EARLY PRIMITIVE FOLK ART TOLEWARE PAINTED STENCILED TIN TRAY ROLLED HANDLES
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 OLDER TOLEWARE PAINTED STENCILED TRAY ROLLED HANDLES This is a real nice older tray that measures 12 ½” from left to right and 8” from top to bottom. It is also is about 1 1/8” deep. The handles left and right are circular rolled under. Please refer to the scan of the underside for reference. The stenciled design in cream. Green and red paint on both left and right sides is beautiful and carries over along the top and bottom sides. There appears to be an under wash of a copper color that shows through the paint in various areas and quite a lot on the reverse side. The piece of older tape on the reverse mentions the fact that at one time the piece had four balled feet, one at each corner. These however are no longer present. The character of the tray does not suffer with them missing. ... moreThe seams of the tin are tight with the exception of one ¾”slight split in the tin seam running from the base of the tray diagonally to the top corner. Nothing really serious. There are a couple of older light scratches in the base area. A great addition to any Toleware, Tole, Tin Painted Tin, Tableware, Primitive or Americana collection. ANTIQUE 19c OHIO TOLE TOLEWARE FOLK ART PRIMITIVE COFFEE POT UNIQUE SPIRAL TOP
It's real old and has been well used.There's as much weight in solder in this as tin and it even has a patch on the inside.There's not any dents in it and it's not rusted out but it's has been repaired in several places with what looks like different kinds of solder from different eras of repair.I'm not sure if the copper bottom came with it originally or not.It could have possibly been added to it or it could have been made that way.I'm just not sure.From looking inside of this I'm sure it was red originally.The brown painted backround has a textured feel to it and it's been beautifully hand painted by someone who was a very talented artist.The metal piece that holds the lid on permantly is broken but it will stay on and go up and down without a problem because theres enough of it left to easily take the ... moretop on and off.It has a unique spiral on the lid.I havn't seen another top like it and wish I knew who made it.It's 11 1/4" tall and the base is 6 1/2" wide.This was purchased at a antique shop in Ohio by a relative back in 1942 and was recently rediscovered in a box wrapped in a newspaper from 1975.The paint job on this is in excellent condition and was like this when it was purchased so it was painted over 70 years ago.It's water based paint and is really balanced.It just has several holes that have been repaired with solder.It's a neat unique piece of history and artwork but just don't have a place for it that's why it's for sale.This is a one and done ad as far as relisting it is concerned.If it doesn't sell I'm going to wrap it back up in the same newspaper and put it away in the same box for my grandchildren and hope they will appreciate it.I'm charging a flat rate of $20 to properly pack and ship this with $300 worth of insurance.If you have any questions just ask.

You really have to look for the handmade seam on the inside or outside of the can; also the bottom is completely flat; and looks to have been hand rolled or hammered around the edge of the can that’s tapered outward; there is no seam in the bottom of this can; just a smooth flat surface. This is a gorgeous decorated box that measures 11.5" by 8" by 2 5/8" high. The box is made of wood and is painted a shiny black with a brightly colored bird amongst flowers. Fruit, and leaves. The box is divided inside and the separate lid fits on top. There are several tiny scratches on the box and missing paint chips, so please use the photos for condition. Primitive Folk Art Metal Can With Sprinkler Top Hand Painted Toleware
I really don't know what to say about this can. It is interesting. I would call it Folk Art or Toleware. I think it is something an individual has put together and hand painted. It is a metal can. There is tape around the top and I am leaving it there. I do not know why it is there. The sprinkler top fits OK so it is not helping to hold it in. The yellow looking area around the bottom. At first I thought it was tape but now I think it is wax. There is a circle of styrofoam under the bottom. I am not sure what the purpose of that is. There is some paint loss and discoloring. This cool Batea/ Tole Tray was purchased in 1985 at an estate sale. It is in just about the same condition it was purchased in. The paint is chipping. The wood is cracked in 2 places but it is so beautiful. I am selling it because I don't have a place to display it while I am remodeling my home and by the time I am finished I won't have a proper place for it to be admired and enjoyed. I am not really sure whether it is from Mexico or not but I am pretty confident it is. The couple's estate was full of treasures from their world travels and this bowl was really special to them. I didn't know them but I am sure they would be happy knowing that someone else will love and enjoy this piece. It is large and lovely, very cool and would make a neat addition to a primitive decor or really any decor for that matter.

Antique Folk Art Farm Prim Tole Toleware Painted OOAK Primitive Old Wood Sign
This is an auction for an old prim tole painted WELCOME folk art sign. This antique sign came from my grandparent’s home in Kansas(and they lived there for all of their 80+ years) And was kept inside their breezeway porch, at the main door to the house. My mum and dad brought it back to their home in the 1970’s after my grandparents passed away. And from then on, it hung outside our family’s side door in the garage. This sign was made locally in Columbus, Kansas, and is hand-painted and designed, measuring 27.5” long, 8” wide and ¾” thick. Painted black on all sides, the front is brightly colored and there are scenes of a red barn with a white“picket” fence, a white farmhouse with a green roof and a heart shaped design on the front of the house, a whimsical brown cow and a wife and husband with three children: two girls and a boy.
