Antique Black and Gold Toleware Spice Box and 6 Tins w/ Brass Handle NEAT!
You are viewing an antique Toleware Spice Box tin with 6 canisters. It is from the early to mid 19th century. It measures approximately 9.5 inches long. 6.25 inches deep, and 3.25 inches tall. The canisters measure approximately 3 inches tall each. The outside of the tin has gold colored design done over a black finish, while the inside is copper in color. The hasp and hinges all work properly. The canisters had the name of the spice stenciled on the tops of them. The Nutmeg is still visible as well as most of the Mace. The remainder of the spices were Ginger, Cloves, Allspice, and Cinnamon. The rings for two of the lids are missing(as pictured) and there is some paint loss. Overall this great piece is in very good condition for its age and will make a fantastic addition to your collection. A magnet does stick to the surface. There is some paint wear. Light scratches in paint. There are 2 areas shown in photos of note: one is an area of repair near bottom of tray below goddess where some kind of metal filler or finish has been applied, see image 7. Vintage Tole Toleware Torchiere Lamps Black Gold Floral Center Bowls Open Shades. These are 16" tall with 8" wide shade opening at top. The bases are 4.5" diameter. The center bowl inserts are 6.5" wide by 3" deep. These have hand painted simple gold flowers under the rim area and gold accents on rims. The bowls show some wear and probably black paint touch up. One base is bent and the metal has cuts in it or cracks. Both lamps work with the pull chains.a little hart to tug on. Neat set of vintage tole lamps! Vintage Tole Serving Tray with scalloped edges. Lovely shape measures approx. 21 1/4 x 17 inches. Made of metal painted black with hand painted gold colored flowers Gold paint around edge of tray and hand painted on the 1 3/4 in raised border of the tray. This vintage tray does have a few scratches and areas where the paint has been worn or chipped around the edge as one would expect to see on a tray with age. I have attempted to show detail of the tray condition in photos. However. It appears in great overall shape. Four pads have been placed on the back of the tray so it would not scratch table surface. Antique Primitive Tin Toleware Box: Hand Painted, Black, Gold, Early 1900s
This little tin box is about recipe box size at 5-3/4" X 3-1/2" X 3-1/2" deep. It was acquired at an estate sale where all of the items being sold were from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is hand painted and I believe the tole design is actually stenciled on with gold paint with red shading. The top. As shown in the photo, is a cluster of three cherries; the front and back panels have a swag with a little red flower in the middle; and the end panels have a daisy-like flower. The black paint job is not first rate: there are a few areas where the original drips and brush strokes can be seen and it has now become crazed. This is part of what makes this piece so very charming. The stenciling is mostly intact except for an area of paint loss on the largest cherry. Overall I would consider the box to be in nice condition given ... moreits probable 100+ year age. There are a number of small dents and dings. Nothing of real significance. The lid fits on and off as it should with a small amount of effort. There are a few small areas of paint loss, primarily around the edge where the lid has rubbed; there is one small"blob" of white paint right beneath where the top of the lid ends; and there is some surface rust on the interior including one pin-hole size area where light shows through. This is an estate piece being sold as is. As found. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to odors: smoking, fragrance, cooking, mustiness, mothballs, other storage odors or pets. Antique Black and Gold Trimmed Metal Toleware Document Box
I can recall this box in my family's posession in the 1940's. It has the name"Miss Anna B. Fairman" printed on the front. But that is not a family name that I know about. It is in the shape of a cash box at 11" wide by 7 3/4" deep by 4 3/4" high. The hinges are broken as though, lacking a key, it was opened by breaking the hinge. My recollection was that it was referred to as a"death box" as though important papers were kept in it and to be opened after death. The box is probably native to Santa Clara Valley in California, but could have been brought from Illinois in 1920 by my grandfather to California. It has been cluttering up my storage for 30 years and needs a new resting place.

There is also a crack in the larger piece that is about 3/4 inch from bottom and 4 1/2 inches long. Crack does not go all the way across I have never seen a crumber like this one

This is a Beautiful Vintage Black and Gold Tole Lam p colonial/federal design( about 40 years old or more which makes it used or pre-owned) It is black with hand painted stenciled in Gold designs. It has some scuff marks here and there but nothing that actually deters it from looking wonderful. The electric cord is secure and the switch works fine. Considering it's age it's seems to have held up very well. It is 28 inches tall to the top of the tole lamp shade and 30 inches to tip of lamp, 6 inches wide at base( as of which does still have the felt covering very much intact) 40 inches around the widest part of the shade, shade itself is 6 inches tall/long and 12 3/4 inches wide. The base is very heavy and sturdy. Please take into consideration that the flash reflects or picks up every little mark but to the naked eye does not appear ... moreas such. And the marks are not nearly as noticeable. I was asked what the base was made of and as far as I can tell it is metal. The bottom of the base where light switch is, is very heavy and can see in new pic the felt is in place and I do not want to pull it back to see exactly what makes that part so solid and heavy.Also was asked what wattage bulb can be used? Any standard 60/75/100 wattage light bulb should work well.

Measuring approximately 16" x 20" The tray is quite heavy and the black background paint, as well as some of the gold gilt leaves(which almost look like"gold leaf" have a bit of"alligatoring" to them due to the old age of the tray. It is absolutely amazing to me how many beautiful things they had that were never used. Possibly they were impulse purchases ... moreor more likely, gifts that were never or rarely used. This Lovely Vintage Black Tole Lamp- punctuated with Golden feature accents- is another beautiful Estate find in great condition. It stands about 20” Tall– measured to the top of its Tole shade as pictured. The Black/Gold Shade has a Bottom Surface Diameter of about 10 ½” and it is about 6” High. The Base Diameter of the Lamp is about 5” As you can see from the pictures. It is in fine working condition. The wiring seems to be good. The Tole Shade sits upon a White Milk Glass Globe. There are two little“screws” that you can loosen to remove it for cleaning or shipping. The White Milk Glass Globe is also in fine condition as is the cream colored interior of the tole shade. I think it is probably a 3-Way Lamp although I only have a regular bulb in it so I cannot say for sure since I don’t have a 3-Way Bulb to try it with. However, when I turn it on, nothing happens on the first turn– the light goes on with the 2 nd turn– there is also a 3 rd turn but nothing happens with the regular bulb that is currently in it. It will NOT be shipped with the bulb. The bulb pictured is only for an example to show that it works

Vintage Mid Century Black And Gold Toleware Metal Wall Lamp
Up for auction is a nice Vintage Black and Gold Metal Toleware Wall Lamp. The shade has scalloped edging around the bottom of it and gold leaf around the center. There is a light scuff on the shade and a couple of places around the edge that the black paint has been rubbed off. It may have had a gold reticulated piece that went around the top edge but is missing. I have seen others listed that do not have that piece so that is why I am not sure it originally had it or not. The shade measures 7 7/8" across and is 4 1/4" high. It has the key style on and off switch. The sconce part that mounts to the wall has gold leaf pattern on the wall plate. It looks like the gold final has been replace. All the paint to this piece is original. The lamp has been tested and it does work. The chimney is included.

This is a fabulous antique tray. It is HUGE measuring 28 x 23 inches. A truly rare find. It is black with gold floral pattern around the edges. There is writing on the back strip of paper that was written with an old fountain pen but I can't read it- looks like numbers. Don't miss this rare piece.
