ANTIQUE Vintage England/Scotland Gothic Oak Wood Serving Tray. With glass insert, that is in very good vintage estate condition with minor marks from usage. The tray has been well taken care of. Wonderful patina and grain in the oak wood. I purchased the tray from Canada but believe that the tray was made in either England or Scotland. The tray could also be a Victorian piece but I am not sure. Dimensions of the tray are: 16.5" Width. 25" Length. Weighs 5.2 USA lbs. WELL MADE. The bottom wood plate is held to the upper frame with six screws. 2 screws are missing. However, the tray is quite stable with no worry of the glass falling out. please see photos. Beautiful estate find for restoration. Mark on back is clean& clear Royal Rochester with the number 011653 impressed below. I can't find anything about this company in wood works. Lots of silver& china information. Tray measures 22.25"x15" Not an expert. But believe wood composition is Mahogany or Rosewood base with Oak border and Marquetry Inlay possibly with some gold leaf. Corners are made with biscuit joiner. Back is held with a reed fastener. Original handles are attached. This piece does not have any imbedded smells such as smoke or animal.
