Antique Victorian Wicker Tray Butterfly,Flowers,Seedpods Under Glass, 1920s
Beautiful Victorian wicker and wooden tray in lovely antique condition. Under the glass surface. Resting on what appears to be a bed of possibly dandelion seedpods, are very delicate stems of floral sprays, some of which may also be tiny seeds. Above this display is a perfect Monarch butterfly. I am in awe of the steady hands that it must have taken to create this piece. The inside diameter is 13" and from handle to handle measures about 15" The inside depth is 1-1/2" There are a few"interruptions" to the wicker here and there but nothing that couldn't be cured with a drop of glue. There is some damage to one of the handles that isn't immediately noticeable; and if this were to be used only as a display piece could also be either left alone or repaired with a little glue. If a new owner should decide to use ... morethis to serve. However, it would probably be best to have the handle repaired. Other than the weakness to one handle it remains in sturdy condition. The wooden base and glass are in very good condition and both the wicker and the wood have acquired a lovely patina. This is an antique piece dating to the 1920s that I found at an estate auction. It is being sold with flaws as noted as is. I cannot guarantee that it has not been exposed to smoking/fragrance/cooking odors or pets. Great Antique Wicker Serving Tray - Nice Tapestry Piece Under Glass!
While it has some areas where the varnish has scratched from the wicker. This is still a great looking serving tray! I'm sure the scrapes could easily be touched up with dark paint or even one if those wood markers which hide dings. The tray is 13" x 19" There is a fantastic tapestry material under glass which is a scene of trees. The sides are wicker and the handles are bent wood. The bottom is old felt which could easily be changed as well. There is only 1 piece of wicker that I can see that is broken and I've tried to take a photo of it. Up for Auction is a Victorian Wicker& Wood Serving Tray With Floral Decal. It measures approximately 18"long x 13" wide x 21/2" deep at the wicker handle. I would consider overall condition to be GOOD showing some wear. The sealer is peeling around the edges and the underneath side shows some crack marks and aging(view photos closely) The center art work is a beautifully painted decal. This tray is very old(my mother would be over a hundred and this was her mothers) The braided edge is tacked on and the wicker is in very good shape I see no breaks in the wicker at all. Antique Woven Wicker VANITY TRAY. Glass Top, Floral Insert, Unusual Size ANTIQUE WOVEN TRAY Lovely antique Victorian woven wicker tray measuring 12-3/4" long. 9" wide and 1-3/4" tall. Featuring an oblong shape and smaller size, interior is mounted with old glass over a piece of faded chintz floral material. Basket is heavy and sturdy, made with a wood base- very solid. Condition is very nice with ages of cased dust within the wicker edge- once painted gold, it has faded to a dull bronze color- I find no broken wicker other than a slightly pointy little piece at the finished end which is a product of production and not damage. I think this was repainted a few times during its life as there is trace gold paint on the very underside edge of the glass- gold is very bright at that point and probably the original color of the tray. ... moreMaterial has faded with tanning from leeching contact with the wood underneath and some staining on the underside of one corner area from spillage of a perfume or similar- does not detract a bit. Pretty hand painted tea serving tray with basket woven wicker sides. Features sprays of roses and tulips. The painted board nests into the tray and has a piece of glass that nests on top. I photographed this without the glass because of the glare. Vintage hanging hardware is affixed to the reverse. So it can be hung as art. If you do this, you must secure the glass and board to the tray or it will fall out. This beautiful tray dates from the early 1900's. It measures approx. 16" x 11" with the sides 2" deep. There are some old water stain marks on the back of the tray that do not affect the appearance of the tray on the display side.

This is a ANTIQUE VICTORIAN-ERA WOODEN& WICKER SERVING TRAY. It is oval in shape. It has two(2) handles. One on either side for carrying and serving use. It is a heavy, wooden-framed structure with a wicker border all around. It has a glass bottom with pressed flowers, grass and butterflies underneath. The butterfly wings are a glistening bright purple. The grass in the background is also a glistening cream color. On the back side is a piece of tape with the handwritten words"Old, Very Valuable" It also has affixed hardware and a wire on the back for hanging on a wall. There is some minor paint loss on the wicker border and one small area where the wicker was damaged.all of which is minor(Please see pictures) The approximate dimensions are: 22" Long x 14" Wide x 3-1/2" High(at the handles) Overall. Vintage Round Wicker 15" Round Basket with Little Jack Horner Painted in the Wood Middle. The Tray/Platter/Bowl is multi colored. There is blue. Orange, green and red stripes around the bowl.
