Vintage Italian Renaissance Italy Florentine Gold Gilt Gesso Wooden Wood Box
Here's a very old Florentine wood with a gesso design. Gold paint/gilt trinket box with a romantic picture on top. It's small, measuring 4" square and is a little over 1 1/2" tall. It has 2 crude metal hinges on the back. The gold paint isn't perfect, and is scratched up here and there due to age, especially on the corners, but it is still nice and the gold paint that is there shines very brightly and it displays very well. I guess you'd say it has a very nice, overall patina. You can see how old it is by the inside of the box. The wood is sturdy. These boxes that have the gesso are the hardest ones to find if you are into collecting Florentine stuff! Shipping via USPS will be $3.00. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

This is a vintage. Gold gilt florentine magazine holder. Recently purchased at an estate sale, I am unsure of it's age. It is unmarked. In good, used and vintage condition, there are a few issues worth mentioning. Most importantly, there is a small dent and crack in the wood on one of the bottom edges. This can be seen in the second picture. In addition, it looks like there is another hairline crack on one of the feet. I can't tell if it is a manufacturing thing of a flaw. Finally, the entire piece has some paint loss and some small chips. The rack measures about 14 1/2" across, 17" tall and 7" deep. Still very pretty, it will make a useful addition to any room. For your consideration is this vintage 1950-60's Italian Florentine easel and landscape picture by Corot. The gold/gilt and cream easel is 10 1/4" tall and 5" wide. It has a gold medallion at the top. The picture measures 7 3/4" x 5 3/4" The easel has its original metal chain. Both the easel and the picture have the typical distressed finish. Often this is called Hollywood Regency style. The easel is stamped"Made in Italy" underneath the stand. The picture has its original triangular shape hook. vintage Florentine gold painted wood frame with oval reproduction print of a woman in Napoleonic era clothing. the frame is 5 inches tall and 4 1/4 inches wide. the oval opening is 3 3/4 inches tall. the woman has an ivory pick in her hair. The art has a few tiny areas of wear in her hair, this could easily be fixed with a pencil. on the back is the word"Italy" also there is a hanger on the back for hanging on a wall. there is no glass, this was made without glass, I haven't removed the back, it is screwed on. low price due to flaw.
