Pantalcraft Mid Century Taverneau Wood Tray #3700 Set of 2
This auction is for a pair of mid century taverneau wood trays. The were handmade in Haiti by the Pantalcraft Co. There are two stickers on the back of one and a single sticker on the other one. They are marked#3700. The trays measure approximately 14" long by 8.75" wide. They have a height of approximately 1 1/8" These are both in good condition with signs of use and wear on both. One has a small crack that can be seen in the last photo. They are both in need of a good cleaning. Returns are accepted only if item is not as described within 14 days of delivery confirmation. We document all possible damages and issues with items in our listings to avoid returns. Item must be returned in same condition as shown in photos and documented in listing. Up for sale is a beautiful mid-century 11.5" round tray which was purchased in Hawaii. This tray has a scalloped edge detail and is in very good condition with no cracks. chip or water stains. There are some minor surface scratches from age. But nothing deep. On the bottom and side of the tray, on the back, are some lighter tones in the wood. But I was able to see that this man and his company is a cabinet maker out of Southampton, New York and he started it sometime in the late 1970s. I think they might still be in business, but I'm not sure. I would guess this was made as a sample of his work. A promotional piece, a part of an accessory line, or perhaps it was part of an installation somewhere(matching the cabinetry he installed in a kitchen for instance) It is beautifully made. I think the olive green vaneer might be waterlogged wood pulled up from a river or lake somewhere. It looks liquid to me. The wood trim and handles have a nice long and straight grain- light against a dark red. I don't know what kind it is. But it really goes with the green. 24-1/8" long x 14-1/2" x 1-1/2" overall Very nice overall. I gave it a good polish and it looks great now. There are some stray cosmetic marks. Light scratches, bumps to the corners, and discoloration underneath. Most are not noticable or are underneath where not visible. Please see the pictures for more details. Package

Also comes with 4 mid-century modern little wooden nut dishes that are NOT by the artist but seem to go with it but they have a gloss finish. Heart, pineapple, diamond, spade. Mid century Baribocraft rotating round tray
Great vintage wood tray made in Canada by Baribocraft in the 70s. This company no longer exists. The wooden tray is on a rotating plate with bearings. It rotates smoothly. Great condition except for a very small portion of the cork pad under the tray that is missing. You can see this flaw on the second picture. But it is really a very minor flaw. The wood has a great color and is in a great condition too. Baribeau& Fils(Sons) was founded in 1922 by Hervé Baribeau in Levis. Quebec. They became the largest woodenware accessories company in Canada with the trademarks Baribocraft that produced goods for the retail market and Baribo-Maid that was dedicated to the wholesale and food service industry. The quality of their wares was renowned all over the world. The Baribocraft line included such items as salad bowls, cheese boards, trays, ... moresalt shakers& pepper grinders, dried goods canisters, nut bowls and meat carving boards. Baribo-Maid produced clothes hangers, clothes pegs, salad servers, rolling pins, toothpicks and even hockey sticks! Baribocraft sadly ceased their production in the 70’s but both trademarks are now the property of Vachon Business Group. Beautifully carved ends and hollowed center reflect handwork of the mid-century modern style. The patina is very nice and the tray is in excellent condition with a few very fine scratches on the bottom of the tray. But could possibly disappear with conditioning or polish. The tray is 1" deep on the sides and the interior of the tray measures 16" long and 9.5" wide with the overall size being 19.5" long including handles, and 10" wide from side to side. Lovely piece. Nice carving and grain.

Hand Made Wood Inlay Round Tray with Handle This tray has 4 or 5 different woods that are pieced together in a striking modern design. It is about 11.5" in diameter. The main tray is on a riser and the tray is about 1 5/8" high from the table top. There is a handle in the middle that rises 6 1/8" from the tray. The bottom is covered with red felt to protect your surfaces. There are no marks or signatures on this tray. Very Good Condition-There is one place where the wood is not matched up perfectly. This auction is for a vintage wooden tray. It has box joint corners and is nicely made. It is a mid century piece. I know it is least from the 60's as it has been our family since then and I even have a couple of photos from the 60's where you can see it in the background. The bottom is a little soft as I think it has a felt type bottom. It measures approx. 15.5 by 10 inches and the sides measure to highest point 2 1/4 inches. Thanks for looking.
