Vintage Green Toleware Metal Tray Hand Painted Fruit Design SIGNED! Nashco NY
From a cousin’s estate we have a gorgeous hand-painted fruit tray metal toleware. It is signed by someone with the letter A– I cannot read the rest of it. It is oblong octagonal shaped tray with grapes. An apple, a peach, cherries and a pear on the front. It has a latticework design around the edges. Vivid colors. It is in really good shape on the painting. There is some wear to the gold trim on the edge. The back has a silver tag that says: Nashco Products New York Hand painted- Chip and alcohol resistant. There is a string on the back for hanging on the wall if you so choose. There are a couple blemishes on the back. Won’t be seen for the most part. Still a beauty! Approximate measurements: 20" x 15" and 1-1/5" tall. Most of the estate is from the 40’s. 50’s and 60’s. Notes: I try to give an accurate description. But I am ... morenot an expert. Nice vintage Toleware Green Metal handpainted Serving Tray with a slight scalloped border. It is in very good pre owned condition and measures 18 3/4" x 13 1/4" and 3/4" high. The tray is a deep sage green with handpainted orange poppies on each side with green leaves and the initials"B.C. at the bottom. The back of the tray is a little lighter green and sits flat. The tray has no dents and is clean with some minor paint loss but a nice solid impressive tray. It is large& measures approx. 28.5" long x almost 22" wide, it is recessed and beveled with scalloped edges creating a lovely deep tray. This lot is for a gorgeous vintage/antique TOLEWARE METAL TRAY. The tray is SIGNED. I cannot make out the name. The tray measures 23 3/8" L x 16 3/8" W. The depth of the tray is 1 1/8" The interior dimensions of the tray is 20" L x 13" W. The tray weighs 3 1/2 pounds before packaging. The edge of the tray has beautiful cut out work. There are handles on each end for easy carrying. The back has wear marks from years of use. Paint is chipped away. I DID NOT clean the front before taking photographs. You will see some marks in the bottom right. They are just surface dirt marks. There are splattered"GOLD" paint on the upper left corner- probably there from the original painting. Vintage Tin Handpainted Toleware Black Tray. Signed Fred Austin who painted trays for Nashco Product New York. This tray has an open work rim with a delicate pattern of tiny holes called lacy or lacework in gold. The trays were usually blank and the decorating was known as flowering. Individuals or companys who hired painters produced works of art known as toleware which means painting on metal. Very large trays such as this were called butlers. Tray measures 18" in diameter& 1 1/3" high. Condition is excellent for its age- some paint loss and scratches on the rear and a few rough spots on the front. It has a dark green ground, gold rim, and painted fruit center. Measurements are 16.5" wide and 10" tall. Still has its sticker label on the back. There are some surface scrapes. Antique Toleware Tray Tole Hand Painted Signed Beautiful Floral Basket Gold Gilt
We have for auction this very beautifully hand painted antique toleware tray. It measures 16"w x 14.5"l x 1"h and is made of metal. It is artist signed C.F. Feurer. I have lightly cleaned it but it could be done again if desired. I didn't want to disturb the artwork by removing any paint. It has an art Nouveau look to it. There is gold gilding around the edge with cascading swags and a pretty floral arrangement in the center basket with blue. Lavender, pink and white flowers. It is signed in the green below the basket. This tole tray would be a great addition for any home or collector.

This is a hand painted. Artist signed, metal tray. I recently received about 6 pieces of Toleware by a folk artist in my town named Ann. She was a very accomplished artist and died at the age of 90. She was prolific and painted on many household things. These trays are so beautiful. This one is a Shabby Chic dream. It is french blue with gold edges. There are three pink hand painted tulips. The middle flower has a small area where the paint has peeled and you can see the metal tray beneath. See the photo. This is a Great piece! It measures roughly 14 inches by 10 inches. These trays are probably about 40-50 years old. Please see my other auctions for more of these trays. Each is one of a kind. This one still has the tag on the back. Which was painted over instead of being removed. I think the artist had a since of humor.
