There are a few scuffs on the paint and we found from researching similar figures that the broom is missing from his left hand. Otherwise it is in very good condition. There is felt on the bottom so we do not see a signature but it is very much like the Anri carvings from Bavaria. A wonderful collectible piece! UNUSUAL VINTAGE HAND CARVED AND PAINTED WOOD (TEAK)? 5" INDIAN FIGURINE
You are bidding on an unusual figurine I found in an old antique/junk shop. The figurine is 5" tall and 2 3/4" wide. It appears to be hand carved. Very angular, and hand painted. The wood is heavy, possibly teak, but unknown. The figure is of an old Indian. I believe. There are some ancient cork coasters in the back of t he figure. Bottom is pictured and the attached tag says Woody Mfg, Made in Canada. I have found no record of such a place. Some of you out there may be familiar with this art. Vintage Hand Carved Wood Angel This is not a reproduction or mass produced item it is a one of a kind original wood carving Lovely gift for a Graduate. Scholar or Teacher This is a stunning work of art and craftsmanship. The entire body. Head and book are carved from one solid very heavy piece of wood. I cannot identify the type of wood it is made from. I believe my parents brought it here from Poland when they immigrated to the U.S in the 1940's. The wings are intricately carved as a separate piece and uniquely inserted in to the wood to make it look as one piece. It is amazing! This has been very well taken care of throughout the years. There are no chips. Cracks dents or dings. There is one small indentation on the left side of the book and it appears to be a part of the makeup of the single piece of wood that it was carved from. Vintage Carved Wood Nativity Manger for 5" or 6" Set ANRI or German Black Forest
This auction is for a vintage manger. It came with the 5" ANRI set I have listed. It would probably work for a 5" or 6" set. It is carved wood and looks more black forest to me than ANRI. But I'm not sure. It measures 19.5" tall to the top of the tree by 16" wide by 9" deep. The manger original came with one tree. The tall tree to the left has a dowel on the bottom that fits into a hole on the base. The other three matching trees may have been designed to stand on the table behind the manger, but the past owner used florist's gum to stick them to the base in front of the manger. Depending on how you want to display it, you may need to clean it off. The gum may leave some residue on the wood. This set was purchased from the estate of a catholic priest. This miniature jug is a bit different. It is made of wood and has engraving on the front. I cannot make out all of the letters. The little handle is a tiny light piece of bent wood. I see_ Mule at the top and then Panama City_ in the middle of the piece. I imagine that this piece dates to the 1940s or earlier. But I am not certain. Either a vintage souvenir or merchant token. Size: approx 2 ½ inches high. Diameter at base is approx 1 inch. Condition: You may be able to make out all of the engraved printing. But I cannot. Also a hairline crack on the back side. A neat vintage piece. Rare Vtg Fine Wood Carving of Ladies Womens Female Right Hand Figure Ornament 5"
Gorgeous carving of a female hand. Fine and delicate- note the lines in the palm and the outlined fingernails. I am not sure of the wood used. But it is lightweight- very smooth to the touch- beautiful patina(photos do not really do it justice) The wrist was carved at an angle- giving it good balance for display. Unfortunately. The index finger was broken at some point and subsequently glued- quite a good job, with no missing areas, although there is one splinter of wood sticking up on the inside of the finger. There are also some dark'dots' old ink? in some areas, but they oddly add to the charm(in my opinion) It measures approximately 5" 13 cm) in length- 1 1/4" 3 cm) across. I can find no maker's mark. LOT of 5 CARVED WOOD Figures from SPAIN Detailed Workmen VINTAGE All UNIQUE
Here is a lot of 5 carved figures from Spain. Each unique. Depicting various occupations. One is a bagpipe player, one a lemonade salesman, the remaining three are sailors, but all different. One carries a basket of fish and his boots, one carries a bucket of fish and the third carries his nets. All are approximately 6 inches tall. All in fine vintage shape. No cracks or repairs. The only flaw I see is the broken leather strap on the lemonade seller. All 5 have a wonderful, rich patina.

Vintage cherry wood figural 9.5" carved gnome face nutcracker
This guy is great and I had to buy him to resell for to my customers. His is carved from cherry wood and thus likely American. He is about 9.5" tall and functioning. The lever/handle has been pegged into the stand. The peg pokes out with age and is another indication of age. He has a couple of chips in his mouth from use and probably should not have been used as cherry wood is soft for this purpose. It also has a chip on top of his hat and a tiny old one on his nose. I would guess his age at 50-75 years old. I am a old school wholesaler dealer and scour GA and New England for the best to buy for my customers.
