box. It measures 4 3/4" long by 3 1/2" wide by 1 13/16" high. It has paint wear and scratches on the red and gold gilt decorations. The top of the wooden box is attached to the bottom of the box with eye hooks. It does have some wood wear from use in the areas where the eye hooks are attached. But the lid's function is not affected by the wear. COASTERS The 3 coasters also have red backgrounds gold gilt designs and trim. Two of the coasters have small black accents and the third one has small blue accents. Each one has a different design in the middle. They have some wear from age and use. The coasters measure 4" in diameter. SMALL HOLDER The last item that is in this lot is small holder with a lid. It is burnt orange in color and has very tiny gold colored flowers on top of the lid. Powered by FOR SALE: A Lot-of-4. Vintage previously-owned, Toleware Italian Florentine Gilded candle holders(x2) candy/bon-bon dish, and compote- four(4) beautiful pieces in total. Each gilded Toleware piece has a delicate. Ornate base; where the bottom of the metal frame has a large leaf design, inside a round ring with a stand in the center. The sepals of the roses are turned down, while the rose flower is upright. The roses and leaves are soldered onto the frame. Here is an Old Italian Florentine Tole Wood Jewelry Box. The box is Gold and Aqua Blue. The box is 7 1/2" tall. 13 3/4" long and 7 1/4" deep. The Jewelry Box has all it drawers and knobs. The Box is in Great used condition for its age with a nice patina; there are paint chips along the edges and No major breaks, cracks, or splits.
