Up for auction is a painted vintage style Italian Florentine jewelry box. I'm not sure if it is vintage or a reproduction because it looks new inside. Perhaps it was never used. It is all wood and painted in gold and green has black accents on drawers and top has red and yellow tulip like flowers along with other design.Measures approx 6" long, 2" tall and 4 1/8"deep at base. It's not perfect, but in pretty good shape considering this is one of the old ones. There are a few scratches on the paint(please see all pics) but not bad and it still displays very well. This plaque measures a little over 11 1/4" long and is almost 5 1/4" wide. It's 3/8" thick. It has a hanger on the back. You can see the age of the piece by looking on the back. Vintage Italian Renaissance Italy Florentine Gold Gilt Gesso Wooden Wood Box
Here's a very old Florentine wood with a gesso design. Gold paint/gilt trinket box with a romantic picture on top. It's small, measuring 4" square and is a little over 1 1/2" tall. It has 2 crude metal hinges on the back. The gold paint isn't perfect, and is scratched up here and there due to age, especially on the corners, but it is still nice and the gold paint that is there shines very brightly and it displays very well. I guess you'd say it has a very nice, overall patina. You can see how old it is by the inside of the box. The wood is sturdy. This is a vintage. Gold gilt florentine magazine holder. Recently purchased at an estate sale, I am unsure of it's age. It is unmarked. In good, used and vintage condition, there are a few issues worth mentioning. Most importantly, there is a small dent and crack in the wood on one of the bottom edges. This can be seen in the second picture. In addition, it looks like there is another hairline crack on one of the feet. I can't tell if it is a manufacturing thing of a flaw. Finally, the entire piece has some paint loss and some small chips. The rack measures about 14 1/2" across, 17" tall and 7" deep. Still very pretty, it will make a useful addition to any room. Lot Of 5 Vintage Italian Florentine Boxes Gesso Gilt Wood Hand Painted Pottery
Nice lot of four vintage dating from the 40's Italian Florentine Wood Gesso Boxes in various sizes and shapes and one entirely hand painted pottery box from the 50's. Three of the Florentine boxes are the typical kind with gold gilt and paint and the fourth one is off white with painted vine leaves all around. The smallest of these is 3" square and the largest is 6" X 4" All are in good vintage condition with very mild gold loss. The pottery box that dates from the fifties is all hand painted with a nice Italian landscape on the top of the lid. The same lid has a floral design on the inside also. And when open, the left side has a medieval print of Giotto's Painting of St. Francis of Assisi, entitled"San Francesco Parla Agli Uccelli, the right has St. Francis' A Simple Prayer"see photo) When open the icon measures 11 1/4" wide. Closed, 5" It is 7 1/2" tall, the back, at the spine, is incised: G. SERRAGLINI FIRENZE. Nice small vintage Italian Florentine gold gilt mirror in great condition. It measures 13" long X 8 1/2" wide. On the back it is printed in black"Made in Italy" and there is also a sticker from a Colony furniture store in Detroit and a number. There is a tear on the back on the red backing and the mirror shows some discoloration on the inside finish from age. This only adds to its vintage beauty. Lot 5 Vintage Italian Florentine Gold Gilt Wood Picture Frames Birds St. Francis
Five piece lot of all vintage Italian Florentine Gold Gilt Wood Picture Frames and Bird Prints. In this lot. One is a double oval picture frame which is all in gold gilt and it is in very good condition with its original paper sticker on the back stating that it is hand made in Florentia Italy. It measures 9" X 8" The second double picture frame is s rectangular one which opens up or unfolds with a hinge in between the two frames and holds them together. These frames measure(each one) 5 1/2" X 4 1/2" They are in good condition with very mild loss to their finish, but one is missing its peach satin back. This could be replaced with another piece of cardboard or replace both backings so that they look the same. The third item also is a double frame, but this one is made to look like a book and has a very pretty design on ... morethe two ends which show when it is folded. On the inside of one side is a print of St Francis with animals and on the opposite side is"A Simple Prayer" signed at the bottom St Francis. This one is in very good condition.
