VINTAGE HAMILTON WOODEN PRINTER'S TYPE DRAWER TRAY This is a neat old printer's type drawer. It has multi-shaped compartments. I have included a photo of a manufacturer's mark that is stamped in the tray. It is The Hamilton Mfg Co Two Rivers. Wis. Also stamped in the tray is New Departure Patented. The tray has a steel handle stamped HAMILTON and a cutout slot that identifies what font of type the drawer held. The drawer is very nice condition with a wood back. I have not done any cleaning on the drawer. I am listing three of these identical drawers. They are all in similar condition. This Printers drawer is in very good condition with all dividers in tact. Joints are tight. And the back is solid. Does have a few hairline cracks, and ink spots. The handle has been removed, and a hanger was attached to the back, so apparently it was used as a shadow box. Measures 32" high x 16" wide with over 80 compartments. Nice estate item.

Up for sale: A 1907 Hamilton printers case. This is one of the older cases on Ebay. We have several from the same unit and the bottom case handle is embossed with the date of 1907. This was back in the day of Teddy Rosevelt. When only 8% of population had phones, few had electricity, and few had cars. Average wage was 22 cents per hour and 95% of births were at home. The type used in these cases were just about the only way to communicate. Quite a different era. If these cases could only talk. We talk for them as they do make a good conversation piece. These cases are now being used for quite a variety of clever uses. All types of collections. Fly fishing flies, ammunition, thimbles, marbles, etc. One fellow we met placed a piece of glass on them and created beautiful coffee tables. A truly unique piece of history. An original wood printers type set drawer from the patented brand"New Departure" Polhemus cabinet manufactured by The Hamilton Mfg Co in approximately 1896. This drawer is in excellent condition and is approximately 21 1/2 inches X 21 3/4 inches. It has 110 individual compartments. It has two stamped engravings on it which are somewhat hard to distinguish on the picture. Up for sale: Lot of 4 1907 Hamilton printers cases. These are some of the older cases on Ebay. We have several from the same unit and the bottom case handle is embossed with the date of 1907. This was back in the day of Teddy Roosevelt. When only 8% of population had phones, few had electricity, and few had cars. Average wage was 22 cents per hour and 95% of births were at home. The type used in these cases were just about the only way to communicate. Quite a different era. If these cases could only talk. We talk for them as they do make a good conversation piece. These cases are now being used for quite a variety of clever uses. All types of collections. Fly fishing flies, ammunition, thimbles, marbles, etc. One fellow we met placed a piece of glass on them and created beautiful coffee tables. Luckily this one survived for 100 years waiting ... morefor someone to put to good use. These cases measures 21-3/4 wide x 16-1/2 inches deep(19-1/2 counting the extensions) and are just over an inch thick. Please see photos for condition. There are two small holes in the top back for hanging. They were there when I acquired the piece. This piece is entirely original- It has not been sanded. Painted, stained, or varnished. VINTAGE HAMILTON PRINTERS TRAY/DRAWER-89-SLOTS-READY TO HANG
If you are looking for that nice primitive tray with a great patina to start putting your collectibles and small knickknacks in. Then this tray is for you. This tray is just over 32" wide, 16 1/2" high and 1 1/2" in depth. This tray has 89 different size slots. The different size slots were larger for vowels and got progressively smaller for consonants, numbers and punctuation marks. The great patina shows off the trays age and use. It has been well used over the years but has withstood the test of time. It is structurally sound. This tray has 2 small eye screws behind the handle and needs only a short piece of wire to be ready to hang and put to use. It is dusty and will probably need to be cleaned up to your liking. Vintage Hamilton Printer Typeset Tray Drawer-Shadow Box-89 Slots-16 by 32-No 1
Here for sale is a Hamilton type drawer(shadow box) This drawer measures about 32" long and 16 1/2 Inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall. It has a wooden back. It also has a Hamilton handle which has some wear. The top where the handle is located has been painted. There are various stickers and markings on each drawer as shown in posted photos. The name Dahlen has been written on the small side of each drawer. The drawer is in very good used condition. Having been used in a printing shop, with some wear commensurate with age as shown in the photos. There is writing on some of the drawers and age and use related bumping. I have 12 of these available which I am selling in separate auctions on E-bay. This is the actual drawer you are bidding on.
