Vintage Italian Renaissance Italy Florentine Gold Gilt Gesso Wooden Wood Box
Here's a very old Florentine wood with a gesso design. Gold paint/gilt trinket box with a romantic picture on top. It's small, measuring 4" square and is a little over 1 1/2" tall. It has 2 crude metal hinges on the back. The gold paint isn't perfect, and is scratched up here and there due to age, especially on the corners, but it is still nice and the gold paint that is there shines very brightly and it displays very well. I guess you'd say it has a very nice, overall patina. You can see how old it is by the inside of the box. The wood is sturdy. These boxes that have the gesso are the hardest ones to find if you are into collecting Florentine stuff! Shipping via USPS will be $3.00. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

This is a vintage. Gold gilt florentine magazine holder. Recently purchased at an estate sale, I am unsure of it's age. It is unmarked. In good, used and vintage condition, there are a few issues worth mentioning. Most importantly, there is a small dent and crack in the wood on one of the bottom edges. This can be seen in the second picture. In addition, it looks like there is another hairline crack on one of the feet. I can't tell if it is a manufacturing thing of a flaw. Finally, the entire piece has some paint loss and some small chips. The rack measures about 14 1/2" across, 17" tall and 7" deep. Still very pretty, it will make a useful addition to any room. This auction features a pair of small Italian CHERUB/CUPID carved wood/gesso wall plaques and a matching towel holder. There is some loss of gilt on all pieces. But primarily on the Cherub towel holder which looks like he is blushing as there is more reddish paint on the face. It maybe was made that way as the reddish paint looks to be on top of the gold/gilt. All are in great vintage condition. They are most likely from the 1960s. The cherub towel holder is 5" long(the cherub part is 3 1/4 x 3 1/4" Each of the small wall plaques is about 3 1/4" x 3 1/2" Both have there original triangular hooks on the back. 19-Piece Vintage Italian Gold Gilt Toleware Tole Florentine Coasters Trays Italy
A lot of 19 vintage Italian toleware coasters or small round trays. The 16 small coasters measure appx 3-1/2” in diameter. The 3 larger coasters(presumably for a wine bottle or water carafe) measure appx 4-1/2” in diameter. There are only 2 large coasters in the pictures but I found one since I took the pictures. They are rimmed in gold. With gold and multi-color geometric and floral designs on the base. The reverse is gold. I don’t know whether this is real gold. There are fourteen unique designs and two pairs of the same design. In the smaller coasters. They are in normal pre-owned vintage condition with a few“age spots” see photo. Some are more shiny; some are a little dusty/grimy from storage but I don’t want to clean them for fear of doing it improperly and damaging the surface paint. I always thought they were carved from wood but after ... morelooking closely. I think they are probably some form of composite or plastic. Gorgeous gold gilt wood plaque with and an ornate design around the edges and creating a halo around the Mother& child. Original hanger on the back. A red and gold foil label: MADE IN ITALY is on the back. The picture has some flaws. It looks like perhaps some blue paper/material was left on top and some pieces of it stuck to the picture.
