Measures approximately 82.5cm x 36cm x 3.5cm deep(32.5" x 14" x 1.5" The tray is divided into three sections. Each having various sized compartments. There are 95 compartments in total with brass detailing at each compartment intersection(see photos) Even the original paper lining in the compartments is still in tact. It also has the original metal handle and label holder. I have polished it up to give the wood a nice all over finish. I t is extremely sturdy and well made with no sign of damages or cracks. This listing is for a vintage wood printer’s drawer made by the Thompson Cabinet Company in Ludington. Michigan. This is model number 12735-T California Job Case. There are cubbyholes which hold numbers 0-9 and two separate places for both small and capitol letters. There were different sized cubbyholes so you could have more common letters than rarely used letters. This one has 89 different compartments including punctuation, symbols and space marks. The drawer measures 32-1/4” x 16-3/4 x 1-3/4 and weighs about 7 pounds 8 ounces. Thompson Cabinet Company Ludington. Mich. is stamped into the wood in 2 places and it has a metal drawer pull on the front. Other than normal wear it is in very good condition. The majority of the cubbyholes still have the original paper letter marking which letter goes in which cubbyhole. There is also section just three to the left that has a partial divider missing. One chip off the bottom right corner but won't hinder the use. This is well made. This is a Genuine Hamilton Antique Type Setting Tray. It was used to hold typesetting metal letters by newspaper companies. It is a great"shelf" now for small knick knacks! It measures approximately 10 1/2"x17" and has the original metal handle on one end. There are ink stains especially on the back along with a bent nail head that shows. For it's age. Unique Solid Wood Letter Press Type Case Sorting Tray Estimated age to be between 1900-1940's Measures 21" x 14" x 1 1/2" Unknown manufacturer. Absolutely the most unique tray I've seen: Back is removable. There are 2 solid brass latches on the back-just lift the rings. The latch retracts& the back of the tray comes off. The back is lined with a material that feels like the old-fashioned blotter paper-seems to be navy blue. Except for some fading, back in in good condition. Brass latches have scratches. Wood case is in really nice condition-100 slots-none cracked or broken. The finish is in as expected& as found condition. Some shallow scratches on the back. Some missing finish on top edges& sides but overall good. From my uncle's West Virginia estate. He worked in the advertising/ display department ... moreof the Monongalia Power Company from the late'30's until 1980. When the company moved from the original downtown Fairmont location to the new modern building. All of the old furnishings& equipment was left to anyone who wanted it. Being a child of the Depression, it was a terrible thing to throw anything out so we have lots off"good" things to find homes for. He used this tray to sort coins. Good condition. Nice estate find-antique printers drawer with 86 slots. The slots have the original numbers. Letters, and punctuation marks taped inside. See pic 5-M&W Mfg Co. Made in New York. See pics 3 and 4 for label info. The box is in good antique condition. See pic 10-there is a gold hanging hardware on each side. See pic 11-the drawer pull is missing and see pic 12-the paper bottom to the drawer shows age and this pic shows the worst of it. Measures 22 1/4 x 16 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches. 3 of the slots have a nail in them that does not go through to the back-not sure if this is original or added later. Trays like this were used to hold typesetting metal letters by newspaper companies in the early 1900's.
