Vintage Italy Florentine Gold Gilt Gesso Ornate Wooden Wood Trinket Box
Here's a very old Florentine wood with a gesso design. Gold paint/gilt trinket box with a romantic picture on top. It's small, measuring 4" square and is a little over 1 1/2" tall. It has 2 crude metal hinges on the back. The gold paint isn't perfect, and is scratched up here and there due to age, especially on the corners, but it is still nice and the gold paint that is there shines very brightly and it displays very well. I guess you'd say it has a very nice, overall patina. You can see how old it is by the inside of the box. The wood is sturdy. These boxes that have the gesso are the hardest ones to find if you are into collecting Florentine stuff! Shipping via USPS will be $3.00. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

Vintage Italian Florentine Wooden Gold Gilt Table Top Easel 13"
This Florentine style easel is made of wood and painted gold with white accents. It stands about 13" high when open. There's a 1" deep space for a picture to sit on. It's 5-1/4 wide and the space between the medallion at the top and the ledge for the picture is 8-1/2" The back leg has a little bit of residue from an old tag. This is a vintage Italian Florentine wooden box that has hand painting and gold gilding. The scene features a group of cherubs dancing around a tree and several in the tree as well as women and cherubs playing in the background. It's a beautiful and detailed picture which is printed and glued onto the box. The box has floral detail edging on the top and repetitive motifs around the edges on the rest of the box. The color is a deep green and gold metallic gilding that has been washed with an antique finish. The box has a metal hinge and is varnished wood on the inside. There is a paper card that says"This Italian wooden article is hand-crafted in Florence gold leaf is applied to the prepared wooden surface. Which is then decorated and burnished by hand in keeping with the traditional Florentine mediaeval process. There is also a sticker ... moreon the bottom of the box. Rim is scalloped and raised. Condition is very nice some nicks in frame and a couple cracks to frame, which do not impact it's beauty. This is a beautiful large original Antique Florentine Italian Carved Distressed Picture Frame. Just a wonderful piece. Distressed creme white gold fragments of paint over beautiful old wood grain with a lovely rich patina, the inner edge is dark. This is the real deal, beautifully old and aged, not repainted to look old. Condition is very nice with chipping typical on older Italian frames. The wear of paint and patina is evenly dispersed. There are some surface cracks and chipping throughout. One corner shows a spot where the wood has chipped. All in all a lovely aged antique frame perfect for a mirror or picture. Florentine Toleware 14 & 1/2" Octagonal Wooden Tray Gold & Green Italy
This is an unusal octagonal shaped wooden tray that was hand made in Italy. The original label is still on the back. It measures 14 and 1/2 inches in length. The colors are primarily green and gold with an inside border of a beige-ish color. The design looks like pop art. Or is it op art? The little green circles with black dots inside of them kind of jump out at your eyes. The photos do not do the design justice. The tray is in very good used condition and does have some minor paint loss which is not unusual for it's age but it doesn't detract from the uniqueness of the artwork. Set of 2 Italian Style Florentine Gilt Gold Tolewear Painted Wooden Trays Description. Set of 2 Italian Style Trays with Gold/Gilt Painting Let me be honest by saying that I do not know much about these trays or this style. To my eye. They look like the Italian Toleware gold gilt painted trays that I have seen, but I am by know means knowledgeable in this area. They are not marked"made in Italy" on the back, but the backs are also worn and perhaps the markings have worn off. I do not know how old they are. Both trays are lightweight and wooden. The round tray is done in cream and gold and has carved designs on the front. Some areas have started to oxidize and turn green for an interesting effect. The back of the tray has been carved with criss-crossing squiggle lines. The oblong tray is done in gold and green with a cream and gold ... moredesign in the center. This tray has etched designs around the design and also on the corners. There is also an etched line pattern on the back. These are sold"as is" and are certainly interesting pieces that would look lovely used in Shabby Chic decorating. The green oblong tray is 14" x 9" and the gold round tray is 11.5" in diameter.
