You are looking at an Italian tole tray table dating from the 1930' or 40's. It shows a double cornucopia with flowers and bows. So elegant! It is in very good used condition. A dusky red. Color is richer than it shows in the photos. An interesting note, this table was acquired from a New York City interior designer who used it in the movie Unfaithful. With Richard Gere and Diane Lane. I paid $875.00, which was already a discounted price because I am a friend. Dimensions: Tray is 28 and 3/4" by 21" Height of table is 23" Condition: In very good condition with the exception of the top of the tray supports. Which have some wearing. Could be easily restored but it goes with the general patina of the piece. No warping or visible rust. The design is done in gold and black and is finely detailed. The edges of the trays have normal wear and tear with slight paint removable one the edges. The other tray has some paint removal directly under one of the handles also about the size of a dime. The back of the trays are ... moresolid black with scuff marks where they come in contact with the four points of the table base. Each tray is hand signed on the back with"Made in Italy T.E 36-52" It may be"T.C" but it's hard to tell because of the script. The table base is also in great shape with normal wear and tear and slight paint removal on some of the edges. The table folds up for storage. 18 1/2" tall 22" across table top Wonderful 19th c painted Italian tole side table in a gorgeous blue green finish with gilt designs. Table is in good overall condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. Table had some paint loss and denting. No odor. From a smoke free environment.
