Antique Black Forest Style Wood Barometer Thermometer Hygrometer German Carved
Unusual antique carved wood German barometer/thermometer/hygrometer. The piece has"B. Straub" carved on the front and lettering is all in German. I've not seen one that has the hygrometer included. Rather unique. The glass covering the hygrometer needs to be cleaned however. The thermometer section is porcelain with no chips or cracks. The barometer section is also in nice condition with no chips or cracks in the glass. The carving well done in a Black Forest German style.The back side has tin covering the thermometer and barometer sections. It measures 16 1/4" by 6 3/4" approximately. It appears to be in working order. No international sales, payment through Paypal please.

This is an old hand carved German nutcracker in excellent condition with no cracks. Splits etc. I have no idea exactly how old it is but it has been at my house for at least 25 years. It's very nicely carved, all wood, even down to the dowel that allows the jaw to close and crack the nut. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ONE IN THIS NICE CONDITION! Antique Vintage Folk Art Black Forest Carved Wood Old Man Woman Bookends Statue
Estate found.wonderful pair of early Black Forest carved bookends featuring an old man and woman. I love the expressions on their faces which are finely detailed. In very good condition with a lovely patina. There is a small toothpick sized hole at the corner of the mans mouth as if something may have been held there at one time? This is very hard to see as both sides of the mouth match perfectly and the small round hole blends in with the carved wrinkles around the mouth. Each measures approx. 8 1/4" tall x 4" x 4.5" A very charming example of old European folk art.

Beautiful large antique hand carved Black Forest center piece. The work shows two deer. Male and female, sitting and standing next to a tree. The patina is wonderful, and the carving is of exceptional quality. Height is approximately 14 inches, width is 7 1/2 inches at widest point. There are some minor losses on the tree that need to re carved, as well as antlers on the deer need some work. I have seen these sculptures in antique shops for many thousands. Antique Carved Wood Bear Lamp 20" tall Probably Black Forest I purchased this at a swap meet some years ago. The only information on it I know is what I acquired from the seller. She said that at one time it had a plate on the top of arm that is extended up. She also thought it was from Germany. The bear on the stand measures 20" tall. The base is 12" wide. I have uploaded tons of pictures. But will point out the rough spots that I notice too. The back of the hand of the extended arm is broken off and there is a chunk out of the front of the end of that arm too. I see 2 nails in the right foot, and there is a line on the arm that is in front of the bear that I can't tell if it is just an irregularity in the wood, or a repaired crack.

Offered for sale is this antique or vintage hand carved wood oval shaped fruit tray. No markings. Don't know the age and origin. But I would guess this is a German Black Forest piece. The tray depicts a fruit at center and surrounding by detailed and finely carved leaves. The carving is beautiful and detailed. The wood shows nice aged patina. It is in excellent condition. High relief at 1" thick, retains original hanger, and large size at 9 1/2" x 7 1/2" Excellent condition with only a slight surface scratch at 9:00 in closeup pic. This hand carved wooden figure is approximately 7 1/4" tall. Bottom marked made in Italy. Very nice high quality item with excellent details. Made by an expert carver and artist. Possibly a well known collectible maker but I don't know how to confirm that. Appears to be an Anri. Sold as is- It looks great to me but I haven't closely examined it for any flaws. Damage or defects. See photos please. I don't know what else to say about this item aside from its history. I purchased a collection of old antique and vintage wood carvings at a rummage sale. The lady who collected them had passed away. The seller. A long time friend of collector, said the lady was wealthy and traveled all over the world. Tanned face, red tongue, and brown"body" The carver put a great amount of deatil into his features for his eyes, eye brows, and lips; very life-like. The carving is in classic French hunting or Black Forest style with several fish on a stringer. It is beautifully carved in solid oak stained dark brown. It was originally a cabinet door in a large hunting style buffet but will make a spectacular wall hanging. It is in very good antique condition-straight and solid with no damage on the front and minor chips and some screw holes on the rear and edges.
