I found this VINTAGE Old Rusty Square NAIL on the excavations of Königsberg Castle. Last summer. This NAIL is about 600-700 years old. The Königsberg Castle has a great history. The castle of Königsberg was founded in 1255 by the knights of the Teutonic order in the course of their expansion in the Baltic region. During the 1286-1327 period the three settlements which had formed round the castle of Königsberg(Altstadt. Lobenicht and Kneiphof) were granted the status of towns. In 1724, they officially merged into the city of Königsberg. The historical center of the city with an architecture characteristic of the period was formed in the late Middle Ages. Its symbols were the King’s Castle(mid-13th century) And the Cathedral Church(14th century) Altogether, there are some 730 historical and cultural monuments in the ... morecity which up to 1939 had a population of around 350,000. This is an interesting group. These items were found during an artifact dig in Southern Colorado. The first item is a Ferrier's Hoof Pick used to clean horseshoes and hooves. The pick has a wooden handle and measures 8 1/4" long. Great patina! The second item is square nail measuring 5" The entire nail is square. Not just the head. Original square cut nails attached on back. The curved brass fronts are crimpled over another metal. Seven large fronts are about 13/16“ across at the widest. The 3 small ones are just under ½“ across. Nails on back are about 7/8“ to 1“ with some variation. Brass is darkened. Some have little nicks or dents on front. This listing is for an authentic vintage antique collector's sample of barbed wire fencing. This wire features a Jacob Brinkerhoff patent dated April 8. 1879. This wire is called"Brinkerhoff's Sabre Cut Barb on Twisted Ribbon" by collectors. ref. Hagemeier 950-B) This wire features a three-eighths inch wide twisted ribbon wire. Barbs are two pointed made from light sheet metal, with bottom half of barb, clamped around ribbon wire. Each end of barbs are cut on a double diagonal. Wire sample is 18-1/4" in length. It shows light age and use wear, with no pitting. There are four barbs, well spaced, and cut is failry well centered. There is some bending of points, but no broken, or missing points. Small Antique Wooden Dovetailed Blanket Chest * Box * Footed Base * Square Nail
Here we have a stunning antique wooden dovetailed blanket chest or kindling box. with a footed base and large square nails. circa 1890 to 1920. the overall size is 19 inches long by 12 inches wide by 13 1/2 inches tall. the overhanging lid is 20 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide. the feet are one inch tall. the large hand cut dovetails are tight and secure. But stunning as well. this is what draws you to it. the wood looks to be knotty pine. it has formed a wonderful golden patina on the overall appearance. there are two brass hinges securing the lid. the hinges are not old. there are no cracks or hairlines, but the front does show some scratches in the wood. the footed base may have been replaced at some time, but still looks great. see plenty of detailed photos. This is the neatest tray perfect for as many uses as your imagination can conjure! I have pictured just a few we have used it for- tea caddy. Condiment tray, shadow box. It consists of square nail construction with some of the nails having been filled over with wood putty by a previous owner. It don't think it would be difficult to remove the putty if desired. This is an antique wooden model of a oyster sharpie probably made in the late 19th or early 20th century. Sharpies were two mast shallow draft centerboard sailboats said to have developed around New Haven. CT for the oyster industry. This model was originally built with very small square nails as you can see in the close up photo. Some newer type nails can be seen in the rudder which may not be original. The model may have been made as a working model for building full size sharpies as it was made during the period when these boats were popular. Beautiful. Eye-catching conversation piece! Domed"pirate" chest With two locks. This seems like it could have been a money, coin, strong box for a banker or for travel Or simply an immigrant's travel chest. ANTIQUE BLANKET CHEST FROM LATE 1700s You are bidding on an antique blanket chest from the late 1700s. Which is in very good antique condition. To the best of our knowledge this chest was made in Bucks County, PA. It is entirely made from 6 boards. Is dove-tailed, and has early square nail and wood peg construction. The chest is 45 1/2' long x 18 1/4" wide. It is 20 1/2" high. It has a 15 1/4" high interior and stores quite a bit. The wood has a nice patina and a lovely feel. We do not have the key. We are selling because we are moving. It has been in a smoke free home.

Up for your consideration is a beautiful mid century made brazed steel square nail Crucifix! We do not believe it to be a Curtis Jere made piece. But we have no true way of knowing for sure! We took this great piece in on consignment from an elderly gentleman in our store. He is 78 years old and wanted to sell this item to us for 30.00! He explained that he has tryed to give it to his children numerous times with no luck. He stated he has always loved hand made metal art. And had purchased this piece at a flee market in Detroit in the early 70's. It has been in his house ever since.
