Vintage Metal Hand Painted Floral on Black Tole Tray Toleware Shabby Cottage
Vintage metal tole tray. Hand painted toleware. Black tray with a floral pattern and goldtone trim. Measures approximately 17" by 13 1/2" It is in well preserved condition with still bright popping colors. There is a small dent in the middle and a spot where the paint chipped away on the dent(top part of large pink flower in the middle) signs of wear from age and use, but still a beautiful tray! No rust. Back side of tray has scratches. Pretty tray with keyhole handles. All of my items come from a very non smoking home. VINTAGE RENZO CARLI TOLE GOLD GILT FLORENTINE FLORAL PAINTED SERVING TRAY UNUSED
An original vintage Renzo Carli hand made serving tray. Many of these trays are produced in Italy but non compare with these from the Renzo Carli Florence workshop. This tray measures 8" across. The well defined 1" with lip border is in orange with gold gilt and very attractive design. This border gives added dimension to the black background center with a beautiful hand painted floral bouquet. This tray has never been used to serve with but only displayed on a wall as decoration. Still retains the original foil sticker of the Company. I have had many of these beautiful Italian made trays and other items in the past but Renzo Carli is by far the best. Most all of my listings are antique. Vintage or used items. For that reason they may have a mark or other imperfection. XL Vintage Reticulated Hand Painted Floral & Black tole tray- PRICE REDUCED!
There is no date on this tray however I would guess it would be somewhere from the mid 1940's to the 1960's. The tray is fairly heavy(almost 4 pounds) for its size(which is 24"x17.5"x1.25" and it was done by an expert painter. You can see the brushstrokes and the paint is applied liberally.There is a little wear as you would expect in a piece of this age. And I've tried to show it in the photos. The worst thing, in my opinion, are small pops of paint in the area of the floral design on the front. One photo shows this. The spots are small and not glaring, but they are there and you can see them clearly in the photo I think. The black has wear and some places where there is heavy wear,especially on the back and the reticulated area. I think this tray was used as a table for most of its life before it came to me(where ... moreit hung on the wall and made quite a statement! and I say that because you can clearly see wear on the back where there were 4 legs in contact with the tray. I have shown the worst one in a close up but as you can see there is no rust in this area. As to rust, there are a few areas in corners, or seams, or the reticulated area where the finish is a bit"rough" and which may be rust either starting, or perhaps just the finish getting loose, but there is no flaking or actively loose areas. I am trying to describe this as well as I can because it's hard to really get great photos of a black tray without flash bounce so, while none of these areas bothered me in the least, I want you to know that they are there. Overall it is a lovely old tray and I think with a coat of wax, the more worn areas would become even less obvious. But, I want to leave that up to the new owner. This tray looks fabulous on the wall, but it is heavy enough to be used as a table, too, as it was in the past. I took lots of photos so you can see the whole tray and decide for yourself. I have had this for years and years. purchased at an estate sale) and I am now downsizing. This gorgeous tray is in structurally excellent condition(also note that the corners are dove-tailed, or tongue and groove construction ~ very nice) The painted floral design is excellent. In good color, and the paint is beautifully textured ~ slightly raised here and there. All along the edges of the tray. The black paint is scuffed, giving it a naturally charming vintage distressed look. This would be perfect with your shabby chic. Cottage, or Victorian decor. There is one long chip out of the edge of the wood ~ see photos for detail, but this never bothered me at all when I had it displayed in my home. She lived in the early 1900s and was a farm type artist and I have some items coming up in future sales of just some great early items she has done to add to your decor. This tray is all hand painted and it's 1 in. tall and 15 in. wide. The only defect is some minor paint scuffs on the back with the rest being perfect. Russian Metal Hand Painted Floral Toleware Scalloped Plate Platter Tole Tray Sig
This auction is for a Russian metal hand painted platter or plate. The plate measures approximately 12 ½” x 8 ¾” and has a scalloped border. This beautiful plate has a lack background with a floral picture in the middle and scroll designs around the sides. Near the picture is written Koctehko. It is in very good condition. But has some light scratches that can be seen when tilted under the light, and some slight wear mainly on the back. On the back there is a mark that looks like a tulip. I don’t know it’s age.
