19-Piece Vintage Italian Gold Gilt Toleware Tole Florentine Coasters Trays Italy
A lot of 19 vintage Italian toleware coasters or small round trays. The 16 small coasters measure appx 3-1/2” in diameter. The 3 larger coasters(presumably for a wine bottle or water carafe) measure appx 4-1/2” in diameter. There are only 2 large coasters in the pictures but I found one since I took the pictures. They are rimmed in gold. With gold and multi-color geometric and floral designs on the base. The reverse is gold. I don’t know whether this is real gold. There are fourteen unique designs and two pairs of the same design. In the smaller coasters. They are in normal pre-owned vintage condition with a few“age spots” see photo. Some are more shiny; some are a little dusty/grimy from storage but I don’t want to clean them for fear of doing it improperly and damaging the surface paint. I always thought they were carved from wood but after ... morelooking closely. I think they are probably some form of composite or plastic. Marked on reverse with“TRADE MARK– MADE IN ITALY” in a circle surrounding concentric circles. The larger coasters do not have a maker’s mark on reverse. Pre-owned. Selling as is. Italian Florentine Lighter Vintage Toleware Shabby Wood Gold Gilt
Up for bid is an unusual lighter found at a recent southern estate sale. This is an Italian Florentine lighter-something I've not seen before. It measures 5 inches tall and is done in gold and cream. The lighter itself is in a gold tone metal and easily is removed from the wood base. It sits in a metal cup. It still opens but is dry of lighter fluid so not sure it works. But am assuming it does. I have no idea how lighters work, so please ask questions or request additional photos. There are some signs of wear and I would describe this as shabby chic, although still beautiful. Vintage CHERUBS Italian Florentine Wood Tole Gilt BOX Toleware Italy Wooden
This is a vintage Italian Florentine wooden box that has hand painting and gold gilding. The scene features a group of cherubs dancing around a tree and several in the tree as well as women and cherubs playing in the background. It's a beautiful and detailed picture which is printed and glued onto the box. The box has floral detail edging on the top and repetitive motifs around the edges on the rest of the box. The color is a deep green and gold metallic gilding that has been washed with an antique finish. The box has a metal hinge and is varnished wood on the inside. There is a paper card that says"This Italian wooden article is hand-crafted in Florence gold leaf is applied to the prepared wooden surface. Which is then decorated and burnished by hand in keeping with the traditional Florentine mediaeval process. There is also a sticker ... moreon the bottom of the box. The size of the box is approximately 6 1/4" wide x 4 3/8" tall x 1 7/8" deep. It is in outstanding condition with only a few minor chips to the green coloring on the top and sides of the box.
