Antique Asian Japanese Woodblock Print-Image of Woman -Geisha?- Pressed & Framed
Here is a beautiful Antique Japanese Woodblock Print of a lovely woman. Perhaps a geisha, which has been carefully and precisely affixed to a mirror background and then framed. It is a curious format, in that a mirror was used for backing, but the adhesive used around the edges was done well but with a primitive quality and appears aged. The wood frame is also in near perfect condition with no flaws of note and the gilted trim remains brightly intact as shown. Note the single brad nail for each corner indicating early to mid-1900s technique for framing. Unfortunately, the image is not signed, thus it is difficult to date or identify an era for the image. Another interesting feature of this piece, is that in spite of the woman's japanese clothing and motif, her facial features have an almost Western or European quality. This is a nice old estate set that is in nice condition. Its a rather heavy set of pressed glass salt and pepper shakers that are about 3 1/2" tall at the very tips x 2 1/2" across. They are in good condition and I can find no chips or crack by hand or by eye. The tops have some corrosion on them but I believe that can be cleaned up without a problem. This too came into our possession many years ago. From a private estate s ale we attended in the state of Maryland while there doing an Antique show. This one is done with a clear circular center. At the edge of the clear area. Starts mu l tiple rows of small diamond cut designs. Each row of the diamonds cuts grad u ate s slightly as it c omes up the sides of the bowl for about one inch in depth. From this point it meets a different design. Referred to as the" Thumb Print" and this design c an be seen all the way around the sides of the ashtray bowl. Placed in each of the four corners are the individual wells to hold a cigarette or small cig a r. The ashtray ... moremeasures 5.50" across from well to well x 1.5" high with a 4" opening and is 1" deep and weighs 42.6 grams. This is in good condition, chips appear on almost every corner of each well. But they are not Sharp! I have lit erally rubbed my fingers and hand hard over each area and had nothing happen. Of course you should always be mindful of the exist e nce. Especially if children are around. If you r area has a Big F armers market. You can sometimes find venders who buff out chips on glassware pieces. In the last photo we show a group of assorted ashtrays. Which we have begun to list for your pleasure. Also in the photo are two Silver Ronson lighters, that are listed separately in the store. The majority of this all cam e put of the same estate. Ev e n if you are not a s moker and we sincerely hope you are not. This is a lovely piece to add to your collection or to use in another capacity ie; as a coaster. VINTAGE 1960s Pressed TIN Lithographic Print COWBOY PIN Made in Japan
Up for bid is a vintage 1960s pressed tin Cowboy pin I got at auction. I believe this was a souvenir purchased at Tombstone Junction. Kentucky. Tombstone Junction was a small western town themed park located in McCreary County. Kentucky near Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. It opened in the 1960s and featured a re-creation of a small western frontier town, complete with train station, saloon, dance hall, jailhouse, shanties, and shops. It continued operation until the park was damaged by fire in 1989. After the fire. The park was in limited operation until being completely destroyed by another fire in 1991. This pin is in excellent condition. And does not even appear used. Measures just about 1¾" high. Marked"Japan" just beside the scarf around cowboy's neck. This vintage Ingraham wall clock is in very good gently used condition. It has a pressed wood frame and takes an AA battery. It is in good working condition. It hangs on the wall and is a slim size so it can be hung in small spaces or large. The Autumn print is a beautiful reminder of the Fall. Please see my other home goods.
