This is a beautiful wastebasket with the fleur de lis trademark symbol on the bottom. Says Made in Italy- Florence. 10.5" tall. 9.75" diameter at the top. 6.5" diameter at the bottom. Has a great patina to it. The color is a turquoise green; it's more on the green side than the blue side. I am unable to date it.I'm thinking it's from the 50s or 60s? but I am not sure. Definitely true vintage, though. Photo 5 shows a long crack and two shorter cracks. While the cracks are visible. The wastebasket is still completely intact and fully functional. There is a wonderful patina to this wastebasket I don't know if this is considered tole. But when I researched toleware, it says it is painted on metal. I actually cannot tell exactly what the material this is made out of. To me it almost feels like some kind of plastic, ... morebut I've been told by a contractor who looked at it that it is some kind of metal, but I am not absolutely sure. Description This listing is for a vintage Italian Florentine salt shaker and pepper mill/grinder set. They are made of balsam wood and beautifully decorated with hand painted teal blue and gold gilt. There are orange/red and black accents. I believe the tops are made of brass. The pepper mill is marked Acciaio Garantito underneath. DIMENSIONS The salt shaker with its top stands 3 inches tall and is approximately 2 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point. This generously-sized piece measures about 17-3/4" in diameter. For your consideration we are offering this lovely pair of vintage toleware wood plate and box. The plate has a finely detailed tole design is rich burgundy with gold and white. The wood plate or tray has a detailed carved edge. The plate has a sticker on the bottom. The sticker is old and difficult to read. However; made in Italy can be read and 20/0 on the top of the sticker. There are not any other marks on the plate that I can see. The box appears to have a rectangle shape area on the bottom that may have been where a stick once was located. There are not any marks on the box that I could see. I am guessing based on other examples similar to this box, that the box is probably also from Italy. I cannot say positively. The box has a traditional toleware design and is decorated in gold and white. I do not know the age of these two beauties. ... moreThey appear to have some age to them. They have the wear expected on these pieces from age and use. I will address the more apparent areas. The round plate or small tray has a section of wood which is raised on the face of the plate. There is some loss of gold in an area on this section. There are areas where the burgundy paint along the edge is pebbled. I do not know what this is from. I do not know if this can be removed, or if it is where something was spilled onto the plate. The plate and box have surface scratches from use and age. The box has wear on the bottom of the box at the corners and edges. Please see the photos to see the box and plate in more detail. The box is covered on the interior with green felt. The plate measures approximately 7 7/8” wide and the plate measures approximately 7/8” high from the table top. The box measures approximately 6” long with the lid closed and it measures approximately 4” wide. The box with the lid closed measures approximately 2 1/8” tall. Vintage Italian Gilt Florence Toleware Tray Holder and Glass Ashtray
Vintage Italian Gilt Florence Ashtray with a heavy glass liner. The colors are still very brilliant on the wooden base and it retains its original sticker. The glass Ashtray is also in excellent condition. Neither piece has cracks or chips but the glass has changed color slightly due to age. Both pieces together measure approximately 7 1/8" wide and 2"tall. It would be easy to separate the two and use the base as an elegant tray.
