antique pressed glass depression glass drawer pulls
taken from a built in cabinet in my own house built in 1910. the china closet they went with was done somewhere in the mid 30's to mid 40's. not sure of exact date. no chips or cracks. very minor scratches only seen with a magnifier. i looked at every one throughly just to be sure. the bottoms where they attach are all very slightly irregular. Or different to each other. it's kind of neat and proves that they are old by the way they are finished(ground off) at the place where they mount. in other words they were pressed into a mold and then each one ground flat at the mounting base. the gold look in one pic is a reflection of an overhead light. the screws are not slotted with square nuts on the back. nice age to the tops of the screws. you can buff, i don't like to disturb the age on anything old. i don't think you could ... morefind other pulls that were much, if any, better than these.

From Days Long Past Around the Turn of the 19th Century to 20th Antique Sewing Table Box Small drawer sewing table box has pressed sawdust floral applique& trim. Probably made of poplar wood. Interior of box& bottom of drawer both marked in pencil"22" so it was a production piece from a small workshop or small factory. Drawer in good condition with glued. Not dovetailed corners, appliques in very good condition, varnish is well patinated from age, small half moon nick to edge of red painted knob, knob appears to also be made of pressed sawdust composite. Box has some loss to base trim applique on rear corners. One side applique has 2 shrinkage cracks, other side applique has 1 shrinkage crack, rear applique solid as are the 4 top flowers, oval trim applique around pin cushion has 3 small shrinkage cracks. Trim directly under ... morefloral appliques& above base trim has 3 shrinkage cracks(one large at rear corner with a lost point) Pin cushion glue has dried& released making it easier if one wanted to recover it. Slot on left side of base designed to slip into protrusion of sewing table and dug out portion of interior can be seen in 6th pic. All varnish well patinated. Bottom is pasted blue marbled paper. 22" marks would indicate most probable American or European manufacture& probably made in or near Ohio. Belonged to my great grandmother. This is a very nice set of 10 antique glass drawer or door pulls with brass collars. They are complete with their original bolts. They come from a Victorian era 2 over 4 tall chest. Eight measure aprox. 1 1/2" in diameter x 1 1/4" deep with the threaded shank being 1/4" long, the other two are 1 1/4" in diameter x 1" deep with the shank being 1/4" deep. They are in good condition, one has an edge chip that extends to the back which you can see in the pictures, a little dirty as they have been stored for quite some time. Antique Drawer Pulls Tin/Brass Unusual Pressed Work Furniture Hardware
Here's the scoop.I have had these for years and if memory serves me correct at that time I had a project in mind.but whatever idea it was is long gone so these need to move on. They measure 5-1/2" in length and 2" at center. The screw holes are approx. 3" apart. I am not sure what metal these two plates are. They are thin and light. They have a brass appearance but I'm not sure that is the metal.maybe brass over copper or tin. The raised pattern on each is not perfectly matched. I have thought that maybe these were hand hammered because of the slight variation. It looks like someone has tried to polish them as there is residue on the plates. Primarily on the back side. One plate has the screws loose and one plate they are solid to the front. Once installed I don't think it would have any effect. There were two handles ... morewith these plates. The handles fit but are rusty and I have never tried to clean them. I never thought they were the correct handles. These are mighty cool looking plates.
