You are bidding one of the rarest of the rare: A 1935 SUPRO/ NATIONAL archtop ELECTRO-SPANISH archtop stamped"1781" on headstock. Condition is miraculously good. Very straight V-neck and what appears to be the original parts from tuning keys to bakelite pickguard MOTS fret markers and bakelite volume knob. The tailpiece chrome is so good it doesn't look right, which is my only reservation, but there are no extra visible screw holes anywhere I can see on this guitar. I had the neck reset by Curt Wilson in NJ, and we left the finish alone. It's a little rough where the neck came off the body, but neck is much better for it. Med-action old guitar. Plays well up the 12th fret with ease, resonates like lap steel- notes just hang in the air like the ring of a bell. I've only seen one other in my lifetime, and not half as good ... moreas this. I've been collecting National archtops and amps for a long time and this thing is a killer. Pickup is strong! You are not going to sense disappointment at this purchase, only WONDERMENT! A mature Spanish Classical Guitar of a popular quality model type, which is still in production, and offering excellent sound and playability! RAIMUNDO MOD. 112 MATURE SPANISH MADE SOLID SPRUCE TOP AND MAHOGANY CLASSICAL GUITAR- EXCELLENT CONDITION. PLAYING AND SOUND NEW LA BELLA STRINGS. DESCRIPTION. A most attractive Classical Guitar from the renown Spanish maker Raimundo. The Model 112 is still made and currently available on-line new at around £330-£360. Although I think the specification for the current"Studio Series" model may have been revised somewhat, and I would not expect the current model of offer quite such nice detailing, or the sound quality of ... morea mature guitar like this one, which is combined with excellent playability! The age of the guitar is not known. And whilst it doesn't appear to be of"vintage" years, it certainly has some maturity to it, despite which the finish has a superb depth and colour. Until very close scrutiny, it hardly shows any cosmetic signs of it's age, but inspected closely, a number of small marks/slight indentations are visible, mainly on, or close to the edges on the top and fewer on the back, with one very fine flake of chipped finish on the binding, and a couple of very shallow nicks on the back of the neck. Reading this back it sounds a lot more than it is- most of this would not even rate a mention on the older vintage guitars I sell, it is just that the vast majority of the finish is so good, that for the sake of entire accuracy, I feel obliged to mention them in more detail, but in all reality, you do need to look closely- they do not stand out as at all apparent otherwise. It seems that this is a very rare guitar. Juan Estruch guitars are very highly regarded. Top quality instruments. The label inside the guitar dates it's year of manufacture to somewhere between 1960 and 1969. Although it's a 12 string it's currently strung as 6. The top looks like spruce. The back, sides and neck look like mahogany to me and the fingerboard I would say is rosewood. It's condition is very good for it's age. There's ... morea few minor marks and some small areas where the lacquer is a little worn but nothing unsightly. No signs of any damage or repairs. The nut needs replacing when it's re-strung, other than that it's all good. The guitar has a powerful sound and great tone and that's only with the current 6 old strings.
