Vtg 50s Tole Toleware Metal Planter Cache Pot Desk Caddy Green Romantic Cottage. Vintage tole painted metal oval planter. Cache pot, tip or hand towel, letter or what-not holder. Measures 7.25 inches side to side, 4.5 front to back and stands 5 inches tall. Very good condition; minor wear. The flowers are in very good to excellent condition. Solid, heavy gauge metal. Molded feet. Rolled top edge. This is a hand-painted piece. The floral design is skillfully done. Base color is a deep teal green. Front is decorated with yellow and pink flowers and dark green foliage. Top has metallic gold swag which continues around the back. Medium Size 5.5" Vintage French Tole Cachepot Flower Pot Planter Signed
DESCRIPTION: Attractive green-and-gold French tole cachepot with traditional floral decoration. Measures about 5.5" tall across the top and about 5" tall and it comes across as a medium size piece(this is the right size for displaying the 4" size flowers that are very commonly sold at the grocery store and similar places) Comes from a local Dallas estate. Well marked as shown"Made in France" as shown. NO photo-repro dots on my honest examination through a loupe; it is a painted/stenciled decoration and not a decal- or transfer-printed design such as we sometimes see on vintage tole. Probably dates from the 1970s(ca. 40 years old) Check out the pics and I don't think it is as recent as the 1980s. The pics tell the rest of the story. CONDITION: Used for its intended purpose and probably about 40 years old with age-appropriate ... morewear. There is some whitish discoloration to the exterior not affecting the paint as can be seen in the pics. Probably water mineral deposit related discoloration. There is also some surface rust to the interior as shown that does not affect the structure of the cachepot. Otherwise, no issues. No missing pieces, no repairs, no re-painting. I include honest pics taken from every possible angle and the pics are very honest and show the condition well. Please consider the pics to be part of the description.
