Penn/ The tray is highly colorful with hand painted florals in blues, pinks and white colors. The tray would date to the 1930's. The toleware painted tray is in excellent condition. The tray has no cracks, chips, or repairs. The antique tray measures 12 1/3" by 16 1/4" The back has the original label from Fine Arts Studios. Antique Black and Gold Toleware Spice Box and 6 Tins w/ Brass Handle NEAT!
You are viewing an antique Toleware Spice Box tin with 6 canisters. It is from the early to mid 19th century. It measures approximately 9.5 inches long. 6.25 inches deep, and 3.25 inches tall. The canisters measure approximately 3 inches tall each. The outside of the tin has gold colored design done over a black finish, while the inside is copper in color. The hasp and hinges all work properly. The canisters had the name of the spice stenciled on the tops of them. The Nutmeg is still visible as well as most of the Mace. The remainder of the spices were Ginger, Cloves, Allspice, and Cinnamon. The rings for two of the lids are missing(as pictured) and there is some paint loss. Overall this great piece is in very good condition for its age and will make a fantastic addition to your collection. It has a nice still life scene with nice muted colors. It has a little round design with a ribbon on the bottom right I'm not sure what it is. This tray has some rust and scratches but is still very beautiful. It could use a cleaning and I'm sure it will clean up nice with the right stuff. Is is very heavy and solid. Thanks for looking.

Antique Primitive Tin Toleware Box: Hand Painted, Black, Gold, Early 1900s
This little tin box is about recipe box size at 5-3/4" X 3-1/2" X 3-1/2" deep. It was acquired at an estate sale where all of the items being sold were from the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is hand painted and I believe the tole design is actually stenciled on with gold paint with red shading. The top. As shown in the photo, is a cluster of three cherries; the front and back panels have a swag with a little red flower in the middle; and the end panels have a daisy-like flower. The black paint job is not first rate: there are a few areas where the original drips and brush strokes can be seen and it has now become crazed. This is part of what makes this piece so very charming. The stenciling is mostly intact except for an area of paint loss on the largest cherry. Overall I would consider the box to be in nice condition given ... moreits probable 100+ year age. There are a number of small dents and dings. Nothing of real significance. The lid fits on and off as it should with a small amount of effort. There are a few small areas of paint loss, primarily around the edge where the lid has rubbed; there is one small"blob" of white paint right beneath where the top of the lid ends; and there is some surface rust on the interior including one pin-hole size area where light shows through. This is an estate piece being sold as is. As found. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to odors: smoking, fragrance, cooking, mustiness, mothballs, other storage odors or pets. Antique Black and Gold Trimmed Metal Toleware Document Box
I can recall this box in my family's posession in the 1940's. It has the name"Miss Anna B. Fairman" printed on the front. But that is not a family name that I know about. It is in the shape of a cash box at 11" wide by 7 3/4" deep by 4 3/4" high. The hinges are broken as though, lacking a key, it was opened by breaking the hinge. My recollection was that it was referred to as a"death box" as though important papers were kept in it and to be opened after death. The box is probably native to Santa Clara Valley in California, but could have been brought from Illinois in 1920 by my grandfather to California. It has been cluttering up my storage for 30 years and needs a new resting place.

Measuring approximately 16" x 20" The tray is quite heavy and the black background paint, as well as some of the gold gilt leaves(which almost look like"gold leaf" have a bit of"alligatoring" to them due to the old age of the tray. Besides the bits of"crackle" here and there, I really did find no paint loss, ... moreother than some flea bits sized flakes which are barely worth mentioning. The remnants of the original paper sticker(or price tag) is still attached to the back of the tray. NO rust. Dents, dings or scratches. There are some curious faint"ring" impressions here and there on the surface of the tray- From somethiing heavy being set on it for long periods of times- decades? This Lovely Vintage Black Tole Lamp- punctuated with Golden feature accents- is another beautiful Estate find in great condition. It stands about 20” Tall– measured to the top of its Tole shade as pictured. The Black/Gold Shade has a Bottom Surface Diameter of about 10 ½” and it is about 6” High. The Base Diameter of the Lamp is about 5” As you can see from the pictures. It is in fine working condition. The wiring seems to be good. The Tole Shade sits upon a White Milk Glass Globe. There are two little“screws” that you can loosen to remove it for cleaning or shipping. The White Milk Glass Globe is also in fine condition as is the cream colored interior of the tole shade. I think it is probably a 3-Way Lamp although I only have a regular bulb in it so I cannot say for sure since I don’t have a 3-Way Bulb to try it with. However, when I turn it on, nothing happens on the first turn– the light goes on with the 2 nd turn– there is also a 3 rd turn but nothing happens with the regular bulb that is currently in it.
