Up for auction is a small round vintage hand painted Florentine tole tray. The tray has a design of pale aqua and gold gilt. It also has small red dots on the design. It has a scalloped edge. There are no markings on the back of the tray. But I believe it was made in Italy. This vintage pre-owned tray has wear from age and use. The design in the center of the tray has a small amount of wear. But there are a lot of chips on the front and back scalloped edges and on the back of the tray. The carvings and etchings are super special on this tray. You can see that some of the work is clearly done by hand. Just look at the etching on the interior.so pretty. This one has a super thickness which indicates that it is an oldie(mid 50's? It is made of a light balsa wood otherwise referred to as"paper mache" It also has an old fashioned hanger attached. Vintage Italian Florentine Tray Red Gold Gilt Red Scalloped Wood serving wall Wonderful MID CENTURY Tole SERVING TRAY. Tray measures 18 1/2" diameter and 13" top to bottom This carved wood TRAY features incised detailing under a painted finish. It has prominant tab handles and a scalloped edge raised rim. The ornate detail in the design is exquisite. There are no visible markings. But the Italian maker is likely covered by an anti-skid piece of felt has been added to the bottom. Shows normal age wear, with age scuffs, no cracks or chips in wood. Sold as shown. The overall finish exhibits a"patina" commensurate with age. Great smaller size for that area that needs just a"little" something to add some pzazzz. Payment is due within 7 days.
