This is a large Tole tray that measures 24" by 18" and is in very good condition. The front side features a flower motif on a green background. The back is solid green and has a label for Art Craft products. This tray is in very good condition. There is some paint missing around the edges And some missing where the sides meet the pan. There is also some extra( paint that has been spattered or spilled or Painted on it. I can't tell if it was an accident or an on purpose because of the way the trail of paint misses the flowers. It is also is about 1 1/8” deep. The handles left and right are circular rolled under. Please refer to the scan of the underside for reference. The stenciled design in cream. Green and red paint on both left and right sides is beautiful and carries over along the top and bottom sides. There appears to be an under wash of a copper color that shows through the paint in various areas and quite a lot on the reverse side. The piece of older tape on the reverse mentions the fact that at one time the piece had four balled feet, one at each corner. These however are no longer present. The character of the tray does not suffer with them missing. ... moreThe seams of the tin are tight with the exception of one ¾”slight split in the tin seam running from the base of the tray diagonally to the top corner. Nothing really serious. There are a couple of older light scratches in the base area. A great addition to any Toleware, Tole, Tin Painted Tin, Tableware, Primitive or Americana collection. This tray has an open work rim with a delicate pattern of tiny holes called lacy or lacework in gold. The trays were usually blank and the decorating was known as flowering. Individuals or companys who hired painters produced works of art known as toleware which means painting on metal. Very large trays such as this were called butlers. Tray measures 18" in diameter& 1 1/3" high. Condition is excellent for its age- some paint loss and scratches on the rear and a few rough spots on the front. Elegant Decorative Piece! I believe this Chinoiserie tray is from the early 1900's. Black. Mid-weight tin, with hand-painted picture depicting Asian women with umbrellas, a duck, a pond, a tree, an Oriental house, a bridge and a large mountain in the background. Simple in it's design, yet very pretty. The picture itself is in great condition and thw whole upperside is in good condition with some rusting on the edges. This is an original toleware round tin tray painted by Peter Ompir. The tray depicts a whimsical boy walking down a path. He is playing the accordion. He is dressed in a large hat. Polka dot shirt and red pants. Tray has various colors of green, gold, black and red. Interior edge of tray has gold and red banding. Exterior edge has gold banding. Some spots of rusting. Also various spots where paint has worn off. Signature is found on bottom of tin. Measures approximately 12" across x 2" deep. Overall fair condition.

Offered here without reserve is this 19th C tin tole ware tray often referred to as an apple of fruit tray. She measures 12 7/8" x 7 5/8" x 3 1/2" high at the ends. The black background is considerably worn. But the colored decoration is in quite good condition.
