Here is a vintage horse head concho bit. Marked W.B.S. Co. which stands for Western Bit and Spur Company. It has engraved cheeks with 1 7/8" domed horse head conchos. The lip bar is engraved as well. It is made of monel material. The bit is a loose jaw, it is 5" inside measurement, 7/8" port with a nice big brass roller. The overall length is 7 1/2" I have not cleaned the bit, left the patina on it to show the age. The new owner can clean it if they want to. I do not see any breaks or repairs. As always. Estate found. It is missing a hook on one side of the chain as shown.The only mark I can find on it is US. I cannot find any makers marks but may possibly be I don't know where to look. The bit is rusty so other marks may not be evident. Some that I have sold out of this same lot were marked BTC but US is all I can find on this one. Antique bit. Bridle and reins. This piece belonged to a relative that grew up and spent her whole life in Malheur County of Eastern Oregon. Hand-forged with silver decoration. Leather is in very nice condition. On Mar-25-13 at 16:39:15 PDT. Seller added the following information: Since I don't know the age of this piece. I can only guess at it's history. The bridle was owned by a grand daughter of an Oregon Trail pioneer and homesteader in Malheur County. Oregon. She was born in 1903. Cyrus Locey, who homesteaded in Ironside, Oregon actually made the trek twice within his lifetime and was her grandfather. The only thing that she told us about the bridle was that it was"pretty severe"

Up for auction is an older western show bit with engraved German silver over stainless steel. The bit has a 5" wide stainless steel mouth with a low port. The cheeks have a 1-3/4" diameter engraved silver concho at the mouthpiece connection and a smaller concho in the open section. The slobber bar has engraved German silver overlay. The cheeks measure about 7-1/2" long from the top of the bridle ring to the rein rings at the slobber bar. The bit is in good used condition showing light normal wear. There are some scratches on the inside of the stainless steel cheeks that won't be seen when the bit is on the horse. Old Cowboy marked McChesney silver mtd. iron engraved rare horse bridle curb bit
Good all original marked bit. Marked McChesney on outside of shank- see picture 1. This bit has a low port and a 5 and 1/4 inch wide mouthpiece. Bit is all original without any breaks or repairs and is not bent. Both shanks of bit are engraved and mounted the same. This is the only curb bit I have seen that is engraved fully along the shanks jn this pattern and has the McChesney mark there. Very unique engraving pattern on this bit. Very rare bit in my opinion. This bit was purchased from an estate collection that came out of South Dakota. Some small rust showing through the plating in places. Vintage Parade Horse Silver Bridle Breast Collar Loaded with Silver Crockett Bit
This is a very fancy parade horse bridle and breast collar-it is very clean and ready to go use on your horse-the bridle comes with a Crockett Renalde S shank engraved bit-it is marked with the CR circle inside the cheek-the bit is 5 in. wide-7-1/4 in. long-the headstall is 41 in. as shown-it has adjustment on the bit connector area and also on the sides to be taken up in each area 1-2 in. or let out the same-the reins are 7 ft. split reins-the solid part of the breast collar is 28 in. long and the side straps are 9 in. long-looped over-the width of the center area is 4-1/4 in. and tapering back to 2-1/2 in.complete with the chest strap and tie down strap-the silver is stainless steel-this will match the saddle I have listed if you need a bridle and breast collar for a parade use.thanks for looking.

This is a really quality made Sterling Silver Overlay Spoon Spade Horse Bit-it has had some use but is all in great condition-measuring from the top of the mouth-the spoon is 3-3/4 in. high-the copper wire wrap is all good-5 in. wide mouth-8 in. long shank-the star area on cheek is 2-1/4 in. wide-engraved lip bar-the bit is well balanced and top quality made-there are 2 stamps with the initials NV on the bit for Nevada-not sure) thanks for looking.
