For your consideration is one(1) vintage serving tray with a copy of the 1875 Central Park map by Oscar Hinrichs. The large original of which is in the Library of Congress permanent collection. The very cool antique map is inlaid into the tray. Lovely colors and design with intricate details. Interesting to see how the park has evolved since the late 1800s and to see it the way Olmstead had executed it. Here you are looking at a very rare piece of Mauchline Ware. It is a small pin dish with the"Summit Of Mount Washington" on it. The scene is a large building with a train sitting infront. It was the mountain where the fastest recorded wind speed was recorded(but has since been broken) This beautiful piece measures 3 1/4 inches in diameter and is 5/8 inches tall. The only slight imperfection on this is a nick on the rim that I think is original to the piece necause it falls on a knot in the wood. Very Rare Shepard Norwell Co Boston Inlaid Wooden Tray
Up for bid is a very rare wooden tray. Made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It has an inlaid decoration in the middle, which is in beautiful shape. The tray has some nicks in it but nothing serious on top. The bottom has some damage to the wood(see pictures) but you can't see it when you set it down. Shepard Norwell Co was started in Boston in 1865, it's name changed to The Shepard Stores during the 1920s and it closed in 1937. Up for sale is this antique rare one of a kind hand painted wood tray. It is large measuring 29" x 19" with with scrolled reticulted handle. The overall pattern is stunning. Complete with inticate edges and design. It is not only hand painted but also has etched with an delicate desin throughout. There is a lovely floral pattern on the center of the tray and matching borders. The gold is a gold foil that is on the front and the back. It is in very good condition with just slight chipping of some of the gold at the edges. This comes from a very wealthy Conn estate and was well taken care of. When you look closely you can see some small worm holes letting me know that this is a very old piece. Thanks for looking!

It is a lovely country piece and has some early notches and old knocks that have become part of the patina but no real damage. The shape is lovely with slanting sides and sweeping, curved edges. I estimate this to be from the Early 1900's and I believe It to American in origin. I've seen only two other's similar to this one. One had a sticker indicating the maker was"Genuine Walnut Hand Finished made by Hawk-Wood New York.This Piece is all Wood except for the Brass Hinge and Screws by which the Lid is attached. The Base is covered with Brown Felt. This Butler is 7-1/8" in outside Diameter and Stands 1-3/4" High, the Handle is 5" Long and the Thumb Lever is 5/8" High. It has a Metal Tray/Dish Insert Inside, possibly originally intended to be able to empty an ashtray. This would display very nicely hanging on a wall. The hollowed Inside of the Base is 5-5/8" in Diameter ... moreand 5/8" Deep, the Item Weight is 1 lb. The Base and Handle appear to be Walnut or similar wood, the Lid looks like thick Walnut Wood Inlaid at Center of the Top, in which an Exquisite Mallard Duck/Geese are Masterfully Inlaid with Walnut and several other Lighter toned Woods. This work was obviously done by Someone Highly Skilled in Marquetry, the Mallard Ducks/Geese looks Very Realistic and Three Dimensional, the Detail is Top Shelf! The Lid is a bit dried out. Some kind of oil/polish would definitely bring this back the wood. There is a small nik on the left side of the lid and is documented in the photos. It has a wire hanger on the back to hang this horizontal but it would not be hard to change it the hang vertical if that is your wish. It is in great shape with just the mention of one of the dividers being gone(first photo. Second section from the bottom on the right) Just put a larger treasure in this spot. There is also section just three to the left that has a partial divider missing. One chip off the bottom right corner but won't hinder the use. This is well made. This would be great for your smalls like thimbles, figurines, sewing items, fishing lures etc.the list goes on. Antique Art Deco Rare Wood Serving Tray Inlaid Bone Mahogany Geometrical Design
This is a unknown maker. But it has an old piece of tape on the back that says"Charpl" The legs have stamps on them that look they were off of another piece of wood. I am guessing this is a handmade one of a kind piece that somebody used old pieces of wood and bone to make. The side risers are hollowed out bone and are filled with other types of wood. The side rails are a rough type wood and one of the has a crack but I think somebody could repair it if not they could just glue and make the piece work. The tray does have an uneven surface due to the age of the piece, I am guessing it to be from the early 1930's. It is all cut piece of different pieces and types of wood& bone cut to size then inlaid on a large flat piece of wood. Then they trimmed it with another type of wood. Some of the trim is loose and will need to fixed. ... moreIt is on the primitive style but very unique and rare. It is truly a work of art. It measures 20 1/4" long by 12 1/4" wide the rails are 1 1/2' off the tray the side bone post are each really close to the same size and the biggest is 2" across the smallest is 1 7/8' across all of them stand 1 3/4" tall, the legs are one solid piece with a c cut out for style they are 11 5/8" long by 1 3/8" tall. The tray stands off a table 3 5/8" to the top of the bone side post. This is a beautiful tray and will look great at a country or art Deco inspired bar or home. RARE Williamsburg Large Dish Top Tray. c. 1940 Bench Made!! Mahogany!
This wonderful Mahogany Tray was made in the Cabinetmaker's Shop in the early 1940's. Rare. It is made of one piece of Mahogany and has a great patina. In fact. It looks to be 18th century when first examined! Dish top, it is 18 inches in diameter, so would look grand holding your Williamsburg decanters or stemware. Great condition. It has it original finish which does need to be oiled or waxed. I will leave that up to the buyer. It does have a very slight check hairline on the back of the tray which does not show on the front.just on the very edge. One really has to examine it to see the hairline on the top edge of the tray. VERY OLD! Primitive Wood Tray Handmade Rope Stitched Surfaced Wood Tray RARE! Im doing my best in explaining the appearance of this VERY OLD tray. First. It measures approximately 16 inches long, and 11 1/2 inches wide. I have researched old primitive trays online, and there was NONE, that was even close to this one in design and or age, so quite possibly a one of a kind! To see the tray in person, it looks as though it could be 200 years old minimum. I said it LOOKS. Certainly DIDN'T say it WAS! Sorry. But due to SOME types of buyers on Ebay. I have to make that specific! Furthermore, starting with the rope, it appears to be extremely matted with some type of mud/dirt and has aged to a almost shinny point. It was carefully stitched into the tray edge, with a smaller similar style mud matted rope. The wood itself is very old, but in EXCELLENT, ... moreperiod condition. There's not anymore i can say because, i dont have any facts, but the buyer of this piece, will be as amazed to the age, style, and appearance, as i am of this piece. Thanks
