New York hand painted small scalloped Tin Tole Tray featuring hand painted fruits in the center depicting a plump orange, seed dimpled strawberries, and highlighted grape clusters. PLEASE NOTE this piece is NOT marked but is identical and came from same NJ estate as the fruit tray that sold last week. They were probably once a pair. Nashco Products made a line of colonial revival hand painted tin serving trays in the period 1920-1950 post war years reminiscent of the antique pieces sold by peddlars house to house in the horse drawn wagon days. Now. In a growing homeowner America, where consumer demand for retail products grew, they found their niche in creating lovely tin articles for kitchen ... moreuse and display. Many of their production wares are easily found, but tend to be overized trays difficult to store and use in today's smaller dwellings. This petite tray is only 7" x 8" with a scalloped gilded edge all original as made.a nice little winter fruit salad grouping of yellow gold and dark red colors of the season all on matte black surface front and back fully painted. This little gem is in excellent perfect condition for the tole collector complete with wire stretch wall hanger ready to go for any small space anywhere in your home. The hanger was twisted during photo shoot. I have straightened and tightened it now to perfection. Also, the fingerprints and dust have been corrected and removed with a terry cloth towel scrubbing after photo shoot as found. Small Primitive Vintage Hand Painted Toleware Tin Box Hinged Lid Spice Box or? I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! This old box is somewhat of a mystery to me. It's made from a metal that a magnet stick to- and it's light and definitely has the feel and weigh of tin. But if you look closely at the inside, it has a patination that looks very much like the pattern on galvanized steel(but this doesn't have the weight of steel) Look at my inside photos and see what you think- it's a first for me. The other thing that would support whether it's galvanized ... moreis that, although the metal shows darkness form age, it does not have rust- there's rust colored spots, but I do think that is from the paint. Whatever it's made of, it's held up very very well.this one is a charmer. Measuring 3" square and 2 1/2" tall, it is the size of the spice boxes that I have seen, but there's no name etc. on it. It weighs a smidge under 1/4 lb. It has a lovely hand painted finish- the background of the body is gold, and the top and bottom are black, and they are accented with flowers on all 4 sides in shades of rust, green, burgundy and grey. The top of the lid, and the sides of the lid have thin line hand painted borders too. The hinged lid works perfectly, and the lid fits well, and stays securely in place. It really is in excellent solid and sturdy condition overall- I can't find a ding. There is wear to the finish all over in small scratches and scrapes- it's easier to see at the solid black on top. There's also some palpable small white spots on all 4 sides- see photo 4 for a good example- those aren't paint chips, those are something on TOP of the paint- it feels like paper to me- as if this was wrapped i

I don't know much at all about these things. its yard sale season and I try to grab vintage items no matter what they are) I actually had to search eBay just to figure out what to call it and to see what section to put it in. The tray is roughly 7 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches. I would give it a 94 to 95 out of 100% in condition. There are some small scratches that you have to hold the tray at an angle to see on the front. And a couple spots on bottom, but as you can see from pics it is a BEAUTIFUL- SOLID piece. I believe these are HAND Painted and this one is signed by the painter. TOO you can see on the back there is a HALLMARK stamp but I have no idea what company it is from. Thanks for looking!

For Sale is a 3 1/4" W by 4 1/2" Long Painted Tin English Box. Inside are adorable hand painted numbers from 1-8. The tin box is painted black with a lovely painting of three red/ pink roses with long greens and leaves. The tole numbers are painted black with pinks and blues making up the daisy- like flowers with green vines and leaves. Thereare tiny holes in the numbers for you to actually nail them and use them if you would like. They are absolutely adorable! I purchased these myself in an antique store about fifteen years ago. This is a small Parker tin case dated 1860. The lid has a very well executed hand painted patriotic American Eagle clutching an olive branch and surrounded by blue stars. This is all hand done and most likely by a talented Civil War soldier. These little tin cases were very popular during the war to hold tobacco. Antique Primitive Tin Toleware Box: Hand Painted, Black, Gold, Early 1900s
This little tin box is about recipe box size at 5-3/4" X 3-1/2" X 3-1/2" deep. It was acquired at an estate sale where all of the items being sold were from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is hand painted and I believe the tole design is actually stenciled on with gold paint with red shading. The top. As shown in the photo, is a cluster of three cherries; the front and back panels have a swag with a little red flower in the middle; and the end panels have a daisy-like flower. The black paint job is not first rate: there are a few areas where the original drips and brush strokes can be seen and it has now become crazed. This is part of what makes this piece so very charming. The stenciling is mostly intact except for an area of paint loss on the largest cherry. Overall I would consider the box to be in nice condition given ... moreits probable 100+ year age. There are a number of small dents and dings. Nothing of real significance. The lid fits on and off as it should with a small amount of effort. There are a few small areas of paint loss, primarily around the edge where the lid has rubbed; there is one small"blob" of white paint right beneath where the top of the lid ends; and there is some surface rust on the interior including one pin-hole size area where light shows through. This is an estate piece being sold as is. As found. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to odors: smoking, fragrance, cooking, mustiness, mothballs, other storage odors or pets. A great piece of Pennsylvania Folk Art from the late 1800's Here are some things that can be known with a fair degree of certainty: it's origins are from the pennsylvania regions. It is from the late 1870/80's to 1910 by the style of painting. The person/s who used the box was right handed due to distinctive wear pattern. A pattern which would be consistent with the age which is approx 100+/10yrs. The base paints of black& red are original and consistent for the period. The paint is only one layer in thickness. The flowers. However, may have been redone/touched up approx 70+ yrs ago. I say this due to lack of similar wear on the flowers. The wear on the tin is consistent with the probable age, but it could be the box was used more than usual. DISCLAIMER: I am not an expert on toleware. Antique Pensylvania Dutch Hand Painted Toleware Tin Creamer
This looks like a small coffeepot. But is believed to have been used in the early 1800s as possibly a creamer. It is black with a hand painted Pennsylvania Dutch flower design on both sides. Its handle has a triangle shaped place where it was added to the top of the container. It is 5" tall and 6" wide with handle. Inside width of container is 2 7/8" The hand painted design is in good shape. There are some nicks at the base and at the top. This was found in my parents' estate so no history is known.

Vintage Hand Painted toleware bread tray tin ND1728
Unusual tole painted tin tray or bread basket measures 11" x 6 3/4" and is 2" deep at the center point. The design is done in dark green. Mustard and two shades of a russet pumpkin color. The finish is rough and aged but there is no paint loss and no dents in the tin. Tole painting became popular again in the mid 20th century and we believe this to be an example from that time period. Vintage Rectangular Hand Painted Tin Tray ND880
Very pretty 12" x 17" tole tray. The design is done in gold powders and gold leaf highlighted in umber and etched to define the flower petals. The work is reasonably well-skilled and done by M.B. in 1954 as indicated in the signature on the reverse. It shows some signs of use: scratches on the back. Two small areas of paint loss on the rim one of 1/4" x 1/16" and one 1/2" x 1/8" There is a rough mark on the floor of the tray just above the large flower which can be seen in photo#3 and a tiny dent with no paint loss that appears as a gray dot on photo#3 to the right above the leaf spray.
