There are one or two very tiny bubbles in the glass, and a larger one. Just off-centre, in the base which can be seen looking down through the stem. Finger bowl or decanter, perhaps. It has beautifully executed design featuring thumb cuts and grooves around the slightly scalloped rim of the stand and star cut under the base. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MILK GLASS & PINK OVERLAY CUT GLASS CHEROOT CIGARETTE HOLDER.
For your consideration and for auction I offer a LATE 19TH CENTURY GLASS CHEROOT HOLDER. This cheroot holder is of a size that would suggest that it would have held cigars or cheroots rather than cigarettes. This glass holder has been free blown rather than moulded and hand decorated by cutting into the overlaid glass. Overlaid glass wasn't very easy to produce. Layers of glass would be gathered one on top of each other until the desired effect had been reached. In this case a white glass was used as the base metal and then a pink coloured layer was applied. After the piece had cooled. The glass was cut to show the different colour layers of glass in the required patterns. This technique was used for cologne and scent bottles from the same period. Similar holders were produced in the Stourbridge area but I won't hesitate to say that ... morethis piece is of Bohemian origin. T he holder. Which would date to around 1880-1900, is 3.25 inches in length from mouthpiece to the open end and free from any damage. This example has been used. Stains are to be found on the inside of the holder and it is suggested that these types of holders gave a very pleasing and much cooler smoke than without the holder. Antique Victorian Oil Bottle Dispenser; Cut Glass, Cruet Set
This is an antique bottle with stopper. Probably for oil and may well have been part of a cruet set at sometime. The stopper has been blown(probably by hand) with a hollow body. The tongue has been broken off from the blowing iron and has not been ground down. It has a ring of six individual ovoid cuts on it. The bottle itself has the mark on the base were the pontil iron was attached. The lip has been shaped to make pouring easy. It is decorated with a floral scene which may represent the content of the bottle ie wine vinegar, or a flavoured oil. The oil bottle is in very good condition. Although there are a couple of small chips on the tongue of the stopper. The oil bottle weighs about 164 grams. And is approximately 18 cm in height and 5 cm in diameter. The stems also have a clear teardrop or hollow within them. The glasses each stand 118 mm tall. The upper rim diameter is 100 mm and the base rim diameter is 80 mm. The glasses are both in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or damage. One glass has a small air bubble within the body of the glass as pictured.

A set of six good quality Antique late Victorian large rummers. They are cut in the Anglo Irish style from around 1800 but date much later circa 1890. The stems have disc knops and the feet are slightly conical with rough snapped pontils. They are hand made and hand cut and are well crafted and would have been expensive items in their day. They are fine for use today and would make good multi-purpose glasses. They would be suitable as large wine glass goblets. Probably best for red wine, the design would also suit some spirits such as whisky, and they would also make good water goblets. Capacity: just over 400 ml per glass. Please note that due to their hand made nature there are slight differences between the glasses. Entirely hand blown and cut it remains a beautiful yet extremely useable item. Large hollow stopper with cut star top(fits like a glove) body cut with a plaid& star design with star cut base. Item remains in wonderful original. Clean condition with no damage or notable wear. Jar with stopper measures approx. 4.25" 11cm) tall. Weight 544g. Antique Victorian Fine Cut Glass Footed Shaft& Globe Decanter Greek Key c 1870 Nice Victorian Footed Shaft and Globe Decanter Beautifully Heavily Engraved Body- Engraved Air Tear Stopper. Offered for sale with no reserve! Here we have a most attractive and high quality antique cut glass decanter with a beautifully engraved design featuring Greek key pattern. It has a footed shaft and globe shape and has a very intricate and appealing engraved design. The cylindrical engraved stopper has air tear in the middle with a flat top. The dimensions for the decanter are approximately 10 1/4 inches tall. Body diameter of 5 inches and the base diameter is 3 inches. It is a heavy piece at 866g unpacked. Condition is outlined above. Circa 1880-1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The lustre measures approx 9 1/2 inches(240mm) tall and is made from beautiful red cut glass. The clear. Cut glass drops are suspended from a faceted cut glass crown(see photos) The octagonal central column is engraved with a woodland scene including a deer and a hare( see photos) It is an exceptional piece of work. As can be seen from the photographs it is in good original condition. With some light wear in keeping with its age. There are some small chips to the base of the column ... moreand the bottom edge of tyhe base( see photos) but no other no damage or repairs. This is a very fine example of its type. I've listed three antique glass decanters this week. Antique early Victorian. Facet& thumb cut slander shaft g lass decanter with spire window stopper, circa 1840's. This auction is for a wonderfully tall and slender late 19th century glass decanter with a classic multi thumb cut shaft neck. This piece has a flower cut motif around it's bulbous blown body and comes with it's original six window spire. Ground fit stopper. Star cut and mould blown base. It's style and design is typical of it's period and would date nicely to the early Victorian period, circa 1840's. The silver lid unscrews to reveal a tiny original glass stopper which fits snugly within the bottle. The blown glass vessel is extremely well cut with fan shapes and stars ribbed edges. Dimensions: Length: 10 cm or 4 inches Width: 2.7 cm or 1 inches Condition: In very good antique condition given its substantial age.
