ANTIQUE 19c OHIO TOLE TOLEWARE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE COFFEE POT UNIQUE SPIRAL TOP
It's real old and has been well used.There's as much weight in solder in this as tin and it even has a patch on the inside.There's not any dents in it and it's not rusted out but it's has been repaired in several places with what looks like different kinds of solder from different eras of repair.I'm not sure if the copper bottom came with it originally or not.It could have possibly been added to it or it could have been made that way.I'm just not sure.From looking inside of this I'm sure it was red originally.The brown painted backround has a textured feel to it and it's been beautifully hand painted by someone who was a very talented artist.The metal piece that holds the lid on permantly is broken but it will stay on and go up and down without a problem because theres enough of it left to easily take the ... moretop on and off.It has a unique spiral on the lid.I havn't seen another top like it and wish I knew who made it.It's 11 1/4" tall and the base is 6 1/2" wide.This was purchased at a antique shop in Ohio by a relative back in 1942 and was recently rediscovered in a box wrapped in a newspaper from 1975.The paint job on this is in excellent condition and was like this when it was purchased so it was painted over 70 years ago.It's water based paint and is really balanced.It just has several holes that have been repaired with solder.It's a neat unique piece of history and artwork but just don't have a place for it that's why it's for sale.This is a one and done ad as far as relisting it is concerned.If it doesn't sell I'm going to wrap it back up in the same newspaper and put it away in the same box for my grandchildren and hope they will appreciate it.I'm charging a flat rate of $20 to properly pack and ship this with $300 worth of insurance.If you have any questions just ask.

A very nice folk art style painted tole tray w/ a stenciled fruit basket. The painting reminds me of the stenciling found on Hitchcock Rocking chairs from the 19th century and maybe a Pennsylvania Dutch style artwork. Age is hard to determine on the piece. But the"alligatoring" of the paint makes me think that it is probably from the late 19th century. The metal is also relatively light and I cannot find any marks. It measures about 16 1'2" across and about 13" wide. Condition is pretty nice. As stated, there is some alligatoring of the paint, specially around the inside rim edges which should show in the photos. There is some minor denting around the edges and there are spots where something hot was placed on the tray and burned the paint leaving a mark. The coffee pot has a straight spout which is perpendicular to the handle, an applied"C"scroll handle; hinged lid being slightly domed and a ring on top to open lid. Circa 1810 to 1850s. The coffee pot has paint wear. Retaining a majority of of the paint. The paint loss is normal wear of the black ground paint mostly alongside the spout. Antique Peter Ompir Toleware Tole Folk Art Painted Document Box with Lid
Wonderful Peter Ompir Folk Art Painted Box. This wooden box box has Mr. Opmir's whimsical character and strawberries painted on it for which he is recognized and known for. The green on the box is the well know green that he uses in his work. Please see the pictures to see where the wood near the top of the box has a crack and where paint has chipped off. Even with the age wear of the box the art and box are still very attractive and collectable. The box measures 15 inches long-9 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches deep-The box closes smoothly and even. There is a small price sticker on the bottom of the box that I have never removed. The box was purchased in the 1960s and the sticker is most likely from then. These antique pieces were then used Mid Century as either Doorstops or possibly Book Ends- I wish I could find the original manufacturer marking on this piece. But with the painting, I have been unable to see it. Due to age, I assume this is a US piece- It is old. However. From the Pennsylvania Dutch. These are 4 hand painted metal Toleware trays. They could be from Amish or Mennonite families. The trays measure 13-3/4"+ x 10-1/2" with rolled. Rounded corners. The original color of the metal was blue. The background is black on all 4 trays with a general theme of red, white and green throughout the trays. The rims were once painted red with white and green dots. The first image is of a buck& doe. The 2nd is a heart. The third is the tree of life with gold apples. The last is a dove life bird. All trays have condition issues with rust coming through on the bird tray. Please use the Zoom feature to carefully look over the tray for scratches and paint loss. Large Antique Folk Art Tin Tole ware Serving Tray Steam Engine. Railroad Train, Trestle Bridge. Measures 1" tall X 23 7/8" long X 17 3/8" wide. Large Tin serving tray with a black background. Around the edge are groups of stenciled flowers, Victorian designs and cornucopia in the four corners. In the center pictures a Steam locomotive train, coal car and open passenger cars crossing a river on an old stone train trestle. There are two people up on the engine and coal car, the Engineer& Fireman. The passenger cars are filled with people, men with stove-top hats and women in bonnets. Smoke billows out of the smokestack and a house is silhouetted up on the hill. Each side of the trestle are wispy green trees and golden bushes. There are two open handles on each side. It looks to be a combination of both hand painting and stenciling ... morethat is varnished over. This is in Nice Condition.
