Beautiful Antique Hand-Carved This is an absoultly beautiful hand-carved primative wooden folk are nude. This is figure is one solid piece. Her left arm and hand has been carved away from the rib cage and hips with little space inbetween. Really amazing to see. There is a wonderful sheen patina on the legs. Breast, and hair of the doll. This figurine measures almost 7 1/2" tall. The amount of detail is quite specktacular! One are is folded behind her back. You can see definition of fingers and facial features. The wood is a soft wood. But you can not scratch you fingernail in it. The only downfall of this figurine. Is she is missing one foot. A small fraction of the front right foot is missing. The only undefined part of the body is the feet. The left foot almost looks like it is wearing a shoe with a point at the top. I am completely ... morein awe of this figure. While she is primitive. Wonderful old wood carving of a Russian Squirrel. It looks like it could be a candle holder. It measures 5 1/4 inches tall and the base measures 4 1/2 inches x 3 5/8. It's signed and dated on the bottom by the artist. Robert Patscheider. It was given as a gift to Dick Kohrt in 1934. Kewaunee, Wisconsin. The carving consists of several pieces of wood. One of the squirrel's ears is broken off. It's a lightweight wood.

Estate found.wonderful pair of early Black Forest carved bookends featuring an old man and woman. I love the expressions on their faces which are finely detailed. In very good condition with a lovely patina. There is a small toothpick sized hole at the corner of the mans mouth as if something may have been held there at one time? This is very hard to see as both sides of the mouth match perfectly and the small round hole blends in with the carved wrinkles around the mouth. Each measures approx. 8 1/4" tall x 4" x 4.5" A very charming example of old European folk art.

ANTIQUE VINTAGE HAND CARVED WOOD HORSE HEAD BUST EQUESTRIAN BARN FOLK ART
A wonderful large hand carved wooden horse head bust. Carved from one piece of wood and attached to the base. Finish is the original paint and is a mustard color with some orange here and there and black eyes. On the left side of the head area you will see a very slight separation which is just part of the aging process. It may have even been there when it was carved. Just wanted to point this out so you know. This piece is in excellent antique condition and is a rarity. It would be a wonderful focal point in any room. A unique handmade solid wooden carved choir angel. The figure is 8.5" tall. 4"wide, and 4" deep. It has a great look. There is another similar piece on Ebay so this could be part of a angel choir collectible set. Some paint chipped off that can be easily repaired with acrylic paint and a finishing product. And her base is 5" by 3-1/2" It looks to me that Mary is carved out of one piece of wood(except for applied hands) and then attached to a layered wooden plinth, alsoe carved out of a single piece of wood. Mary's hands are most interesting, as one features all five fingers and the other is a smaller hand in a"mitten" shape. Don't know the significance of this.it seems to be the same wood and same paint. Offered is a Set of Two Vintage Hand Carved Wooden Folk Art Musicians. Each player measures approx. 16” tall. And the base is approx. 4 5/8” in diameter. Both are in good vintage condition with no cracks or broken components. The left ear on each player is very small. Especially the trumpet player. It appeared at first that the ears were broken off, but close examination shows that they are stained with the same finish as the rest of the bodies. The reason for the small ears is unknown. Maybe it’s a hidden message or trademark signature by the artist? The top clear coat glaze is very shiny in some areas and nearly matte in others. There are craftsman’s tool marks visible on each figure. Consistent with that of true hand crafted and hand finished wares. There is some fading to the gold accents on the cello. Up for bids is this Antique American Folk Art Carved& Painted Birds In Nest Wood Carving. This piece was most likely carved in Pennsylvania in the mid 20thC but could be a little earlier. The carving depicts three baby birds and their mother that are sitting on the edge of their nest. The baby birds eyes look to be nails and the mother bird's eyes look like tacks. They are attached to the nest with thick wire legs. The birds are wood and nest are wood but the nest has composition covering it to give it a more realistic look. All of the paint on this piece is original. There are no breaks or repairs to this piece but I do believe that 2 baby birds were either never added or they are missing. antique folk art, American flag with 12 stars. Wood fence posts OLD?
Folk art made from old fence posts. Made into a American flag with 13 stars. 12 stars. I am not sure what state or meaning that gives the flag. I don't know the age of it. But I got it from a storage locker about a year ago with a lot of other antiques from between 1800 and 1940, so I would guess somewhere in that range. It has been in my office for a year now. And it needs to go to a collector or a new home that wants to display it. I don't know who made it. It shows signs of age and use. As must be expected. I guess it is made somewhere between 1850 and 1940. But I am not sure, can be older. I don't know if it has been repaired at some point. But it might have. The size is 32.5 X 18 inches. A wonderful collection of Primitive Folk Art paintings on antique wooden bannisters of people. The bannisters were cut in half and the artists painted a person to create a wall hanging. I was told that these were done locally years ago. But two have markings or signatures on the reverse"P. Poole/ St. Thomas 1969" The two signed ones appear to be by the same artist and are a little better exectued than the other 4 which are not signed. The signed ones are the first two. The last two appear to be from the same bannister rail. Each measures about 22" to 24" and have a great surface patina. 4 of the 6 have small hooks for hanging. The hook is missing on two of them. They have a wonderful folk art imagery and my guess is that they were all created about the same time in the 1960's. I believe it was one time used as an ashtray holder(does not smell like smoke at all) or to hold another decorative object. Carved in a centered out 2 branch motif connecting top and bottom. Antique Handmade Folk Art Woodpecker Bird Sculpture Or Door Knocker
What a neat piece of folk art! Someone carved wood into the shape of a woodpecker and attached it to a piece of wood so that the woodpecker can be moved back and forth to knock with its beek on the piece of wood. I wish I could include the sound it makes! The folk art painting on the piece is really"folk art" From the orange beek and the black eye to the varied colors of body to the black tail. If the whitewashed piece of wood with the woodpecker were attached to a door, it would be a door knocker! Or the piece could just be used as a display of folk art. The woodpecker is just over 7 1/2 inches long and just under 2 inches wide at the widest part. It is just under 1/2 inch wide. Up for auction is this beautiful piece of carved folk art. It depicts two dancers and is hand carved with amazing detail down to the traditional costumes. Antique Italian 1800's Wood Arab/ Moor Puppet Head Black Folk Art Marionette
Amazing piece of vintage folk art. A hand carved wooden puppet head from Italy. Made in the mid 1800's.Represents a Moor, with red cotton head gear. Wonderful condition, paint is great with a great aged patina. No cracks. Back of head has a groove where there was evidently some kind of rod or pole that went through it.
