This is a great old tray. I have not tried to clean it as I am not sure the best way. The main color of the tray looks like a dark green color. The paints looks great. From the Pennsylvania Dutch. These are 4 hand painted metal Toleware trays. They could be from Amish or Mennonite families. The trays measure 13-3/4"+ x 10-1/2" with rolled. Rounded corners. The original color of the metal was blue. The background is black on all 4 trays with a general theme of red, white and green throughout the trays. The rims were once painted red with white and green dots. The first image is of a buck& doe. The 2nd is a heart. The third is the tree of life with gold apples. The last is a dove life bird. This silent butler is oval in shape. It measures 7.25" long. 4.75" wide and 2.50" deep. I did not imclude the handle in the measurements. Toleware was popular in US kitchens in the 18th and 19th centuries. The trade began in Europe in the first half of the 18th century, a little later in the United States, and had all but ceased by the end of the 19th century. Vintage Handpainted Metal Tray Blues and White
This is a lovely Tole painted tray. I love the muted background and the bright blues and whites of the flowers. It is not pristine and does show some wear. Please check photos closely. There is one area around the flowers that the paint has worn off. Another area along the edge also has paint missing. It still has the original sticker on the back but it is worn and hard to read. Hand painted and New York are readable on the sticker but I cannot tell the manufacturer. The tray has scallop type edges. It measures 17 by 14 inches at the longest and widest points. It is not perfect but is nice enough to allow the flaws to give it character.

Vintage Tole Tray Toleware Metal Black Gold Handpainted Antique Flowers and Vine
Medium Black and Gold Antique Handpainted Toleware Tray This sale is for an antique toleware tray that measures 14 3/4" long x 11" wide and apx 1/4" deep. The tray has been handpainted and has flowers that look like daisies and vine in an oval shape in the middle of the tray in gold as wel as a smaller detail of flowers on the edge on the long sides. The top of the tray is in good condition and does not show any rust with just a small amount of wear on the very edge of the tray in a few spots. The bottom. As I have tried to show with the photographs, a few small areas where the paint is rubbed off as well as a bit of bubble in the paint where rust may be starting to arise. We have for auction a vintage round metal serving dish with handle in the center I fell heir to piece. Believe it to be painted ToleWare approx. 11.5in. diameter the metal server dish/tray is black with handed painted( raised multicolored) flowers in the center is a 5.5in. handle(the round ring at top does fold down) with raised bottom, sits up approx. 1.5in. the piece is in pretty good vintage/ antique condition I see no dents(but not perfect) there is some chrome plating loss to handle Thanks for checking us out.
